I swear, if there is a middle armor fire armor coming out soon, i will go completly fire against bugs. My favorite bug build is flamethrower, napalm shotgun, jetpack, (grenade pistol is used at any build by me) and either impact or incendiary impact grenade once i get the polar patriots Pass. The last 2 spots i fill in according to what my team will need. Like if they go gas strike or eagle airstrike i will get stuff for big targets, and if they already have enough of that, i get stuff for small stuff.
Lasers dont stagger bots; This might sound like a downside, but basically the bots don't twitch as much and make it much easier to line up headshots so you just beam their brains.
yeh good point but uh.. i struggled hard using this against bots, particularly with the scythe. Felt like i was useless af. so hard to hit weak spots on beserkers when theyr walking at you.. thats why not many clips in the vid of this vs bots..

Well I'm bringing the Orbital Laser anyway. One friend is going to go Full Fire; Fire Impact Grenades, Flame Thrower, Incendiary Breaker, (a random side arm until they make a fire one), and a napalm, My Other Friend will go full grenade/hive or factory clear; Erupter (once it isn't nerfed again), Grenade Launcher, Supply Pack, Grenade Pistol, Eagle Air Strike, 500kg Bomb, My last friend will just go all electric, Blitzer Shotgun, Arc Thrower, (a random side arm once again), Tesla Tower. This leaves plenty of room for someone to bring EATs and someone to bring a Titan Killer Strat like the orbital railcannon or another 500kg. These are all fun builds too, maybe make a video about it. My favorite is the full grenade/hive or bot clear build lol.
With what I said earlier your team kind of covers each others weakness because you are all specialized to do certain things. Its really really fun and its a good video idea. I've found that the laser/flame people work best for chaff whilst the arc thrower guy works on medium armor enemies, and grenadier works on hives and bases, one or two of us brings an EAT, We always have a 500kg because you can't live without it :) Orbital Laser is really good at clearing heavy bases on the automaton front, not great against bugs since titans will tank it and all the little guys get spared.
@@ottodotbot There's no reason to bring the quasar against bots. Any bot can be killed with the LasCannon and it has way more uptime then the 3 shots per Minute from a Quasar. On Bugs you might bring it, because you can do a lot of work with the Sickle and Rover, but still, I'd rather have the EATs for when I need them, then lugging around the Quasar all day.
GOAT'd build I've been using (because I also enjoy switching builds to make the game fun again) 95% resistance to arc damage armor, pummeler smg, grenade pistol, stun grenades, Tesla tower, Recoiless rifle, 500 kg bomb, HMG emplacement. The way it runs is you throw your tesla tower, crowd control/gaurd tower with HMG emplacement and smg, when you see heavy use stuns so they don't go straight for tower, and recoiless rifle or 500 kg to kill them. (Chargers or biles). It's a bit of a learning curve because you really have to be on top of the heavies since they're instantly aggro towards the tower. It feels awesome when you can pull it off though.
love this bro. this is what helldivers is so damn good for.. using builds that FEEL good, that might not be META/OP/SOLOHELLDIVEEZMODEBRUH, but are actually fucking FUN. love it
@Mogz-hd I actually have solo'd with this believe it or not. It covers all corners. Light armor enemies, mediums (grenade pistol), and two anti tank strats (recoiless and 500 kg). Definitely not META though, or even close I agree completely 🤣 This one is all about the fun!
This build looks fun indeed :-) I have never used the laser cannon against bugs so far, but it is one of my all-time-favorites against bots (next to the autocannon and spear). When it comes to bugs, It reminds me a lot of my arc thrower builds: both share the property that they are really good against medium bugs, with the arc thrower having an advantage when it comes to small ones and the laser cannon when it comes to medium ones. Both share the property that they are bad against heavy units... well, the laser cannon is at my to-play-against-bugs-list, now even more. Thanks! For now I am trying to get a viable arc thrower build against bots (stun grenades + supply backpack).
I remember one time weeks ago I joined a mission with random guy like I always do and it was hilarious fun we all had laser rovers and laser cannons and I had the laser rifle. It was just laser beams everywhere all times. The one guy that didn’t have laser anything felt so left out so I went and died so he could pick up my laser rifle and join in the fun😅
Yea, I did a this load out last week except I did napalm and gas. 702 kills. I was basically trash/medium clear up to charger. Could contain a breach by myself depending on what spawned. Was so much fun.
I 100% understand why the orbital laser wasn’t there. Its limited use is one of the reasons I never use it. I tend to use my stratagems so much. Being limited to 3 is just bad. Hopefully in the future an upgrade for maybe even 6 one day would Be there. Going to be trying this build with one of my friends this week Forsure. Honestly sad only one of my friends out of so many that use to play with me even hop on anymore. During the first two months we could not stop playing every single night. Enough of my ramblings lol. Here’s something you might enjoy Armor - electric resistant (any kind) Primary - Blitzer (4p) Support weapon - Arc Thrower (4p) Eagle Air - 500Kg (4p) Orbital - Railcannon (4p) Chargers die to 5-6 headshots with an arc thrower, we run this when we just want to have fun, you kill everything in big with arc thrower minus the biles but rail and 500kg are good support weapons. We stood at extract and fought endless waves of bugs and they never got in melee distance. We all had over 500kills at the end of the game lol. Side note haven’t tested but I’m very sure u can win a defense mission with this as well just standing and delivering democracy
Fun builds are the best. . I had a random squad go 2-3x sentries per person. Absolutely destroyed the map. . I’ll also try to tie in an HMG emplacement anyway I can for fun. . Or Orbital Gas/Precision if scatter is not on. . Tonight I’m going check out your build though! Looks fun!
Wow I actually just randomly ( by accident,meant to take the Quasar Cannon)picked up the Laser Cannon,had fun. Gonna try this load out,but switching the EAT for the Commando . Thanks for the great idea for load out 🤠 👍
I totally agree the game can get stale unless you just mess around and have fun trying to create new fun loadouts. This is literally what i do when i play. Some builds end up being mid, some fail horribly, some are just fun, some are really good and some end up kicking ass. This is what i like about how Arrowhead is trying to balance the weapons(it of course needs work), but they dont want there to be one God-tier meta. Also your videos are done really good. A very unique approach that i havent seen done with Helldiver 2 loadouts.
I love that lasermaxing has never been "the" loadout but it's always respected. The only one I enjoy more is recoilless monster hunting but that's nowhere near as consistent
Recoilless is something I respect enough to offer to be right there and team load, and I commit. But I don't fight bugs because I hate them... Against bots though, hell yeah I'll be your ammo slave. Lay waste to hulks!
All energy weapons is so much more fun. No need to be tethered to the group or worry about supplies. Combine with a jetpack for the ability to get out of dodge when youre swarmed, and you become very effective as a scout.
Stun grenades are op on Lazer builds for taking out larger enemies and large swarms. Also you need the orbital laser for the true laser build experience!
Ive tried this too in the past and had a bunch of fun! Only thing is the Dagger feels really bad, but you can generally get away with just switching between the only the scythe and laser cannon anyway
For an effective bot killing build, swap the scythe for a sickle and use stun grenades. The 5 second stun works on hulks and you pop heads. Laser cannon can kill any bot you hit in its weakpoint (including tanks, hulks, and factory striders). Sickle can kill devastators and below. It works surprisingly well, especially on cold planets. If you value effectiveness over fun, swap the drone for the shield backpack and the EAT-17s for a standard eagle airstrike (good for clearing tanks and factories) or an orbital laser (drop it on an objective or heavy base and watch it do all the work. Also it's a laser.). Hope this helps!

Before the eruptor nerf and ricochet changes, I ran the laser cannon and EAT, with laser rover, but i had to go full fire build against bugs after they fixed fire DoT.
Heavy butcher armor, supply pack, flame thrower and then your choice for the remaining strategem slot The build is meant to hold the line against bugs and keep bugs in the fire as you are also in the fire stimming yourself all at the same time while resupplying yourself if you are running low on stims The butcher med kit passive will keep you alive for the next 4-5 seconds as you flame down all bug breaches Yes your character will be screaming majority of the time but youll feel like a badass, trust You become an absolute tank, peeling for your time and killing all at the same time and if you have a coordinated team they can focus on bile titans and chargers coming out of the breach but if you bring stuns you can also take the chargers and leave the titans to your team
Team it with poulse lazor build. Shiled pack, Quazar, Sickle guy, that gets close, for rave guy to kite. With those two, no nead for EAT, And you can take Sky lazor, for extra Fluf, while totaly in theme
The laser build is fun but there only 1 disadvantage of using laser build is the hot area place because the cool down of the laser is long before use it
Been a long time since I've tried playing with the laser cannon. Might try and make a build with it and/or the Scythe. I agree with your thoughts at the end. I've been having fun lately trying to come up with weird loadouts with weapons I don't usually use.
People are often cagey about using the OL because of its limited usage, but for a laser build?? C'mon. It's a great panic button, even if you only get 3.
500kg will always be the go-to anti bile titan choise vs railcannon strike. RKS don't even finish the target. 500kg take some more risk to use, sure. You have to time it properly for it to one shot. But when you get that working efficiently and reliably it's way better

This build can't deal bug holes or destroy bot fabricators at all, beside using the orbital rail cannon once every couple of minutes... So keep that in mind if you guys wanna play solo with it... If you're on a team this isn't a big deal of course, because there are 3 other people who can do the hole sealing/fabricator destroying...

I guess because I would personally rather saving them for surprise titans/chargers that come up a lot more in dif 9... Anyway you're right. Although suboptimal and kinda slow, this build is also ok for hole closing, at least in solo when you can get much more resupplying for the grandes.

yeh the original script had laser .. but i found my anti-tank capability lacking, so i switched it to EAT , which i found more viable. but yeh that was my original idea
False...You have to stop shooting to let the ice pack cool off. and if you overheat you have to RELOAD... but yes, if you use it correctly you will never have to reload. I love trying diff builds. Makes the game just that much more fun!
@@Mogz-hd noted. but again, this depends a lot on the person's skills. in the hands of the skillful players, even a pump action shotgun is lethal (check out Sarge. He's probably the best among the soloist). So this is Takibo. He's like one of a few kinda skillful players. I prefer to see you do it on the automatons though, if you're up for that challenge. But if you're a bugs specialist, it's totally okay.
oh yeh i completely agree. I tried this on automatons and it was a real struggle. And yeh im mostly a bugs player to be honest! i think its definitely a high-skill build particularly on automatons. Your aim needs to be very very good

cos actually the concept of this build is the synergy between the scythe, dagger and las cannon.. thats the main point. Any additional laser items are just "nice to have" extra lasery goodness

Your intro should have been: "Are you a POS and don't care about the mission? Do you want be as useless to your team as possible? Then boy do I have a build for you." What kind of advice is this? First overhead the cannon. Then you overheat the scythe. After that you overheat the dagger and just let your teammates do the actual fighting. When taking on bile titans, first you soften them up with AN ORBITAL RAIL CANNON STRIKE and then, just in case they don't bleed out naturally while you're scraping the dirt off their armor with the laser cannon, have a EAT close by to finish the job. Please. For the love of all that is holy, do not join a public lobby with this build. People will shoot you in the face and never respawn you again. Use it with your friends so only they have to suffer. Better titles for this video: #1 How to waste 3 stratagems while only using the 4th to do any actual damage #2 It doesn't work when the mission only allows you to bring 3 stratagems #3 How not to be able to close any bug holes and/or fabricators #4 How to get kicked out of a lobby in under 10 seconds flat #5 Your teammates will have such a blast carrying your sorry ar*e to the finish line cause you wanted to identify as disco-ball.
I use this build against bots quite often, have been doing so since cutting edge war bond dropped . Bile titans you can destroy it's spewing sack and it's belly with the laser cannon and then just drop an eagle on it . But I won't run this build if we don't have sufficient anti-tank stuff on the team. I am maxed out on all samples and medals and I run weird load outs to make my own fun

You will not be able to deal with a swarm if you're using this and you're just making your team work harder. I come home from work late and I get maybe one hour of gameplay before bed and in that one hour I have to deal with "The disco ball guy", cause he felt like roleplaying in a public lobby. Use whatever you want but please bring a balanced build, otherwise you're just making your team work harder in situations that you are simply not equipped to deal with and that is just disrespectful to their time. Nobody wants to fail a mission and waste 40 minutes of their life because one guy decided he wants to roleplay a disco ball.

hahaha yeh its sinful i know.. but... since u can only call it down twice each mission.. and it only lasts 15 sec or so... i felt like a total of 30 seconds of lasering in a 40 minute mission... didnt really impact the vibe of the build. so yeh.. ditched it n took EATs instead, which made the build actually semi-viable
Thats the beauty of Helldivers, there are a ton of viable fun options for a loadout. This meta bullshit that everyone gets dragged into with every other game is lame as hell and often just not fun.

You were SO close to Lasermaxxing, SO close to perfection! You were just missing the Orbital Laser instead of the Railcannon.

been playing the laser-tag for 2 months now. I started w bugs but found it shines best against automatons. when fighting bots, you want the stun nade.

Blitzer, and/or arc thrower, Tesla Arc is really fun with the electrical resistant armor (prototype’s)

The laser build is fun but there only 1 disadvantage of using laser build is the hot area place because the cool down of the laser is long before use it
Been a long time since I've tried playing with the laser cannon. Might try and make a build with it and/or the Scythe.
I agree with your thoughts at the end. I've been having fun lately trying to come up with weird loadouts with weapons I don't usually use.
I would like it if beam lasers were buffed. A better scope is all that is probably needed. Though more power would be nice too.

500kg will always be the go-to anti bile titan choise vs railcannon strike. RKS don't even finish the target.
500kg take some more risk to use, sure. You have to time it properly for it to one shot. But when you get that working efficiently and reliably it's way better

This build can't deal bug holes or destroy bot fabricators at all, beside using the orbital rail cannon once every couple of minutes... So keep that in mind if you guys wanna play solo with it...
If you're on a team this isn't a big deal of course, because there are 3 other people who can do the hole sealing/fabricator destroying...
can do bot fabricators with EATs and Grenades.
@@Mogz-hd You're correct I didn't think about using both EATs for this purpose... I guess because I would personally rather saving them for surprise titans/chargers that come up a lot more in dif 9...
Anyway you're right. Although suboptimal and kinda slow, this build is also ok for hole closing, at least in solo when you can get much more resupplying for the grandes.

I use scythe rover laser cannon with grenade pistol and stuns along with airstrike and 380 for bots or the 500kg for bugs and it absolutely slaps
Get Quasar instead of EAT, orbital emp instead of rail cannon and stun instead of incendiary. True electric ⚡ loadout.

yeh the orbital laser was in my original script. i ended up replacing it just cos i like the EAT for extra anti-tank capability. but yeh if u wana go FULLLLLLLLLLLLLL laser.. def need orbital laser

False...You have to stop shooting to let the ice pack cool off. and if you overheat you have to RELOAD... but yes, if you use it correctly you will never have to reload. I love trying diff builds. Makes the game just that much more fun!

@@Mogz-hd noted. but again, this depends a lot on the person's skills. in the hands of the skillful players, even a pump action shotgun is lethal (check out Sarge. He's probably the best among the soloist). So this is Takibo. He's like one of a few kinda skillful players. I prefer to see you do it on the automatons though, if you're up for that challenge. But if you're a bugs specialist, it's totally okay.

cos actually the concept of this build is the synergy between the scythe, dagger and las cannon.. thats the main point. Any additional laser items are just "nice to have" extra lasery goodness

What kind of advice is this? First overhead the cannon. Then you overheat the scythe. After that you overheat the dagger and just let your teammates do the actual fighting.
When taking on bile titans, first you soften them up with AN ORBITAL RAIL CANNON STRIKE and then, just in case they don't bleed out naturally while you're scraping the dirt off their armor with the laser cannon, have a EAT close by to finish the job.
Please. For the love of all that is holy, do not join a public lobby with this build. People will shoot you in the face and never respawn you again. Use it with your friends so only they have to suffer.

I use this build against bots quite often, have been doing so since cutting edge war bond dropped . Bile titans you can destroy it's spewing sack and it's belly with the laser cannon and then just drop an eagle on it . But I won't run this build if we don't have sufficient anti-tank stuff on the team. I am maxed out on all samples and medals and I run weird load outs to make my own fun

@@Banderoism My friend, I like the laser cannon and I use it against bots all the time but this build is 90% useless in most situations. You will not be able to deal with a swarm if you're using this and you're just making your team work harder.
I come home from work late and I get maybe one hour of gameplay before bed and in that one hour I have to deal with "The disco ball guy", cause he felt like roleplaying in a public lobby.
Use whatever you want but please bring a balanced build, otherwise you're just making your team work harder in situations that you are simply not equipped to deal with and that is just disrespectful to their time. Nobody wants to fail a mission and waste 40 minutes of their life because one guy decided he wants to roleplay a disco ball.

hahaha yeh its sinful i know.. but... since u can only call it down twice each mission.. and it only lasts 15 sec or so... i felt like a total of 30 seconds of lasering in a 40 minute mission... didnt really impact the vibe of the build.

Thats the beauty of Helldivers, there are a ton of viable fun options for a loadout. This meta bullshit that everyone gets dragged into with every other game is lame as hell and often just not fun.
