I love this so much. My mother grew up in Iran and to this day can slaughter a lamb faster than anyone I have ever met. She always stressed the importance of respecting the animals sacrifice to feed us. We didn’t waste anything. This wonderful woman reminds me of her when she talks. Everyone is kind of just doing their own thing, not worrying about their neighbor, and like others mention, they are probably getting some amazing barbacoa and bringing over some of whatever they have to share as well.
As a Chinese/ Filipino man in my 50s I have a deep love,appreciation and respect for what this family is doing. Learning the tradition of their family and passing it on. Lots of hard work and passion is in their food. You really can’t put a price on it. It’s priceless. I wish them much success 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

My uncle used to make it just like this when I was a kid here in Texas. I was so fascinated with the whole day long process with cooking in the ground like that. I remember the head just being posted up on the kitchen table while my aunt made homemade tortillas and menudo. Damn I miss those days
My grandma used to make it also in small batches for the family but now she's older so its too much work I do miss them days too with fresh tortilla and salsa best morning ever!

My uncle used to make it just like this when I was a kid here in Texas. I was so fascinated with the whole day long process with cooking in the ground like that. I remember the head just being posted up on the kitchen table while my aunt made homemade tortillas and menudo. Damn I miss those days
My grandma used to make it also in small batches for the family but now she's older so its too much work I do miss them days too with fresh tortilla and salsa best morning ever!
