Notes for myself: -never leave a question blank; if you wanna go back to it make an educated guess -if you have to guess, guess the SAME letter -'easier' questions are the ones most people get wrong, go through them slowly -check your work right after you do a problem (or page) -go into the easiest passages first READING -read the evidence first then answer the anchor question -on historical reading sections: *look for MC answers that are similar to what's being said in the text MATH -on calc: *practice mental math (i.e. r/t word problems)
You have to, have to, have to know all the operations available in the APPS and MATH menus on your TI-84. The math section is a calculator steeplechase.
I want to clarify something important: everyone has their own way of doing things. Watching videos on SAT tips and tricks doesn't help you sometimes. Most tips and tricks videos tell you their way of studying and doing the questions. They could be like "passage first, then questions" or "look at the questions first, then read the passage" and "the answer is obviously D for this question, look at the passage it mentions it" and think that they helped you. You might feel more confident after watching one of these videos, but in truth these videos do not help you at all if you just started studying for the SAT. The people making these tips and tricks videos already have a advanced mindset by learning from their own experience. For example, as I mentioned earlier, one of the people in the tips and tricks could be like "the answer is obviously D for this question, look at the passage it mentions it" which would seem really easy, but in truth, it's not easy at all. If you had just started studying for the SAT you wouldn't be able to identify and analyze the passage like the person in this video, which is a huge problem: the questions that you think are extremely hard are just basic questions to the "tips and tricks" people and they will think that you already know how to analyze so they will give you some tips like "look at the passage the author says blah blah blah and it is related to the answer choice D so the answer is D for this question" which would make the beginners think they understand but actually makes no sense for them. If you still don't understand what i'm saying, here is how a tips and tricks person would react to a question: Question: The author mentions "sharpener shavings" (line 10) in order to portray a mood of A: unrestrained joy B: sentimental reminiscence C: bitter disappointment D: cautious optimism Tips and tricks person: C because you can obviously make a inference in what mood the author is trying to portray Average beginner studying for the SAT: ohhhh i get it now (but actually it doesnt help him/her at all
@@chloe-jz8bb I recommend you do what @badprofilepic882 suggests. You should do a bunch of practice sets first, then start watching tips and tricks videos.

so, international students can only get the DSAT? And I have another question, do wrong answers subtract points, or should i answer all of the questions? Thank you!
As an international student I am planning to start preparing for the DSAT which I will take in December. Where can I find such fruitful videos from your respected team? Thanks in advance!
I am also an international student. I don't really know the difference between the SAT and the DSAT and all of those. I also don't know if wrong choices subtract points, or if i should answer every question (i've been searching for answers, but every website says something different). PLEASE i would love if you could help me! Thank you
@@soufala The SAT has no penalty for wrong answers. You receive 1 point for every correct answer, 0 points for every question you leave unanswered, and 0 points for every incorrect answer. It is advisable to attempt every question, even if you are unsure of the answer. All questions are worth the same points so it is best to spend your time on the easy ones rather than spending 1/3 of your time on five hard questions as well.

nice work dear. but i prefer to recommend my students to solve sat paper in loop by solving easy questions first and leaving difficult questions for the end of paper. means that it will take less time to sole easy questions and then there will be enough time to solve few difficult time consuming questions.
I'm a little confused on the explanation for the evidence-based questions on the reading section- each passage has its own answer attached to it, so how would you find the correct answer from the evidence and the question before alone? Or did I just misunderstand something?
What I’ve done before is to read the question in part1, then read the lines given in part2 to decide which piece best supports a claim to the first question. Then I would answer the first
Honestly, I think you should pick the best answer, then pick the evidence that explains your answer the most in the previous question. However, you need to be very careful that you do not pick the answer that simply ignores the question and touches base with context of the question. A lot of the time, the quote questions will describe something else in the passage, but not the question itself.
