Love this review, this really helped me make a decision. I'm now the proud owner of a Midnight Blue 2013 A5 and I have to say I absolutely love it.

Thanks for the video mate, I’m also just crept into my 40s and I’m glad I watched until the end.
I had the A4 cabriolet S line which absolutely killed my back. It looks like it’ll be a model with a softer suspension for me then.
    Cheers

MrBellend1977 you are very welcome my friend. Yes comfort is king! It’s weird isn’t it a few years ago it was all about the speed, and looks, now my back has a point to make on every journey 🤣 thanks for your comment buddy good luck with your next Audi. I have heard that the bigger Audi’s like the A7 even with sports setup have a comfortable ride but I guess it’s very subjective

Really great in depth review mate well done, currently considering getting an A5 Coupe. I was gonna go petrol as I currently drive a 2.0TSI Scirocco which is lowered on 19's and pushes 212 BHP so my main concern was the feel of power. The scirocco is very nimble and agile in the bends while still maintaining great acceleration but as I'm 45 now I want a bit more sensible grown up care but would still like a bit of speed when I need it. I was looking at the petrol 225 version of the A5 but they're ultra rare in a decent colour and spec so I've broadened the search to the Diesel now. I think I'm gonna test drive one today but a manual gear box is what I want as I am not a fan of the automatic gearbox as it doesn't feel like driving. You have opened my eyes a little into alternative options I hadn't thought about without the pushy salesman. Thanks

Aaron Somers hey Aaron thanks for the very kind comment mate this is why I do these videos to hopefully cut out the BS and give you my real opinion. Yeah def text drive mate especially if you are used to having a quick car with some poke as you might miss it! I would also say be aware of the diesel tax in cities this is going to become more conmen so if you commute loads and have to go to major cities this may become expensive for you - just a thought. Let me know how your test drive goes they are lovely cars I think you will like the quality. I don’t have mine anymore now have a Range Rover Evoque which I love! Very comfortable will do a review on that next month 😊👍

As for the auto stop/start yes it can be hard coded for be turned off. I use OBDEleven or can use VCDS for program the button to either invert the setting so that it is Off everytime you start the engine or assign it to a memory function whereby it remembers the last setting just like the heater or AC etc...

recently changed my 2011 Audi a6 c7 2.0 tdi with 175 bhp for a 2010 Audi a5 3.0 tdi quattro with 240 bhp and honestly the difference in performance is not as noticeable as i expected ,the A6 was actually quieter and composed at speed ,if i were going again i would stick with 2.o tdi but with quattro..

I live in the UK so lots of wet weather if you live in a country that has better weather then I think the rear rear drive is perfect. 👍

Good video...I had a Audi A4 Quattro and had the 2l d engine and was mapped....felt rapid! Now looking at getting back into Audi and an A5 like this 2015 2l diesel Quattro it's on 110,000miles but one owner and FSH would do you know if the engine has a timing chain or belt?

Generally (but do confirm for your car) the 2 litres are timing belt and 3l are chains.

Still one of the most beautiful cars on the road imo, how'd you find the noise of the diesel? I'm tempted but think I'd prefer the tfsi version, which sucks because there's some nice deals on the diesel

I think you are right it's still one of the best looking cars on the road. The diesel sound you only really notice on a cold start. Once your driving you don't notice it plus I am usually listening to music so it really makes no difference in my opinion

G 1312 I had this car for 2 and a half years and had no problems at all. Even my older A5 which I sold at 85000 miles never had any issues. I bought both these cars from Audi so they had full Audi service history. If you want to make sure they are reliable get one with a full Audi service history hope that helps you

Man this could not come at a better time, literally viewing a 2013 A5 2.0 TDI Black Edition manual tomorrow morning. Thinking of trading it for my e92 BMW 320d Coupé. Think it would be a nice progression? I have the dreaded N47 engine so have timing chain paranoia and the ride is quite firm to be honest. Thanks, Joe.

BehindyouJoey hi Joe, yes I think this would be a great progression for you not in terms of power but more from a looks/build and design. It’s a lovely car mate and you will love it I’m sure. Just be aware of the very few things I mentioned like rear space and ride comfort but I guess once you have your test drive you can get a good idea for those things. Hope it goes well thanks for your comment 👍😊

One of the most popular diesel engines used across the VW group range I don't think your description is accurate. No, it's not as powerful as a 3.0 litre (how could it be) but for everyday driving it's a great engine with fantastic economy.
