  • Join me for the this guided cruise port tour of Port Chalmers, New Zealand. Port Chalmers has a rich history dating back to the early 19th century, when it was established as a trading and fishing port. The town was named after the Scottish theologian Thomas Chalmers, and has a strong Scottish heritage that is still evident today. Port Chalmers is home to a number of historical landmarks, including the Dunedin Chinese Garden, which was built in the late 19th century to honor the town's early Chinese settlers. The town is also home to a thriving arts community, with a number of galleries, studios, and performance spaces showcasing the work of local artists. Overall, Port Chalmers is a charming and vibrant town that offers something for everyone.
A portion of this trip was paid for by Holland America Line.

As someone who grew up in Dunedin, I never thought I'd see you in my town! I have always been wary of what the cruise passengers feel about these small places far away, and was very nervous watching because we just don't have the dedicated tourist infrastructure places with larger populations can provide. Thank you for your sweet open minded nature and now I finally have some videos I can link my friends in the States to so they can see what its like over here

Awe, you guys should have picked some up! The Australians/New Zealander's do something called a TimTam Slam. You get a cup of Hot Chocolate, and a Tim Tam, and you dip the TimTam in the hot choco, using it as a straw. Once the TimTam is saturated you then eat it! It is a fun little thing to do in the winter.
