I feel like “baby blue” also symbolizes how Walt felt about meth, at the end it was not about money business anymore for him, it was about him being the king of meth, about having the recognition that the one and only Heisenberg was the one that came up with that pure meth. The way that he succeed at the end, getting revenge for Hank, providing money for his family, not only saving Jesse but knowing that he succeeded as a chemist and a teacher for Jesse, since Jesse was making pure meth. And most importantly how he got rid of his enemies at the end, including Lydia. He even defeated cancer at the end, since cancer didn’t get to kill him but his own bullet did. He died knowing that he succeeded.

I think the silent acting in this show is by far one of it's best features. Notice how throughout the entire series we never need to hear what's going on inside a characters mind, rather we're shown by little details what they're feeling. 1. Walter is back where he began, the lab
    2. Walter looks at the gas mask and notices how Jesse, even in captivity, had safety as a priority, something Walter tried getting Jesse to do in the first episode
    3. Walter finally taught someone something
    4. He is back at the place where he felt truly alive, despite his destructive talent.
My only criticism was that the build up was too easy. In reality, Walter faced minor difficulties. But, I guess he is a genius after all. He used his knowledge to an advantage. Gosh bless

Towards the end of the show I was already heartbroken because I realized there was no way the two could have a happy ending after everything, but that final nod of respect and forgiveness means so much. It reminds me of “4 Days Out” where he does everything he can to take care of things before dying since it was the perfect time.
But in “4 Days Out”, Walt is robbed of that chance to die. But here, Walt freely gives it up to save Jesse when he throws them both to the floor. Walt accepts that he may be caught and imprisoned for the world to see and slowly die of his cancer in prison if it meant saving Jesse.

People act as if it's wrong for us to still love Walt, despite all he's done. Even Vince Gilligan thinks you should hate him by the end of the show, but we still don't, and I'll tell you why.
We love Walt because he's human, he is flawed, so horribly flawed. But he often did the right thing, or at least what he thought was the right thing. We want so desperately for him to do the right thing as we watch his soul, and empathy slip away. Only for him to pull it back, and try to right his wrongs, and help the people he hurt. He's not a hero, he's a man who lost himself to the darkness of greed, and hubris, only to claw himself back into the light in what little time he had left. Redemption? Not by a long shot, he cannot be redeemed, but he tried, and that's all you can ever do.

The final scene is amazing it shows a man who is content. He did everything he had to do. He got the money to his kids, killed the nazis that killed hank, freed jessie and admitted to his wife that he did everything cause he liked it. In the end walt lost everything friends, family, kids but he felt alive, he felt like he was the best at something and if we could ask walt if he would do it all over again i bet he would without hesitating he felt alive and that mattered more to him.

I love the symbolism of his death being a self-inflicted gun shot. Walter White’s greatest enemy truly was himself.

i watched this scene about 7 years ago even though i had never seen breaking bad i somehow stumbled across it. now i just finished watching the show (watched all of it in like a week) and it's so crazy how much more emotional it is watching this after understanding everything that had happened.

surprised nobody mentioned this but walter sacrificed himself for jesse. he perfectly calculated where he would need to be to kill everyone in that room and survive but when he saw jesse he decided to save him of course at the expense of himself. the song baby blue can even be interpreted as a message to jesse and of course his blue sky
“kept you waiting there too long my love”

That would be cool, but in my opinion this ending was better because he was weak from that wound and just needed to give one last admiration to the work he enjoyed so much and had learned for many years.

That look Walter and Jessie give each other at the end really shows how thankful Jessie is about mr white even though he thinks Walt only wants him because he’s helping him. It makes me sad they couldn’t end with both of them appreciating each other but Walt definitely shows he’s proud of Jessie when he taps the meters and baby blue starts playing almost for sure that song represents the time Walter and Jessie spent together throughout their relationship from more than just cooking together like in 5 days

My favorite thing about this season is that in the season 5 opener they show Walt in this state buying the M60 machine gun. They had no idea what they were doing, Uncle Jack wasn’t even developed as a character yet.

I just binged watched it on Netflix and I couldn’t put it down! What an awesome, addicting and remarkable show. It kept me on the edge of my seat each and every episode. I’m gonna watch it again with my wife, she’s never seen it. I absolutely loved the ending with the bad finger song , it fit so perfectly

I almost wish the music wasn’t there so it would seem even more solemn and lonely for Walt, as everyone he worked with and got close with is either dead or left him.
