Balboa Park will never be the same without you. I saw you play around town my whole life. One day in Balboa we had a nice intimate talk, as you waited for your ride. You shared with me about your life. I was impressed by your honesty. You were so kind and humble. Your biggest accomplishment was your 3 children. You were very proud of them. You told me you struggled with alcoholism in the past. I bought you a soda. You smiled. You were so brave. And underneath it all, I saw some sadness in you. That always stuck with me. I didn't like seeing you sad. It kinda broke my heart a little. I will miss you. I am happy I had the chance to personally meet you. I am very honored. You were one of the things that made San Diego America's finest city. You touched the hearts of people across the world. We were lucky to have you. Rest in peace to you and your wife. May your children find the healing they need.

Mark was an amazing man, I had the privilege to be in a band with him from 2004 through 2007 and we were seen by millions on 2 separate nationally televised talent programs. I always loved him like my own brother. and our lives are much richer for having him in it. Miss you bro and that wicked sense of humor too!

Dave... Jim in Vegas here. I miss him too. You know I blame Mark's death on Biden for opening the borders. I also blame myself for not being a better friend, but that didn't kill him and Ann Marie. Biden's fentanyl did that. I hope you are doing well.

Rest In Peace!! I am using my husband’s phone my name is Judy and we went to Lord Band Powell School in Anaheim when we were in Kindergarten . Always thought about him over the years. Mark used to go over to the Arc Center on Lexington and play guitar for the clients during their lunch break and at various dances. My son who went to the Arc Center absolutely loves Mark. He has been asking me about him a LOT during the last week so I decided to look him up and see where his band might be playing. I was extremely saddened to find that Mark had to leave us. Mark was such a wonderful human being. We love Mark very much. My condolences go out to his children for the loss of their Mom and Dad. They are surely in Heaven. The Creator sees what is in their hearts, and they had some of the best hearts ever. Sending all of you love.

I was visiting San Diego and saw him in Balboa Park playing "Norwegian Wood". I was bloody floored, and still embarrased because I was trying not to stare at him. A year later i found him on UA-cam. I wish I had taken the time to speak with him. He was so nice.

I still cannot believe he is not here to hug...to help while he played at Stand Down San Diego for the Veterans...they are going to meet this weekend...and I don't know if I can go out there without breaking down, except to take his spirit that is in me and so many others, to help the Veterans...again, in his name

I met Mark in El Cajon CA in 1987.or 88. He was impressive as hell in amny ways and an obnoxious fucker sometimes...lol Chill, that was just me laughing at a couple memories. I was behind him at a waterpark one time and when he got up to the top they thought they were not letting him go down on a mat. There was no way and hell they could tell him couldn't. At a campout one time I remember he was not satisfied with a spot conveniently by the road there. He had to trek off a few hundred yards to get the full experience. It was so cool to run across a video about 40 years later and I knew immediately it was him. Then when I read he had overdosed it saddened me. I have been clean 40 years and I met him in recovery meetings when I moved to Cali. I have been back in Texas for 30 years and I love telling stories. I never had to embellish any stories about Mark. RIP old friend.
