I heard somewhere that Marilyn could go out without makeup wearing a raincoat and a headscarf and not be recognized. That's how important the makeup was to the creation of the legend.
Soo.....I found your channel through a chance happening upon your history of makeup brief (I am a history buff). I am a male and a bread baker, but I am absolutely CAPTIVATED by each of your videos. I've always found the art of makeup alluring but you've really shown how incredible it really is. I don't normally "request" things of people on youtube but I am compelled to ask you to do more videos featuring yourself. It seems more personal and you have such a great face for makeup! I also think a traditional geisha look would be really cool....its such a time honored ritual. Keep up the absolutely incredible work! Subscribed!
I was reading the comments on this video and yes, it is way more easier to do a look on a young and stunning girl, that is true. But don't forget that Lisa has already proven big time that she can do perfect make-up on a mature woman, on all kind of eye shapes and all kind of skin types. So yes, there's true artistry in every single make-up.
It's kinda just like any other time you're getting ready for a shoot or runway, you just can't have really any convo like normal, I normally get kinda sleepy haha, it's relaxing in a way
+Keara_mccullough I don't doubt that I would fall right to sleep! :) Lisa's voice is so calming in her videos they almost put me to sleep just watching! Haha! love her.
I swear, Lisa just sees and brings out the absolutely stunning and unique beauty in all her models. Of course they're all beautiful to start, and this girl is gorgeous as she is, but something about Lisa's work just does this amazing thing of turning everyone she touches into an ethereal creature of stardust! I honestly think there is no woman that Lisa couldn't make look beautiful. It makes me really want her to do my makeup, because I think she'd make me love parts of my face that I've never even thought of before.
I've been doing that sort of thick eyeliner with peachy lip/blush look all my life because it just suited me the best and after I learned about different makeup trends in history I realized I was doing the 50's and 60's sort of makeup look lol...
I love her brows! They're very wolf like which is a good thing. Natural is always best. I think more girls should stop plucking and waxing their brows.
She is the rocket scientist of make up. look at how many products she has in her inventory. And to pick the right ones for the different types of skin for different type of looks is mind boggling. I mean how does she know. And not to mention the different types of brushes she use. I am a guy. I'm just wondering how she figures them all out. I know most of you ladies are as baffled as I am? Don't you feel?
Gorgeous look! I am so envious of her brows. My brows disappeared during the 90s grunge/skinny brow look, and never returned. Now I know better! All you girls/women with thick brows--put the tweezers down!
She is so beautiful! In the last shot where she has her hair down, she really reminds me of Daphne Groeneveld in the Dior Addict advert. Lovely makeup.
It's aggravating that people think skinny, arched eyebrows are the only beautiful eyebrows. I LOVE girls with thick, a little unkempt eyebrows. There's something artistic and unconventional about it.
***** I like them a tad unkept too, but my brows I like to fill in and disguise because one is straight and the other is arched. Both are thick and the same length, just different shapes.
Unkempt/on the natural side give a certain youthfulness as well. Not immature or childish but a young carefree edge? I can't articulate properly but it is a breath of fresh from ultra perfect heavy makeup.
Yes i do know what you mean. Very few, if any, have perfectly symmetrical features, everyones eyes are different. I wouldnt get too hung up on it. People arent scruntinising and analysing you as much as you are yourself. Plus once your face is in motion (moving; talking reacting etc) it looks very different to how you see yourself in the mirror. Just apply the liner neatly and as well as you can....and then enjoy it! X
I have had a blast watching Lisa's videos. My makeup collection has grown tremendously and I may have a lipstick shade for everyday of the month! I live how sweet and down to earth Lisa is. She's inspired me to look my best even though I'm 50+++++
Yes I really like Kiko, considering the price its great quality with fantastic textures and colours. I visit the factory where its made quite regularly and they have very cutting edge technology X
Yes several people have mentioned this, I think I may have read it wrong. I;m just back from a trip so havent unpacked all my make-up cases yet, as soon as i do I will find this product and update. Sorry for the confusion X
I love your position on brows. My 13-year old daughter has gorgeous brows like eagle wings, long and thick and amazing, and she keeps thinking she needs to pluck them out of existence. It's literally the respect she has for you that keeps her from doing it, and I'm so glad, because her brows are remarkably beautiful. Thank you, Lisa!
wow, when her hair is let down in the end, it all comes together and looks sooo gorgeous! looks so modern and fresh and the fact that it's all matte is wonderful! the skin is perfected sort of! :)
Could you do a Sharon Tate inspired make-up?! I'd love to see it. Also, in your latest video about how make-up developed through the history you made a flapper look and it looked really good and authentic, could you also make a tutorial on that? I've been watching your videos for a while now and couldn't be happier that somehow your channel popped somewhere while I was watching youtube and that I took a "quick" look at it :) I don't wear make-up that much but I enjoy your videos and I even fantasize about meeting you on the street and you asking me to be a model in one of your tutorials, even though I don't live in the UK :)
Stunning. A lovely period look that exemplifies the bombshell-coyness of the era. Grow your brows, young ladies, a lot of us wish we hadn't over plucked in the grunge era! Thank you for sharing, Lisa.
I am very BAFFLED by her beauty...... She is so incredibly beautiful that I literally cannot believe my eyes! Lisa, this look is gorgeous! Thank you for this video!
Lisa, as a dedicate fan, and someone who really, desperately needs to perfect her winged liner, at exactly the 5:12 mark in the video, you go from about 85% percent of finishing her eyeliner to then... new shot.... 100% percent finishing her eyeliner. You gave us complete detail on every step along the way minus the final and most crucial step of perfecting the wing. Can you please somehow let me know what happened there, and how to get the perfect wing? Please!!!
Thank you for providing such high quality to UA-cam and opening people's eyes about make up artistry. You gained your knowledge through years of experience on many different faces of many many shapes and colours and I can see how enthusiastic you are about your job and how interested you are in it on a deeper level. I trust your recommendations and tips which I can't say about most so called "make up artists" on UA-cam. On top of that you are lovely and so sophisticated. Thank you.
Love you Lisa! Appreciate your work so much and you and your Models are stunning!!! I just remembered lottie from the Adele Tutorial. Still the Most beautiful i ve ever Seen. Also Love joanas features: Ears eyes brows and everything Else. Your models always look so naturally beautiful and Never Fake.
Oh, finally! Your new video! I've waiting for it for ages, I think! I adore you, your technics, the way you introduce your ideas and habits! Just in awe of how wide-hearted and polite can be a person who does celebrity make up.. Thanks to you I've attaked all the cosmetics shops of Moscow, I've seached on-line shops for the things you use! Thank You so very much!
lisa, after watching how you do your work of art, all the other make up tutorialists look like they place sledgehammers on their (model's) faces. it is so great to learn from you, thank you!
finally a model whom i can relate to i have exactly the same eyebrows 😂 n i have been lectured upon plucking n waxing them but i love them as they are 😍 by the way she is really pretty 😍😍
Amazing! It reminds me when I was a tiny child, how my mother used these kinds of colors for her make-up, I still remember how happy she was not to have to use bright reds, and she had a dress with a "Vichy" fabric of this color: pale peachy pink, and shoes of the same color. She had the same ensemble in pale blue too. Your make-up is so Brigitte Bardot of that period! Really amazing!
I have a question: What do you do about wrinkly eyelids? Especially when I'm doing my eyeliner, I find that the looseness of my eyelids causes a squiggly line. I can of course pull them taut, but I wish I didn't have to.
You are an amazing artist! I love your work. You make it look so effortless but we all know that what you're doing here is genius. You barely touch the skin but make it so natural and perfect. I am always in awe of your talent.
Love watching your tutorials and love that you use models. As a makeup artist who's fairly new to the industry I love seeing what sort of products you use and how you apply them on a model.
Thank-you for another great look Lisa, I'm thinking this would be perfect for my leavers/graduation evening from high school. I love how you take such time and care with your videos and never come across as patronising or fake. I'm so glad your making videos! x
In the thumbnail I thought that the blonde woman looked a lot like Kate Upton, but now that I watch the video not so much. It's just her eyebrows are the same.
wow, the model is very unique. reminds me a little bit of cara delevigne. but cara is famous because her parents were famous before. if this girl had such famous parents, she would be instead of cara. it´s a face which is beautyful and special in one. ok, i have to confess, cara is kind of cool. but being cool is not the reason fashion labels are booking you.
Amazing, the foundation and the concealer completely covered her undereye circles! Pretty model and fantastic makeup artist! I love this kind of eye makeup, it's my go-to look. :)
I heard somewhere that Marilyn could go out without makeup wearing a raincoat and a headscarf and not be recognized. That's how important the makeup was to the creation of the legend.

My goodness that girl is beautiful!
i always wonder what models are thinking when they are getting their makeup done on camera
Haha! love her.
The waterproof mascara for tightlining is genius!

I would love to know what microphone you use!! Your voice sounds so clear and gorgeous!! Beautiful videos! xxx
that model is gorgeous! she has amazing lips and eyebrows! my god
Aww jeez, your model is absolutely stunning
I love her brows! They're very wolf like which is a good thing. Natural is always best. I think more girls should stop plucking and waxing their brows.

LOL, that's true! my brows grown back....but only the left one. LOL.
Try rogaine and just brush it on your brows. :)
I don't know if it is the lighting, but all the models she uses seem to have impeccably clear skin
The best tutorial I've seen on how to do winged eyeliner.
I just discovered you, Lisa, and I'm really enjoying your channel.
She is so beautiful! In the last shot where she has her hair down, she really reminds me of Daphne Groeneveld in the Dior Addict advert. Lovely makeup.
I'm jealous of her eyebrows!
When her eyes dilated I got chills it was super cool.
and the eye bag gone! you're my beauty guru Lisa
gorgeous model, her eyebrows are to die for. she's a true natural beauty and she really captures the look of that time
It's aggravating that people think skinny, arched eyebrows are the only beautiful eyebrows. I LOVE girls with thick, a little unkempt eyebrows. There's something artistic and unconventional about it.
***** I like them a tad unkept too, but my brows I like to fill in and disguise because one is straight and the other is arched. Both are thick and the same length, just different shapes.
My eyebrows are very skinny and I hate it! I wish I had brows like Joanna or Cara:(
Unkempt/on the natural side give a certain youthfulness as well. Not immature or childish but a young carefree edge? I can't articulate properly but it is a breath of fresh from ultra perfect heavy makeup.
I love how you not only teach us how to put on makeup but also teach us on the history of makeup. Thank you!
i love her eyebrows

Anybody else love the sound of her rings clunking at each other when she applies anything with her fingers?
This is my go to look when I dont want to mess with a bunch of shadows. Easy, quick, and classy. Thank you Lisa!
Mine too.
I have had a blast watching Lisa's videos. My makeup collection has grown tremendously and I may have a lipstick shade for everyday of the month! I live how sweet and down to earth Lisa is. She's inspired me to look my best even though I'm 50+++++
omg. the finished look, with her hair down, is STUNNING. gorgeous model.
Absolutely beautiful model loved the tutorial.
Yes I really like Kiko, considering the price its great quality with fantastic textures and colours. I visit the factory where its made quite regularly and they have very cutting edge technology X
She's so pretty wow especially when she smiled :)
That's what I was thinking, everyone just steps up their radiance level by 10000 when they smile
Yes several people have mentioned this, I think I may have read it wrong. I;m just back from a trip so havent unpacked all my make-up cases yet, as soon as i do I will find this product and update. Sorry for the confusion X
The model is stunning and her eyebrows are perfect! Just like cara delavigne👍

Yes absolutely you could. Just use plenty of black mascara and curl your lashes X
I have a question: What do you do about wrinkly eyelids? Especially when I'm doing my eyeliner, I find that the looseness of my eyelids causes a squiggly line. I can of course pull them taut, but I wish I didn't have to.

and the Bardot look is out of this world, of course! thanks Lisa xxxxxxx
This look looks like it came straight out of the film "Lolita."
Love watching your tutorials and love that you use models. As a makeup artist who's fairly new to the industry I love seeing what sort of products you use and how you apply them on a model.
Hey Lisa! Just, wondering where did you get trained in makeup artistry? You're so talented!:)
Thank-you for another great look Lisa, I'm thinking this would be perfect for my leavers/graduation evening from high school. I love how you take such time and care with your videos and never come across as patronising or fake. I'm so glad your making videos! x
