- Are you having trouble getting your dog grooming clipper blades to cut hair? If so, you're not alone. It's a common problem that many pet owners and groomers face. But don't worry, there are solutions!
Sometimes it is just a matter of switching to a different blade. In the case of this video, I could not get my 7F wide dog grooming clipper blade to cut the hair, and switching to a regular A5, 7F blade was the solution.
Wide dog grooming clipper blades cause our clippers to work harder. They even wear out the clipper blade drive faster than regular A5-size blades.
Whether you're a professional groomer or just grooming your own furry friend at home, these tips will help you achieve a clean and smooth cut. So grab your clippers, and let's get started!

As a diesel technician cutting my own dogs hair. I use my Andis ProClip AGC Super 2 on my golden doodle and I find the easiest way to cut through an extra thick coat is actually getting underneath the bulk to cut what's not all together. Never used a wide blade. I'll stick to fixing trucks 😆
You have taught me so much. Thank you!!
What happened to the dogs rear leg, did the clipper cut the dog?
No it seems to be a skin infection
How do you know this?
She had a cyst removed. It was healing nicely and we could proceed to groom her at her Vets approval.
I noticed that too
It's the distribution and additional usage of energy.
“Why is this, well im not sure” 😂😂😂you are so funny, I love your videos and I have learned so much about how to take care of my new little shorkie’s coat in between grooming. Thank you for sharing all your great tips 😊
We have two shorkies and a shih tzu. I love them! I want to groom my own too! Any advice for me?
Hi could you share the name of your clippers they look great thanks
This one is the Joyzze Raptor.
Can you tell me why my blade won’t move at all on my raptor?
My Zolitta wide blades cut through major matting like butter. Maybe it’s the brand?
Typically I never have an issue with wide blades, but this coat type was so thick and so dense, I have never found this to happen before so in this case, I used the regular size and it didn’t have a problem. Both blades were sharp.
Yeah the wide blades are all but useless. I spent money on a few thinking I’d save time but I spent more time just trying to figure out why they didn’t work. I even spent money getting them sharpened just to realize they aren’t a very good idea in the first place.
How do you know if you have to replace a blade drive?
You'll know. The clippers will be louder and not work properly. You can test it by seeing if when it's off if it moves easily when you move it side to side
I have found that no matter the brand of wide blades they suck. I have never had luck with them
I do not agree.
Buttercut and buchelli. However you spell it
Same. Ive bought $20 wal mart clippers and $299 petsmart clippers and they both suck .
What kind of cordless trimmers you recommend or name brand
Joyzze Raptor
Ah I wondered why that has happened recently 🤦♀️
Put manuka honey on that leg wound & it will hea; right up & grow new hide & hair!
