Haha, I tried that one year with commercials during college basketball (March Madness). I decided I was going to do 10 every commercial break... I think that lasted maybe one quarter of the game. Way too many commercials.
I was here two years ago, 15/10. I loved picton, the bridge, watching the stingrays float by. And the ferry... undescribable... beautiful editing. Thank you for bringing me back to memory lane!
Two of the most enjoyable people on UA-cam. What a pleasure it is to travel with you. I have always wanted to visit New Zealand but doubt that I will ever get the opportunity to do so which make this video series so great. Thanks so much Danger and Stacey...you're awesome!

Only recently came across your channel looking for inspiration for my Fiancé and I’s Honeymoon in the South Island!! ✨ I have now watched so many of your videos and love them all 💛
Bringing back more memories. I walked the Queen Charlotte's track and the Abel Tasmin. Also did some kayaking on the Abel Tasmin. Such good memories and the best views.
This series just keeps delivering! Definitely sharing your excitement for South Island as it looks very different in character to North Island already 👍
I briefly worked in Picton for a month and a half while backpacking through NZ. It's a small town, but as someone who enjoys casual hiking, I had fun. Seeing your shots of town brought back a lot of memories!
That was fun. 78 years ago I was born in Wellington and we made many trips across to Picton. You were both very lucky. Wow did we have some rough trips on the Tamahine once it was so bad we went up on the bridge and sat in the Captains cabin - he was a friend. At one point my Dad went down to use the toilet and he said he had to step over all these seasick bodies lying in the passage. How times have changed. I do remember once on a calm trip watching a shoal of flying fish soaring out of the water. I think they might have been sword fish.
A non-rainy, absolutely gorgeous day for you two! A nice, comfy looking cabin on the ferry. I didn't realize ferries had cabins. Looked like a gorgeous trip! Also, unless you want to cry like a baby and be thoroughly devastated, I don't recommend watching "A Dog's Purpose".
Lovely, absolutely lovely😊 We've done the Harwich to Esbjerg Denmark route overnight with cabin but this one you did was beautiful. Can't wait for your next episode as you head further south. Best wishes, James and Kim
That sounds like a great way to travel, there's nothing quite like waking up in the morning in a brand new destination! Next episode just went up, hope you guys enjoy it 😁
30 odd years ago, a friend and me snuck onto the InterIslander ferry (that's what it was called back then) in a car boot haha. The things you had to do when you were hitch-hiking and on the dole.
So kind guys, we really appreciate that! We've definitely poured our hearts & souls into this NZ series! Sadly the nose surgery, shoulder surgery and double calf surgeries stopped him from playing (which I'm secretly happy about) 😋
Another fantastic video as always! Might need some kind of detox when this series is over. It will be sad, such great ambassadors to your beautiful country! Coffee is good!
You got such a good day to do the crossing!! The last time I went it was so choppy and raining like crazy. Another amazing vlog guys, your energy and enthusiasm is just what I needed 😃 Looking forward to your next episode!
We've done the crossing over the cook straight a few times and it's soooooo cool! We got a cabin on our last crossing because it was a night crossing and we drove all the way through to Christchurch, it was so nice to have a sleep
Interesting to see that you went for a cabin for the three hour ferry crossing - I did the same on my crossing last year (booked very spontaneously on board) and I think it was really worth it. I was on an Interislander ferry, but the price for the cabin was the same (40 NZD) and even included four vouchers for hot beverages (with a value of up to 19 NZD). In short, I think anybody doing the crossing should consider getting a cabin - there is lots to see at the beginning and towards the end of the crossing but for the middle part of the journey it's nice to have a private place to relax.
We agree, the cabin is completely worth it! So nice to have a private space and restroom - it's an added bonus if you have a window so you can see when to go out on deck to check out the scenery!
When I was in Picton (I booked it whilst in Motueka) I went on one of the mailboat runs ... an interesting day on the Sounds, learnt heaps about the area, met some interesting people including a journalist who was writing an article for I think the Air NZ magazine ... some grumpy cyclists who were annoyed that the mail boat wasn't on time and the reason why the skipper had dog biscuits! It was a great way to be on the water... The very best mail run though wasn't there but on another of my journeys last year in Whanganui where I was the only passenger, become a mail drop off person, met a lot of sheep, went to church (no others) and endured a large slip which delayed us a bit until the road repair people came by... oh it rained nearly alll day long!
So happy to see the fabulous weather that you had for the crossing! The views are so stunning. Didn't seem too windy outside. How was the food on the ferry?
Great video... Heaps of helpful information and so detailed. How were you able to get the great ferry sailing footage.... I wouldn't have thought you would be allowed to fly a drone there.... Very cool.
Hmmm... Crossing time is similar to Tallinn to Helsinki, but with more (outside) to look at... ♥ So, provided it's not pissing with rain, an enjoyable li'l boat ride... ☺

@@DanegerAndStacey that doesn't make it the best. It makes it the most suitable for you at the time theres a major difference. As far as sailing times go most of the time interislander is running 3 ships to bluebridges 2 and normally interislander is on time and bluebridge are frequently late. Last time I traveled bluebridge it was over 2 hours late in leaving and I checked in on time and we received no notification etc from the company that there was a delay so we were left sitting in the car wondering what was happening for over 3 hours. Never had anything like that with interislander they communicate regularly and apologize if they are late. So I disagree on your broad statement claiming bluebridge to be the best.
