It was a pleasure to take you for a lap Misha. For anyone wondering why the VSA light is on - we found Type R mode too stiff for enjoyable lapping on the day and I haven't yet learned the pedal dance to turn it off in Individual mode. 👍
Put it in R+ and hold the traction control button for 5-10 sec
you also can deactivate the fake sound, you need to unplug something from the glovebox if I recall

It wasn't a stock type r that set the record. It was a special "Type R S' lightweight ltd edition that's a Euro only special - no other markets. It was also on Cup 2 tyres. The car

Obviously it’s not getting extreme lightweight treatment, like for example how Porsche is doing their Weissach package. But I’m more concerned about the engine tune. Since the one in Honda video able to gain and trapped higher speed on long straight sections of the track.
The tiny civic in the dash having functional break lights is the coolest thing ever

That was an amazing drive... I'm no expert, but it seemed like he was hitting all the right points on the track and carrying speed really well through the corners.
He can drive... for sure.
... and to top it off... it's a real car with a manual gear change.
I had the pleasure of driving this car for some days and i really like it.
The whole package looks good and tidy, the seats are nice, and everything looks and feels high quality, especially the steering wheel (it is amazing and i love it). The infotainment software is well structured / intuitive and the sound system is good.
What's most important to me is the way it drives. Of course it's a sporty car and it feels quick / direct when you push it, but you can also drive it in a calm manner and it just goes with it very well. It doesn't feel like you have to hold back a race car at all.
I would take this over a Golf gti anytime.
Overall a pretty capable bit of kit. He drove that thing pretty damn well to be fair. Love the little animation of the car in the tach doing the braking and indicating. It's the little things.
That subtle animation of the real time brake lights appliction is superb.
As a Honda fan I am 100% agree with complaint about fake exhaust note, they should've done it switchable. But otherwise it's a beast, especially in that record-winning run
the integra type s fixes all of that, i expect that exhaust to be a big mod for FL5 owners lol

Really good looking these and finally a nice interior. Just a shame about the price! I bought a 1yr old loaded EP3 Type R in 2005 for £13k and now they're £45k 🤯

Mad today to think today that would be about £21,500. Clearly the FL5 is not the same type of car the old one was, (probably more akin to an i20n) but the price is ridiculous. The fact you can't even buy one is also annoying.
We didnt have the EP3 TypeR in Canada but in 2005 i had a EP3 SiR. Loved that car!
Not surprised it set a lap record, he was clearly an awesome driver but the front end on that car for a FWD with over 300bhp looked pretty mega.
No wonder it broke the record. Rotation is so "natural" like none other. Thanks Misha!

No. The last thing I want to see when I am hustling a car is some worthless red light blinking in my peripheral vision. That would make me think it’s an oil pressure warning or something. All business in my instruments, please.

Well driven mate - Similar to the last gen typeR it looks to handle great for a fwd car. Some of those corners it looks like the LSD was just pulling you out of them!

I liked the way this guy took a lot of corners it was very cool lap, loved it.
Amazing how this car rotates for being FWD. Every corner you think it will understeer, it just grips.

Don’t know, but during the video it multiple times looked like the car had some wheel hopping! Maybe the bushings or dampers are not capable for these tyres or so?

Been sitting here thinking for a while, and I can't think of anything worse to hit the automotive industry. I honestly can't believe a 90's gimmick that people with 5h!t cars bought for a laugh is being put in flagship vehicles by reputable manufacturers.

Insane if it was done with summer tire, instead of Cup2. Like how Randy Pobst demolished GR Corolla Morizo that only has 2 seats, and wearing Cup2 on Willow Springs track. And itcwas done with bone stock FL5.

Great car, good to see a very confident lap as well. All cars should be fitted with auto blip on the downshift. This raises a question, can it be mapped for flat shifting going up through the gears? Elephant in the room, how quick was the BMW at the beginning of the video....👀

really good drives and very fast car
Once you code out the pumped-in-noise the actual induction sound is way better
Should have tried another Lap with +R mode, it will have quicker Throttle and Engine response than Sports Mode.
BTW Honda did do a Nurburgring Lap Record which was released recently.
What I find appealing about Nurburgring is that you can can just cruise on the right side and watch supercars racing you, great experience for the price 😅

Did someone tried to tamper with the fake noise in newer cars? I mean getting rid of the speakers in this kind of cars which will be track prepped shouldn't be an issue anyway but I assume there's some software way to turn it off.
Edit: watched till the end, so the option no. 1 is viable thru disconnecting speakers.

Shame the pumped in engine sound is so bad, was thinking of getting it in the future instead of my current FK2 type R but if it's that bad irl even with a helmet it's going to be a real turn off for me😅

the one thing i like about Hondas is that they make shifting so easy that even a super novice can jump in and shift without jolting everyone in the car. i never realized this until i drove a Suzuki Swift Sport and noticed that you really have to learn to shift well to drive it properly. very different from my old Honda!
I'd wire in a little kill switch under the glove box so you can turn it off if thats the case, I hate fake engine noise even those stupid cabin induction tubes.

Hey misha, first of all you are an amazing driver and entertainer, I absolutely love and respect what you do. That said, I’m a 20yrs old guy very passionate about cars, I’d love to come to the ring soon. Considering that I’ve been on track once with a Porsche 718 and did pretty good, and I very often drive on the sim, what kind of car would you suggest to rent as a first timer?
Start with a slower one if it is your very first time on the Nürburgring. 200-250hp are more than enough to learn the track.

Cool cars, the black ones look evil. But i always tough that 1 of the 3 tailpipes were valved so you can straightpipe it with a press of a button. at least someone in my neighborhood had.
didn't ask if it was stock tho... but indeed those speaker sounds are awful... it almost sound like a blown up speaker on the higher revs... disable it, valve it and problem solved :D

What size are the AD09's? Stock PS4S' are 265/30x19
It just saddens me that a few years ago i was looking at brand new fk8s for £31.5k here in Britain the FL5 is £50k...basically near M2 comp money. Maybe its because they are not made here anymore because the factory in Swindon closed but Honda have excelled in everything other than the price. Severely disappointed from that perspective. I don't believe that Sochiro Honda would not have wanted the CTR brand to be like this whereby its exclusive for the rich or a financed car that you can't modify for years.
He can unplug the sound module or have a dealership turn it off electronically

i dont understand why some cars blinks the indicator by hard braking.. Thats Annoying. My Fiesta ST blink the Brake Lights
Warning others about you braking hard. The indicators come on when the ABS is working full time. Prob regulations and stuff
@@Dr1ftop1a yes I know. But why blink the indicators. I see this blink in dashboard everytime and outside looks terrible.🙈 Yellow lights by braking. 🙈🙈 Its annoying. Blinking brake lights to warn others is much better
very nice lap, the video doesnt convey the fake car sound though the speakers, but just the idea of it....... although if i had a racing girlfriend who liked it,, i'd probably learn to live with it aswell :P

Misha doesn't ask to drive the cars. I imagine some DM him saying 'drive my car' while some say 'come for a lap' and he says yes to both
