Almost all west eqipment are with tracks and that is not good, ofc if weater is bad then yes, but in most of the cases wheeled wehicles are better.

It is many times heavier, and therefore requires much more powerful motors and again becomes heavier from this. It's a vicious circle.
With good tyres, yes. Pantsir is one of the most expensive military systems in the world. Mounting cheap skate Chinese tyres and let these tyres get old wasn't the brightest idea. The decission to mount these cheap tyres costed the Russians some expensive systems. Saving some money on tyres and decent maintenance and for ex. covers to protect the tyres from ultra violet light costed the Russians millions and endangered the troops depending on the systems for their defence.
This said, I think that may have been an eye opener for some western defence organisations as well. Tyre based weapon systems don't make many kilometres, so it is very easy to over see the maintenance of the trucks.
And that's exactly why they always get stuck in Ukrainian mud.

It seems a bit of an overkill system for small drones which are now the primary problem for infantry on the battlefield. I would think that a 20mm cannon would be more cost effective and also allow the vehicle to carry a lot more ammunition.

Maybe a fake, on other side there was claim that Donetsk and Lugansk was taken by russian send men to overthrow local government. But why do that? To what? We taken the Crimea without even a hitch, while we hesitate to recognise the DNR and LNR. Its too difficult and very shady, especially after revolt in Ukraine after few year same happened in Belarus and Kazakhstan. This is just weird and suspicious at same time, as if there an patter of someone, but why Russia would destabilise its allies trought, not years but whole centuries of history together? Russia layers the Tor pantir with the s500/s400 in thier three tier defense system they Dont rely on one systems. They have different variants of each system and depending on area located accordingly.

In the Russian army, this type of armor was the most common at that time.
