If anyone is where I was, take this or leave it, I'm not your mother, but once you cut out the drinking life will get unimaginably worse. Depression, anxiety, for me even suicidal thoughts at times, but all of that shit is temporary. You'll wake up one day, cant tell you exactly when, but all of the sudden when you're just be going about your day you'll realize, "Holy shit. I'm like, actually happy right now, and I'm kind of excited to just be here". Life is still hard at times, you'll get sad, hurt, anxious and even depressed, but when you're not trying to self medicate those times are fleeting and life becomes something that you *want* to do, not something you *have* to do

Living healthy doesn't mean you live longer but it definitly feels longer
You will live longer if you live healthy. Konger than who or what is anyone's guess, but you can't get maximum years out of life living like shit.
The importance of keeping the body hydrated is becoming more and more important for overall, optimum function/ longevity. Drinking my be doable and fun when you're younger, but you will pay the toll bigtime as you get older, especially if you're smoking cigarettes, too.

@@iananderson8288 You sound defensive and insecure, my dude. This guy studies this stuff as it was his job as a neuroscientist. You know one more fact… anything you do regularly for years that you suddenly stop can cause you stress an anxiety. Chewing your nails, exercising daily, walking your dog….wow! Am I a utube genius now?!!
I was a serial beer drinker from the age of 16 to 48. And in that time drinking went from feeling happy and fun to miserable and pathetic. Sober 24 years now and loving every day. Quitting alcohol was the absolute best, most important thing I ever did for myself.

@@billydeewilliams9104
Alcohol is the one drug that withdrawing from can actually kill you. You DEFINITELY need to be under professional medical care to stop drinking, brother. That you would like to stop is the first step (sounds cliche' but, damn, what you had to go through to get here). You are not alone. Here in this chain of comments and, especially, in AA meetings.
Let me come clean to a fellow sufferer. I actually did not do any of all the stuff AA prescribes. Wasn't for me. BUT I went to tons and tons of meetings. And that's how I got past the urge, the craving.
I am not putting down AA at all. Just saying that I achieved my goal to not drink through meetings. It's like learning that you have all these brothers and sister you never knew about.
You can do this, brother
Peace and Love to you
Guys he’s just stating facts, do what you want.
1 month sober now - has been really challenging so far pushing away similarly addicted friends for sobriety because alcohol binge used to be a ritual among us.
Usually started with one drink till I used to become a bottomless pit.
Lesson learnt:
1 drink is not always one drink
No drinks is always no drinks.
I've done a few bad decisions in life, but drinking was definitely the worst for me. It's mind blowing to me that alcohol is just as bad of a drug as any others(to an extent), yet it is widely accepted all around the world. I've lost a couple of relatives and friends because of alcohol, and I'm lucky that I realized it sooner than later that it wasn't good for me. I wouldn't say I'm a saint now, but I've definitely grown out of my bad decisions, and I'm only trying to be better from there on forward
Speaking from experience there nothing good waiting for you at the bottom of the bottle. Coming up on 5 years soon. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It would have been better if I hadn’t ever started.
I am an alcoholic and I feel those pains every morning and I know it's because of not having a drink in a while, but I also experience this while I drink. Its until in feeling intoxicated I don't feel that pain anymore, at least till the next morning!!!!
I'm so sorry 😔, Ik it's super hard, i hope one day u don't have to feel like that. 🙏

Remember to stay hydrated and nutritionally stable. This makes a huge difference when consuming.
Never drank in my life and I'm 28 now and honestly I don't have that much stress, yes I deal with moments in life, who doesn't, but the nice thing is never having to crave to meditcate my stress because "I can't handle it"
I know what you mean...I'm 51 and never really drink unless it was wine with a meal.
honestly I find stress to be difficult but drinking would just add more stress for me.
I am 27 and never drank. And will never drink except once to get the taste maybe. I want to live a full life without the wretchedness of drugs, booze and cigarettes.
Im the exact opposite of you at 28, the anxiety is and was immeasurably unbearable. Good on you for not being a part of this shit cycle.
At least you get happiness for a few minutes. I swear to God, it is worthy. What good of this body, health etc etc if I have no peace and happiness?
Never stressed, I drink everyday, because I like it. I don't worry about shit I can't do anything about. An, I don't get into other people's business. Works great.

True. People who are prone to anxiety experience it worse after a drinking bout, esp if its a heavy one.

When I was in my 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and used to drink regularly I would only be able to enjoy life when I was actually in the act of drinking. When I wasn’t drinking I felt irritable and impatient and was just biding my time until I could drink again and get that ‘high’. It was a vicious cycle. Would never want to go back to it.

Did you listen to that clip ? Of course that person wont experience more stress / more anxiety after drinking, if he doesnt stop drinking. Yes you might have a relative healthy and long life, but from my experience "alcoholics" arent even aware of the changes in character they make when drinking in comparison to being sober.
Specially counts for a person who doesnt even stop in the first place. If youre permanently in a state of euphoria, chances are high that you feel like thats fine
