This upload is outstanding! Thanks for the time and no doubt endless hours it took to create. This old dog might have learned a new trick, thanks v much.
Glad you enjoyed it! We really enjoyed how this one came together. Yes, there was a lot of time involved but it went pretty smoothly. If you can pick up a few new tips, then all the better🙂
This video provides more help for fishing spinner falls than all of the other previous material combined. This is 21st century how to (and why) instruction at its absolute best. Don't know how I missed it when released but really happy that I found it. Confident that this will bring my spinner fishing skills to the next level.
Thanks Rick and we're glad you found it too. This one came together really smoothly for us which was great. It was a summer season when the spinners were plentiful and the fish in turn were feeding on them heavily. Here's hoping you get to experience some good spinner action in your upcoming season.
That without a doubt is the best dry fly fishing lesson I’ve ever seen. These techniques work for about any good emergence event. The best part about your videos is that you do it as really done. No casting for show or anything to be impressive. You show proper techniques in all facets of the hunt, presentation, hook set and landing the fish, complete with proper release Nicely done.
thanks! :) That's our goal - to simply share the how and if we can get neat footage to support it then that's good too... but the point is to share just how simple it is while pointing out the little things that help immensely. Thanks for taking the time to share as you did, it's valuable to us. Hope the season continues well :)
hello. i like your informative video so I subscribed. trying to umm convince my wife and 10yr old son that fishing is good and flyfishing even better.knowledge, nature and what it can especially do for your heart and soul.thanks again, an avid fisherman and true conservatoinalist from Kitchener ON. Canada. (the grand River and .. beyond)
Hiya and great tobhear you connect with and enjoy as we share. The best part of fly fishing is the time on the water and immersion into the riparian environment. Right now I'm replying on an estuarine water. We came to film sea run browns slashing minnows but there are none. Instead, as I type this reply from the SE coast on New Zealand's S Island Amelia is filming 3 king fishers hunting the same minnows where we had hoped the browns would be. You just never know what's going to happen. That's where the magic clicks in. 😊🍻
Wow...that big bug upper-left at 04:47 was so lucky that evening! Haha.. I have a feeling it was a good meal later on. Incredible camera work, as always Jensens. Thanks! 👍🏻
This was easily one of the best fly fishing videos I’ve ever seen. Extremely informative, but artistic and just plain beautiful as well. I really liked the music choices throughout. Best wishes to both of y’all in your endeavors.
Your videos keep getting better and better. Being from Alberta myself, I often recognize some of the areas you fish. I appreciate the fact that you do your best to keep Frenchman's creek a secret😉. Tight lines
I am at loss for words, so many beautiful videos you have and what passion. Absolutely stunning fishing you present and so easy to listen to and watch. You manage to hit the emotions in every way, the happines, the excitement. Thank you very much for your work!
Thank you for the compliments about our work. It's wonderful if what we share connects. Hearing that helps encourage our purpose, so thank you for watching. Please share our channel with your friends as you can, so we can continue to grow our subscribership.
That's really wonderful to hear. We've improved through the years, so you're getting our better selves now anyway.😉 Thanks for watching and commenting.
This is just fantastic. So many situations covered, the preparation and the mind set. The both of you are so in touch with the moments that make up each and every situation and the ability to capture those moments on film is brilliant. Just amazing insight combined with fine art.
Hi Chris, It's great this one connected with you. We have a hard time not capturing the beauty of what nature presents and all the things we learn from it. Thanks for seeing the artistic side of it all. That means a lot:)
Thank you once again, it's really important to us. We don't want to be presumptuous here but given your wanting to support us you might be interested in this: www.patreon.com/jensenflyfishing we're just in the final stages of setting that page up but it might be an easier way and of benefit to you as well! Thank you again!
Thank you. This video answered a number of questions I brought up to myself and some I had not thought of yet. I still struggle with flies. I enjoy tying my own. I am getting ready for Colorado and I have more flies than I know what to do with. .
Well that's a good problem to have isn't it?! Being prepared with a ton of flies and a good variety of sizes and profiles is great:) We're really glad this video helped you and thanks for dropping a comment here.
You do well with your index finger, but for all flyfishing I've found using your thumb makes for a stronger cast although you really don't need a power cast when fishing a spinner fall. My agrument is that you never hammer a nail with your index finger. Your short stroke is what the doctor ordered for this type of fishing - I like to call it "tip" casting. I've found that your accuracy increases tenfold! Excellent video as are all your films.
:) The thumb vs index finger is all about adjusting to what you are actually doing and using. The index finger will almost always outperform the thumb for accuracy on short casts. Mid-range casts are a toss up as you still don't need any more power than 3 fingers on the rod to cast 50 feet. Longer than 60 feet, sure, the thumb grip will begin to shine. You nailed it when you said you don't need power during a spinner fall :) But the bigger point remains that with the grip, as in almost anything fly fishing, you adjust various variables to what you are doing and using. It's also why when people say "you can't do that on my waters" or "that won't work here or there" it's hard to reply to because... well... we aren't fishing there and would no doubt adjust things. :)
Believe it or not, I’m now 61 and the fly fishing bug has bit me 😀. Watched some of your videos and subscribed. Like they say, “A picture is worth a thousand words”. Thank you both for taking the time to create and post these fine videos. The smiles and enjoyment this sport brings to you is contagious. Ps. What net is that you use?
That's great to hear. Loads of opportunities and options to explore. Good on you! We use a Macleans trout weigh net or a Greys trout net - though those are extinct in N America these days. 🍻
Really glad that this one was so helpful. We always try to share a bit of "How to " in each video, but some are a bit less structured than this and more subtle.🙂
Belle production. Wonderful work guys. I went to your Web site for more but there seems to be an issue with it. Maybe it is just me... Keep up the great adventures.

I need to ask. in the video you showed nice creek and Farmland if i'm correct. is this your propery? I see the fence but does not run down and in the creek. laws there are good? me and a friend of mine took hi canoe down thecreek yrs ago from orangeville ON. for a trip to almost Caledon area. anyway half way through catching and realease of 6inch brook trout we came across a farmers umm property which fence went right into this small creek with posts. illegal? we thought or knew this was illegal, so started taking it apart while in the creek in the canoe. then he comes out with a shotgun pointed at us and says stop that and get off my lLand! his Land???? noreply back on what you think about this. thanks and good fishin
Every country and regions within countries have different laws... some is a chain width riparian strip or high water mark public access, others have fish and game corridor agreements and others... land owners own the stream bed - best check with your local gov on that. 🍻
You mention when faced with repeated refusals you should change tippet, fly pattern, or fly size. Do you change all at once or one at a time and do you usually go with smaller tippet and which way with the fly size?
Usually if stepping down in fly size the tippet goes down a step as well. Sometimes you can get away with just the fly size but on pressured waters the tippet needs to go hand in hand. Another consideration is the suppleness / limpness of the tippet material. If it's a stiff material it will cause drag as it doesn't bend with the current. This all is more important as you get into the #16 and smaller as you go from 3, 4 to 5 or 6X. Hope that helps?

jensenflyfishing I watched this again last night except on my tv instead of my phone. Amazing!! Wonderful!! My very favorite flyfishing event is a late hatch. Mostly Caddis where I live. This put me back on the water again. For the first time in a long time I felt the rush of a dry fly take at dusk. I love how close you can be to the fish in situations like this. Just go slow and be still. Amazing how close to you fish will feed. Thanks for sharing this experience.

Man. I'm 1:52 in and I'm already captivated. Really, really excellent shots. The emerging mayfly at 1:52 is pretty amazing. Great job.
Glad you enjoyed it! When a stream comes alive with mayfly spinners a lot of really wonderful moments transpire. Thanks for your appreciation.

I judge a good flyfishing video by how fast my heart races seeing the footage. Feel pretty exhausted right now... great video!
Thanks! If we can add some enjoyable intensity to your life, then that's pretty awesome!
