5 years later and I’m commenting on this with the blue almost black looking A5 TFSI 2.0 prestige and I love it… got a great deal on it from what I could tell! Got it for 12k and 82k miles. Favorite car I have had so far! Lol
I just bought a 2008 3.2 with 50,000 it a gorgeous car. Its powerful enough, i was look for a twin turbo bwm but this audi is so beautiful i am glad to have found it.
I've got the same car, same year, but 2.0lr tdi sline, I get about 40-50 mpg, not as quick atm as a petrol, but a remap will sort that out. Beautiful car, nice drive.
Im using a 1995 car with the same fuel consumption. I was looking to buy this car hoping newer car have better milage. Turned out i was wrong. Man i really got my eyes on this car. Too bad what you said is a dealbreaker. Thanks mate. Cheers.
252 HP versions tend to eat a lot of gas, but 190 HP (especially TDI) is much better. Probably not sporty at all. Depends on what you want. I personally don't need much acceleration because going from 130 km/h to 130 km/h on a highway takes 0 seconds, if you know what I mean ;)
getting rid of your car that you purchased brand new after 2 years is the most stupid decision ever (it depreciates the most during those first 2 years)
Yes and no, yes it does technically but It was on finance so it's just a flat rate you pay 'to rent it', it would of cost me the same amount on finance on a 3-4 year old version thats already lost it's majority of depreciation as the interest rate on second hand cars are much higher. So although the car loses much more in actual car value you pay just the same on finance as you would on a car that loses much less value. If I bought it outright cash then yes, mega money lost. But financing new means no repair, serving or mots bills .. Easy motoring! Plus if life changes and you need something more practical you can just swap cars with no big cash inputs, like I need to :)
£500 insurance at 21?!?! That's a madness. I pay £1.2k for a MK7 Golf 1.4 at the age of 25, although I do live in central London so that definitely has an impact haha
Agree with the mileage comment. I bought a brand new 2016 A5 S-line sport coupe (8-speed auto). Very sluggish (compared to the Audi TT I traded in). Now with a full APR Stage 2 Tune, FT Mount Intercooler, Cold Air Intake, Turbo Back Exhaust, and more... It's a great running car. Shouldn't have had to do all that to a car this expensive.
Me 🤣 I drive the V6 Quattro 3.2 and know it is enough power so I drive slowly to save fuel with the family. My car is manual gearbox and very quick! Chipping, K+N filter, drop it and 20inch Vossen wheels bruv. You can adjust fuel use in town etc through proffessional upgrades. Lots of options and that V6 noise!
Exactly the same for me . I had a 2012 manual a5 black edition 2.0 tfsi Quattro that I bought for my first car back in 2016 . Lovely to look at but is definitely lacking in power especially for it being a larger car. Traded it in for a Golf R MK7 4 months ago and the difference is unbelievable
Seems like I'm making the right choice, I'm having my eyes on an A5 2.0 TDI 190 HP with Automatic Transmission, Bang Olufsen Soundsystem, Leather Seats and a lot of extras. It checks the boxes that you disliked on your car. I'm seeing the car owner tomorrow and then I decide if I buy it or not. It has 90.000km is build Q2 2015 and costs me 17.000€.
An s5 would not average the same mpg. Youre getting way less than the average person does. An s5 might advertise around 22mpg but youll never reach those figures. I know its an old video but people are still watching
I get 34 on the freeway in my DSG S5 and 22 around town. It's a stage 2 car as well. Driving habits contribute a lot to mpg. If I drive hard for the week I can get it down to 13mpg.
Just a thought, I have 2012 3.0 litre tdi Sportback ( I have a dog to ). No faults in two years, cheap to run and plenty quick enough unless you are think of taking it to a racetrack.😂
Its all good yes, and I have had near enough the same exact one as in this video since 2015 (TDI Quattro)....but jeez does it COST! Gearbox fault cost me thousands, and only last week, I had to get the door cables and locks replaced as the doors wouldn't open from the outside!
I've got a 12plate 1800 tfsi 82thousand miles it's just had a third water pump I'm told by the. mechanic it's the improved one fingers crossed last one only did 6thou doors are a nitemare huge but sex on wheels appearance wise just to add I've just fitted a third window regulator on the driver door I still love it
No chance mate I got one for £15K with 29000 on the clock you can get Audi A5 black edition with 90000 on the clock for £12K to £11K but no chance with 60 on the clock

Would you not have researched things like real world mpg and done test drives on a few models with different specifications before buying one? Though I do love the look of this car I am genuinely curious.
Hi mate. I am interested in buying this model, but would you say that the 1.8 engine is economical and gives similar performance? In other words would you have gone for the 1.8 model instead?
You got the one with the small boot I have the sportback where the entire back windscreen comes up and the boot is huge. I get 3 dogs in and they can look over at me with the parcel shelf removed, also it's been said a lot that that the 2 litre engine should never have been put in a car so heavy. I have the 3.0 tdi it's 204bhp and pulls but is brilliant on fuel. I didn't get the quattro though which i regret. You just got the wrong version of the right car!
Same thing we did, I had a Subaru B4 Turbo, boot was tiny, couldnt put seats down (loved the roaring sound when you started it up though) had the really loud BBBbbbrr sound (boyracer car ;P ) and we ended up getting a 2017 Vitara Turbo which isnt AS fast, no where near but it carries so much more and I love the space in the car. 😊
The TFSI is a bad platform. Supercharged turbo 😬 The sound is bad... you could get a used Lexus GS300h... that has a lot of punch and is VERY economic. 6l at 130kmh.. or get the GS450h with 292 or 340HP and consumes 8-9l, which is spectacular!
