I am Kayla with MOUNTAIN CREEK STABLES, a family-friendly equestrian channel with how tos, hauls, collections, vlogs, and more. Our story is that since 2016, MOUNTAIN CREEK STABLES has had a mission to go to horse auctions and private sales to find horses who have potential that has just not be realized and then produce them to be performance horses. I specialize in producing dressage and eventing horses. As I have been retraining and rehoming these horses over the last few years, I have found what qualities I am looking for and so I have decided to expand to a small herd of breeding mares. Each year, I plan to produce one to two foals that will be available for sale to the public. Our first foal is due March 20, by my new forever horse With me without me aka Winnie. She has a wonderful confirmation, temperament, gaits, and ride ability. She is a 15.3 hh thoroughbred mare that has been bred to Pearl Harlan a stocky ranch bred perlino stud. Man isn't it a little to soon to offer that foal up for sale? Talk about feeling like an unwanted red headed step child. I would think that she wouldn't be put up for sale till she is 2 or so.

It is very typical for foals to be put up for sale before weaning. They of course will not leave until much later this fall once the appropriate time for weaning is upon us. This is my first year of breeding primarily for the purpose of creating quality horse stock to add to my region. It can be so difficult to find well bred horses in my area that are not over 15,000. If these foals did not sell well, I would not continue my breeding program and I would keep them to train them under snaffle as well. Exciting though that the buckskin has already been sold and his new owner is so excited to start their journey together! The bay colt is not sold yet at this time.
