Stripping to fight the draconic tree sentinel is mandatory for this boss, I remember my first playthrough, he kicked my ass 4-5 times straight but I had him at 1hp on the last one, respawned, stripped down to the undies, seppuku and go nuts. I remember you could sneak behind him and use poison mist, not sure if it works anymore but if anyone can confirm and try it. Don’t Agro him, and sneak behind him, spam poison mist and he shouldn’t get aggressive unless you make a noise or something
Summon hammer guy and use great glintstone shards and just do more damage than he can to your helper, phase 2 gets a little shotty but as long as you have like 5 ceruleans you should be alr
Fun fact : you dont need a single kukri , if your good at the game . You can get him to the edge my just luring him via walking then when hes near the edge just aggro him to begin to fight , parry his overhead attack them go behind him quickly and hit him with a light attack Extra tip : if your not good at parrying you can equip a buckler shield ( sold by Nomadic Merchant that is in the southern part of the map , then equip said buckler shield with the golden parry or carian retaliation AoW ( golden parry requires you to get the the atlus plateau) (carrian retaliation is in carian Manor which is pretty late game )and youve increased your oarry chane by 3x !😮

You can also summon dwarf with golden rune behind stake of marika. Then scarlet rot him 2 3 times while the companion tanks him. he will tick away. Damage him every now and then. He dies easy
He's a big skill check where you may or may not be underpowered by the time you reach him due to the open world nature of the game. Not everybody will be checked, but lots will.

If you find him turning back, can always try to throw a kukri to get his attention again. You might be going slow, but you might be too far away still.
It was different for you 3 months ago and could have been patched, but now he will disappear when he tries to go back and respawns at his starting location.

With the Uchi, I believe you can do 2 unsheathed R2s then a final charge R2. Not entirely sure on the other weapons. It's been a little while since I tested this one.

You have to be throwing a kukri, the bow is just for aiming. It should still be relatively close to him when you throw one. Maybe like 6 feet away from him
I made a mistake. It's 2 Charged R2s and an uncharged R2 for the stun combo

It might be possible, never really explored it because he is an optional boss. You can run right past him into the boss fight.

Red lightning means you've started the fight. You have to do this without actually making the fight start.
No matter what i do he doesnt stagger. Using iron balls or unsheathe

Yeah it will be different depending on weapons, safe bet is just use the iron balls I use here. Easy to get, don't have to level them either.
I don't know why but it doesn't work for me. He either steps away from the cliff or he is a pixel away from falling of and then kills me 😢
You might be attacking too early, and he may be a little too far away from the cliff. You should wait until he fully turns around before hitting him.

Yup! The sound the kukri makes is really loud, no other throwable makes a loud enough sound to lure him to where you want him.
I use bloodhounds fang but it doesnt work, is it because the charge attack is too slow with the weapon?
It could be a combination of that and the amount of stun damage it does per charged attack.
At first it wasn’t working but it still works as of Jan 2024

Yeah this fight can depend on when you run into him for the first time haha. Some find him early, some when they're well equipped and leveled.
