I just rebuilt my 2007 Chevrolet 4L60E following Jimmy's tutorials and it works again! Fantastic video series and presentation. Never thought I'd attempt this procedure but he made it easy as well as ordering the parts I needed. Highly recommended, thanks Jimmy!
@@dnegel9546 I have a pretty good selection of basic mechanic tools but made the spring compressors out of scrap bits of leftover steel and bolts and nuts
@@rivenmotors7981 did you reuse the stock converter??? I keep reading that it should always be replaced... However I also see people buying used converters? I'm extremely broke. So if I can reuse mines I'll do that. The problem I have is I lost 3/4th gear.
@@dnegel9546 I did everything I could do to mine so I wouldn't have to do the job a second time. I use it for work and didn't have any help during teardown and assembly. Avoiding doing this again if I can help it.
@@rivenmotors7981 what are your thoughts on this rebuild kit? cyclonetransmission.com/collections/4l60e/products/4l60e-transmission-high-performance-rebuild-stage-5-with-upgrades I'm super nervous about doing this myself. But I have watched the videos several times and I don't see anything that I can't do. Mines is going on a 97 camaro lt1.
Thanks for these sets of videos. Now people can save around $1000 and just rebuild their transmission their self. I found your channel trying to see of my 1999 yukon transmission will fit in my 2001 tahoe. Both are the 4L60E, but after watching your video I found out that they used a different bell housing and torque converter so they will not interchange. Thanks for all the information.
What parts are included with the super deluxe kit? Is a separator plate, solinoids, imput drum, pistons, servo, bearing set? It's not listed or stated.
Mr. Williams when you say mineral spirits , which types or brands do you use ? I bought a container from home depot that said mineral spirits, but when I started cleaning with it , it did not do a very good job.
Could you please help me out with a definitive answer? On my 05 4WD Suburban, should the fluid be able to pass by the output shaft and into the tail shaft housing / center mount to the transfer case? I have been told that there should not be fluid in this center housing bracket, but on a 2WD there would be some fluid that reaches the driveshaft, so I am thinking this is normal and should have fluid in it. AWESOME videos as well... I have also been afraid to even think of tackling an automatic, but feel confident in rebuilding on with this video in my shop. If you could reply back about the fluid, it would help out a lot. If this is normal, I do not have to tear into the transmission and can just replace a cracked tail shaft / housing assy. Otherwise... out she has to come!
Bought the super deluxe package and am halfway through. Just need the spring tool. Going to make one at work today. My truck will be alive again this time next week yay!

thank you very much instructor
I'd love to see an older transmission say a Touqrflite.
Will you guys do a video series of the ford 6F35 transmission in the future?

I find acetone to work where mineral spirits fail. cleaned trans fluid stains on my driveway with it.
IS it beneficial to drop the pan and change the fluid @100k miles?
or
leave it be?
If you’ve never changed it before I wouldnt

On my 2wd there is an open passage between the two, angled so that fluid would flow back to the pan
Is a 4l65e the same?
Thanks
what's the going price of THIS? I'm very interested in doing mine
Visit his online store for pricing. They ain't cheap but neither is a trans shop!
