Seriously, my BFF is a sound engineer, and the great ones rarely get noticed because they do their job so well that you take for granted that they're there. This engineer killed it!
Maybe I missed the point by not reading all comments _or_ not being a native english speaker to get it right ... but I love the bass - the way it's played, the sound, the mix ... like from me! And to avoid any discussion - this referes of course to the bass player and not the wood ... ;-)
The energy is nuclear in this performance. Killer playing, I wish to have half of this funk in the future. Edit : that bass line is illegal in 17 countries.
I followed the main squeeze for the singer and guitarist. They are friggin amazing.....then I tune in and the drummer blows me away....then the keys.....then the horns.....this band isn't just awesome, its an education. Its like a basketball team with 5 superstar point guards that somehow figured out how to be awesome together!!!!! You guys are am inspiration and are an example of just having fun!
I can't imagine seeing this hurricane of a performance live. Just on the vid there is so much power it cracks through the screen and makes you jump to the groove.
these guys are seriously the best organized and timed band out there atm.... everything so tight yet so much soul packed into every detail!! world class!
I am sorry to be commenting once again over the same video, but my brain could simply not grasp it all at once. Having just heard a second time now, I must admit this was the most outstanding performance I have heard from this band. Every single time, you surprise me in a different, yet most wonderful and fresh way. Its a band unlike any other, where their product seems to come out of a willingness to surpass the best of themselves and bring to the audience a work of art, full of detail, care and hard work. They ("you" maybe, if I have the honour to speak to a reader from the band ) could have stayed with the "same old song", exact same setting, music style, length of recording, sound effects, and sell their work to the fans, ultimately following a band career as all the rest, but instead.....oh boy, they prefer jumping into the wild like this and experimenting over and over again. But the result....well that I'm sure you just heard, there is quality in everything, even in the guy who probably brought the red carpet to the Studio. Be sure to have this clear in your minds, you will not find such fine team work such as this, so hear it, love it and share it!
Can't wait to see what happens when they bring a professional Kazoo player to their recording sessions. The connections of this people are just pure gold!
I've seen this band live 5 or 6 times and they've always been tight but it really seems they're reaching new levels of funk, groove, and just pure musical joy during quarantine. When there is a post-Covid tour I will be in the front row.
my husband and I thoroughly enjoy everything you artists put out. The talent of your group is far under valued. We love you and appreciate you sharing your music with us! Keep your passion shining through!
Wow! These guys are phenomenal. How could I have not known about this band? Support them by buying their music and merchandise. I have to see them when they tour. I'm speechless.
So astonishing. This is a concert for free in spirit of the great JB. Eat and sleep and heal well knowing that you have done honors to a great Big Man who has passed from this world, the great James Brown ❤❤❤
I don't know if it's even possible for you fellas to disappoint. I keep coming in with sky-high expectations, and leaving with those expectations smashed. Never stop.
Coming from a musician and guitarrist myself: You guys are absolutely AWESOME!! I discovered you guys around 1~2 years ago from youtube recomendations and since then your videos and lives are always playing here in my house!! Cheers from BRAZIL! And keep up the good work!! I love when you put your own style into the cover!
I'm a simple man, I see The Main Squeeze put out a new cover or song, I click on it, I click like, and listen, I know what to expect, they never disappoint.
Although the entire band is incredible, that bass line everyone is replying to that's rolling this timeless tune along is not only from the awesome chops from a talented bassist but also that he has his hands wrapped around that Sire Marcus Miller V10 bass to showcase it. The entire Sire line of instruments is dripping with workmanship and quality:) BTW- the entire band has a great chemistry, hope you all continue to do this more often!
The trumpet flange effect was super-cool, and as a trumpet player, this has to be one of my favorite renditions of this song! The whole band is incredibly talented, but I was thrilled to hear the brass solos (especially such good ones!) in addition to the rest. The groove was real! Edit: 10:25 that squeal was smoo-ooooth!
OH HELL!. I'm 24 seconds in and I had to stop to thank you guys. Made my freakin' day! Oh, my brothers, how I long for the days of live concerts and seeing y'all on stage again.
Woah !it tore serious !!!Very good funk !!!Very good musicians,singer.....It groove !I dance 🕺🕺.Thank for this beautiful moment, guys !♥️♥️♥️🎶🎶🎶🤗.Love James Brown the Godfather.🙏♥️
So I'm like oh that would be a perfect cover for them. Didn't know I needed it. Then the intro about the candy stripes and the McConaughey edit. Freaking gold.
Excellent performance y'all. I worked-out on my bass along with it. And like it says in the comments below, fantastic sound engineering to bring it all across so nicely. You know it when congas sound that crisp. Cheers from London.
We just announced a huge tour! Get your tickets at squeezetour.com and we’ll see you on the road 🤘
This wasn’t a song. It wasn’t even a jam. It was a party, and everybody was there. You did James proud.
...And Brotha’ James was there. Just look to the shadows...
🕺🏽🎼🕺🏽🎼🙏🏽
@@richmck007 agreed. You can’t get this funky and him not appear to join the jam from beyond.
The sound engineer who set up the mixing is a real pro.
Sadly we are underappreciated. But that makes it fun, at the very least for me.
You can even see the X-32 in the corner. Nice console.

@@joyathanasius21 As a pro musician - thank you guys.
True!!
Seriously, my BFF is a sound engineer, and the great ones rarely get noticed because they do their job so well that you take for granted that they're there. This engineer killed it!
The bass is mixed waaaaaaaay out front*
*Exactly where it should be
Their crew does all the things just right.
accurate
i miss the bass, bro

And even if it would hit separete like buttons for every single musician in this video - as a bass player double-like for the drummer here!!! Great!
That's one of the coolest trombone solos ever!
Now now, the world can't run without a fine black man singin some funk. Amen.
The energy is nuclear in this performance.
Killer playing, I wish to have half of this funk in the future.
Edit : that bass line is illegal in 17 countries.
I’m sick and my only prescription is more of that bassline
Explore the space!
Dr. Funk is here to deliver!
and more cowbell !!! ..... :D
If you overdose we can inject you with pure treble to bring you back.

Agreed...but you didn't mention THAT DAAAAMN BASS YO
THE BASS
Doctor: you only have 15 minutes to live.
me: can you get me 13 more seconds?
Amazing hahaha
@@MainSqueezeMusic ❤❤
i think i'd still watch the first 15 min of Slane Castle ;)
Yeah! GET UP NOW
Maaaan playing in a band like this is the fucking dream! You guys keep going! The world needs this energy! Love your music!!
great jam, but we must give some love to Jonathan D. (engineer) and Reuben G. (mixing)...Sounds so good!
I can't imagine seeing this hurricane of a performance live. Just on the vid there is so much power it cracks through the screen and makes you jump to the groove.

15 minutes of pure funk! That's the spirit. I love it!!!

That guitar solo - just goosebumps! What a talent! I would have loved for him to elaborate a bit more.

I honestly believe James would be proud of this band.
I've never heard better cover for this song, it's the best with miles ahead. It is simply extraordinary.
What an amazing start to my day, got out of bed dancing! Thank you!
Probably the most timeless artist I’ve seen in my lifetime.
I've seen this band live 5 or 6 times and they've always been tight but it really seems they're reaching new levels of funk, groove, and just pure musical joy during quarantine. When there is a post-Covid tour I will be in the front row.
My neck has been successfully worked out.

My booty has been successfully worked out. Wait a minute… That didn’t come out right.

The funkiest cover you didn't know you needed in your life until now. Hot damn!
That feeling when you get to the trombone solo, and realize there's still 10 minutes left on this ride.
Everybody is afraid to do James Brown. This band NAILS IT!
You guys make an amazing band! Every single one of you are connected to each other and to the music!

Guys, you killed it with this. JB would be proud!
Sho did
James Brown would have fined each of them $20, just because he could.
Just saw this cover on TikTok immediately had to come watch it this is incredible amazing job
