That woman has incredible control of pitch
I think it has some autotune
Ekyllier it’s in the same key, just reharmonized
@@luukwoudstra8903 Any reason you'd say that? I'd wager against it. Guy has access to top musicians. If he has a Shakuhachi guy and a C baritone, think he's drawing the line at a good lead singer who just sings like this on her best take?
Not gonna say you're wrong, I don't know, Autotune is prevalent, but I bet they don't need to correct.
@@onkelpappkov2666 at the words "wondering" and "after" i think i hear a clear pitch correction. I could be wrong tho. Also, pitch correction in studio recordings is pretty usual nowadays. Singing a hard song like hello and never sing one note too flat or too sharp is very hard, even for experienced singers.
Ekyllier, the key didn’t change.
PLEASE make more songs like this
YES!!
Based on the sheets visible on the string players stands, a track named "run away with me" might be forthcoming...
YES the world needs this.
Joshua Anderson it’s one of my favs maybe, EVER. I could go on and on about the elements of this track. Adams a damn genius and we are lucky he exists
BUTTERFRICKIN AMAZING!! The build up tension. into 1st chorus
Adam you didn't credit the bassist, how are we supposed to know who he is?
2:50 Holy shit is that Joe Dart on th- oh, wait...
You dumb idiot he is the bass player

Ha Wa whatcha mean?
Damn,you beat me to it
Hello's rendition of Clarity, but it's Jared Yee's solo on Zac Zinger
Yee
Jae’s voice is intense even when she’s singing softly/in a low register, incredible
Especially, I would say. Wonderful.
Adam Neely is tricking me into liking pop songs.
Rogerthatsd No, he’s tricking pop fans into liking jazz.
@@axelnils that should do
If you didn't like "Hello" already, you're lying
@Judge Dredd ugh... just shut up
listen to everything everything, MGMT's later albums although the first is the best one imo, jai paul, polo & pan, metronomy's pip payne, jamie xx, animal collective, etc...
Pop music isn't terrible, idk why there is hate for it. It's an art form in and of itself.
Never would have listened to Hello and thought "needs more shakuhachi"... Amazing performances and harmonies!
Needs less cowbell
This version gives me so many mixed vibes. It's like Adele is more mad in this version crying outside a hall where her ex is dancing with another woman to some jazz and this whole thing is happening in a giant space shuttle that's trying to dock.
Using that description makes me think of it like Final Fantasy VIII but from Seifer's perspective 😂
Jedidiah Daniel what are you talking about that’s what really happened to Adele
@@daryanguy Little known fact, Interstellar was based on Adele's story
How high are you
😂
The ritardando before the saxophone is probably the coolest thing I've heard in 2019 holy shit!
My favorite part
It's that good
I am a bit confused (in a good way!) by how the drums speed up again at the start of the sax solo at around 3.42, especially that third beat.
Snarky Puppy 2: Electric Boogaloo
Ashley Makwana I haven’t chuckled like that in a while
Shakuhachi boogaloo
Eclectic boogaloo
The pull back and return to tempo at 3:42 is absolute magic. Super simple but really refreshing compared to so much of the music produced entirely on the grid these days.
Wow, I like this so much better than the original. I'd actually listen to this regularly. Those chord changes on the chorus are so cool.
Same, I listened to the original and was disappointed lol.
Yep. Same with his cover of Clarity. That sax solo is nasty.
Please tell me this means the J A Z Z S C H O O L album is coming out soon
@Noah Lauziere like how Jazz used to really back in the 50s and 60s, reharmonising popular songs in a jazz setting is indeed a fantastic way to expose people to more complex harmony that goes past 4 triads being repeated and so on.
you can see the violin player had the sheets for run away with me on her stand too, so they could've recorded several songs that day👀
@@benjaminconsterdine2077 and the Brass at 3:32
though btw that was a viola I'm pretty sure.
Dude murdered that high hat during second chorus
It’s eerie how well her voice matches with the tone of the shakuhachi in that low register.
Tailor made. That's why i prefer my shyt custom made. Made only for me and me alone.
2:32 I SCREAMED SO LOUD
It's like "Jazz? You there Jazz? Oh... JAZZ!"
3:43 - Press here to play the sax solo again
Beleive me you'll need it
U didn’t credit the bass player in the desc. 👿
Bass players get no respect!
@@mrheart4873 r/ woosh
@@hughtwg They do get the most work and best pay though. So it kind of evens out.
Slapp like NOW!
Just out of curiosity. Why do bass players get the most work? Because there are less of them in comparance?
Once again Jae knocks it out of the park. Someone sign her already, we need her on the radio!
2:49 Adams stank face spotted
It's the bass face
Stanky bass
Adrian Paul Urbano bass face
The entire chorus gave me the stank face
I love a good sax solo - anything can be improved with some righteous saxophone soloing
Ikr
7th graders stopped screwing around and were captivated listening to this, and then they were more excited about playing music. Me too. You are the guy!
That is some awesome work you are doing there. Good Job!
Shakuhachi + Trombone = PURE GOLD!
I just shaved my legs
I got goosebumps three times
My legs hurt
Worth it
That's the new song by Adele, isn't it?
The arrangement, the musicianship, the mixing, the video, the everything. That was absolutely amazing!
This is amazing. The tone quality when the alto saxophonist and the singer were together was wow I’m at a loss for words
Pure masterpiece, the final relief using triads just opens the gates for emotion flow. Amazing!
When the sax solo started I thought it was Jared Yee
So glad to finally have a studio version of this!! Please do more!!
That piano is something straight out of some dystopic cyberpunk future
The one handed polyrhythms on the hi hat are absolutely insane.
3:55 I've listened to this cover so many times, and only now did I noticed the "Twice" sax countermelody hiding beneath the sax solo.
This cover is beautiful.
Adam is one of the most creative and insightful muzisians today, and this reharm is an astonishingly beautiful example.
2:08 don't act like no one noticed that phrase from twice. Beautiful arrangement adam
The Monster O' Dub He talked about that in his video on the main channel
This was an intentional mashup
@@PacificBird it was a nice detail in addition to the whole bassline throughout the song
OH OK GOOD
The entire start has it too.
Jesus Christ, that saxophone solo at the end!!! And with the rit right before it… SO DAMN CATHARTIC!
WOW, just wow. I literally cried when listening this....
Same
Glad i’m not alone guys!
Yeah, the transition on 3:40 is what made me break haha
I had to.
It's called Jazz Reharmonization, it makes pop songs great.
God bless the soul that recommended this song to me
This is the best arrangement adam has ever made. This is insanely good. PLEASE make an album with this feel!!!
It's actually insane this doesn't have more views. This is probably one of my favorite songs ever, and I don't mean the original.
When are you putting this on Spotify? It's mindblowing!
Its there
@@ieuanphillips4963 Yeah, and it's been for a long time. But when it got released it was only on YT for a while before he released it onto streaming platforms
Can we appreciate that amazing drummer for a sec plz?
the lead up from 3:19 to the sax solo is one of the best musical experiences I think I’ve ever had
That break into major at the end is just fireworks.
I am in love with Adam Neely
Oh, this is gorgeous... Love the reharmonisation, and Justina's vocals are simply stunning - such power and rich tonality... Barnstorming!
reharmonisation... you're British aren't you? :)
@@jeremygonzal8603: It's the accent which gives it away, isn't it! :)

i can't stop coming back to this video. It's such a great reworking, i prefer it to the original.
Truth. In a better world, this would be the hugely popular original.
Adam Neely stands for supreme quality & knowledge.
One of the most positive aspects of the web.
And as funny as a British guy in NYC can get.
Dude. Goosebumps. Everything from the re harmonization, the arrangement is to Jae’s voice. Just spectacular.
Also Adam I don't know if you produce these songs yourself but if you do I'm incredibly jealous of your production chops
I just have to be sure... You know the song right? But i think he composes himself, and hires someone to mix maby

Adam. This is a masterpiece. Everything about this is excellence. The breaks, drumming, sax solo; everything. I’m ultimately inspired by this work of art almost to disbelief. Thank you! You sharing your gift is my favorite thing of the last 5-10 years of my life. I mean that. Thank you 🙏
Anyone else get goosebumps listening?
This gives me hope for humanity.
It’s 2020 and I can’t stop watching this. The lead up to the Sax solo is a unique experience for me. The Sax solo itself is amazing. Well done Adam
That "dum-dam" of the piano combined with the flute just gives a spaceless and timeless feeling. Reminds me of Interstellar
This arrangement is nuts!! That shakuhachi (oriental flute) was such a VIBE.
incredibly well written and arranged, I love these reharmonizations!
Wheres my coat? R U in the wardrobe now?
Man!!, I wish I can do arrangements like Adam Neely does. It's a wonderful arrangement, I absolutely loved it.
That sax solo following the incredible vocals just hits the right spot!
Dude that ritardando got me BOPPING
I love that shakuhachi more than life itself
I love how Zach solos on two different instruments in this arrangement
If Adam is not a legend in our generation, I don’t know who is.
King GIzzard and the Lizzard Wizzard is... one of the most innovative rock bands atm and definetly earned a spot in my heart!
Please put this on SPOTIFY!
In his another video ua-cam.com/video/fuqsEl_0nSg/v-deo.html he commended "Spotify hasn't processed the audio yet" so it should be there soon.
Jesus Christ, I’ve started becoming desensitized to music but this almost gave me goosebumps, amazing performance!
Don't think i didn't catch those triplets starting 2+ 3:06 know you're game.
He used the offbeat triplets which is so funny to me because they were previously stated as a rhythm that shouldn't be played.
Great reharmonization well done 3:30 music starts to build up 3:40 goosebumps kick in and then sweet release looking forward for more of this kind of works!!
Sax solo blew my mind holy moly
Like everybody else contributing to this, Jae Soto is amazing. Also, I love how much shakuhachi is going on in there.
The amount that this is better than the original version is a lot.
I think I must of played this Cover a thousand times!
That wind and rhythm section could easily be the "Tower of Power" of this music generation. What a wall of sound!
*This is a fucking experience, not just a video*
Love everything about this! Drums sounding crisp but balanced well with strong low end without mud. Brass section is on point and each and every instrument truly added uniquely to the depth and breadth of the quality very tastefully.
I'll say it in spanish for fonetic reasons: este tema me rompe la cabeza
This song is so unbelievably epic
I like this, very beautiful, what a sad song.
I just love her vocals.
this gave me chills
when is this gonna be on Spotify
This can cure any sort of heart ache. Mind blowing arrangement 🤘🏻
Oh my goodness... She's incredible! And this reharm.. I'm blown away!
I hear Snarky Puppy All through this...Nice reharm!!!!
Why'd you remove the las video? it was a great insite to the hipocrecy of music corporations and their money hunger
Quedé
I absolutely LOVE this arrangement, however I'm truly missing the bass in this compared to the live version you also have posted on this channel. Horns volume seems a tad underwhelming as well. The bamboo flute is awesome in this to get that meditative vibe, however it over powers the vocalist in the mix when they both are playing at the same time.
Just my thoughts, keep em comin Adam! Can't wait for the spotify release.
Yeah the mix isn't the best but I honestly don't think production value was the goal here. More so the arrangement and the performance of it. With that said I think the production is pretty good considering. Definitely could have been worse.
@@phantomprism7659 Agreed, to me it is just one of those things where I didn't know I wanted it till it wasn't there. If I had heard this before the live video version, I don't think I would have noticed the mix too much outside of the bamboo flute overpowering the singer. The production in-terms of video quality and content was amazing but if this is the audio that's going to be put on spotify, I would've liked a better mix, personally.
UGH ITS A SHAKUHACHI
NOT A BAMBOO FLUTE

Now that. Is something to be proud of.
Putting the normal chords after the crazy ones is simple but genius
Zac zingers sax solo literally brought tears to my eyes honestly I couldn’t help it
I can't stop listening to this and Thank u, DbMaj7.
This still gives me chills
Yeah, I got chills.
So beautiful
When the bari sax hits you like a train!
I need more power jazz ballads like this
Oh my god!!! this is a fucking dope composition!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1:10 always give me chills.
Gives me chills every fucking time I listen to it
All of you are incredible musicians, damn!
Beautiful arrangement, beautifully played and spectacularly singed, great production, just wow;
I love how when you copied the description you accidentally left in the part that says that the background music is your band
Hello yes I've listened to this 12 times since it came out and I'm not even upset about it.
This triplet rhythms that appear at the last chorus, goddamn.
You are on the cusp of a new wave. Modern music has become so boring that everyone is scrambling and looking for what’s next. And I’m not talking about this piece necessarily. It’s just this genuine feeling you bring.
I fucking love your arrangements!
