I now have an online store where I sell replacement parts and components, as well as some of the items I fix in my videos. Please check it out over at www.consolefix.shop
I watch a lot of different console repairers on UA-cam. You seem to be the most knowledgeable and explain the process better than others. Well done mate.
Thanks mate, glad you find them useful. I like to go into detail but it's a little difficult with bulk repairathons like this because of time restrictions
Re-balling a BGA chip by hand and getting results is awesome work and requires lots of skill, and patience. Well done I hope you make a successful business from you r work.
I have a new appreciation for what you do, just opened my switch for a broken charge port and almost died at the size of m92t36. I knew there was a down side to watching your videos on a 40 inch TV. Looks easy when it's that big 😂
I like how even thow you've been doing this a while you still get excited when youve fixed one. Love your compassion for the job. Very informative. Allso answered one of my questions. Bought and repaired a switch lite only to find parental controlls set up, on phoning nintendo was told without missing a breath to throw it in the bin because data protection says they can't give me a master pin. I politely told him that the previous owners details are all still on the device and need the pin to remove them. Keep up the good work
Great content phil. This feels very much like a tronicsfix video which is great as I enjoy watching his content also. Happy days. Keep up the great work 👍🏼
Nice one Phil, really enjoyed watching it. as for the 2nd Switch: at 21:43 you cut the jumper wire and, if you pause at the correct point, it looks like you cut into a part of the trace and the ground-layer nearby, looks like they are shorted together, maybe that is part of the problem.
40:36 "I'm gonna replace some caps and resistors". Proceeds in replacing every damn thing but the screws of the case. I've seen quite a few videos of yours, in which you reball chips, so I can confirm it now. You are mental!
Great content I don't know how you keep up with all of those chips. That would make my head hurt. I look forward to seeing the next videos. Keep up the great content.
Hey Phil, loved the vid, the second switch could probably have a problem with M92 or the components around it. Really looking forward to the next vid! :)
As always love the content, just bought a oled switch, have you had any issues with them? Not sure if they run the same hardware. Keep up the great work man!😊
Cheers mate. I've only worked on one and couldn't fix it because of the amount of liquid damage which had burnt traces on the nand. I have another one on the way though 😀
I was able to fix my Xbox one s by watching one of your videos, I really appreciate your work, especially when you have to re-ball something. Talk about patience! I’m a auto mechanic and I thought my job was tedious, but I’ve never had to do something like that
Just in case you didn't know: You don't have to phone Nintendo to remove Parental Control, the algorithm on which those codes are generated is known and there are websites which can generate it for you ;)
@@TheCod3r away for the weekend, but so far I’ve worked through 6, and it’s 3/6 going so far…. The joys of bulk buys eh? 😂😂 Looking forward to part two of yours ☺️
I keep wanting to send my Switch to your good self but bills and finances keep getting in the way lol It works AOK just doesn't dock any more and I broke the SD card reader when I put a new battery in and would love to get it dockable so I can play it on my super duper 4K monitor. Been enjoying the first two Mario Party's this week, Goldeneye soon too yay
Let me know when you're able to mate and I'll try and do it a little cheaper for you. Times are tough for everyone at the minute especially with the global fuel crisis going on 😐
Cheers buddy. A few people said it was OK but it kinda didn't sit right with me. I guess that was the beauty of releasing it early to supporters, gave me a chance to test it lol. As always I appreciate the feedback mate, it all helps make sure I'm releasing the best videos I can 😀
14:02 I'm interested how that goes, because I also bought broken console off ebay, fixed it and it also had parental lock on. Contacted Nintendo amd they just said, contact the owner, we cant do anything, good luck. With a bunch of back and forward with the seller I managed to get it off, but nintendo really didnt help at all. And this discourages me to buy any more switches.
They'll unlock it for you but only if you tell them it's your own console and one of the kids have set a parental lock without you knowing. If you tell them you bought it they won't help you. A few of us do it regularly and it works every time 😄
Got a question for @thecod3r Replaced a digi on nintendo switch. Screen works around the edges only. Bought another and it does the same. Replaced the board that controls touch and measured diode readings to a known good working board and all good. The old one works as normal. I have bought a third now to see if it works. Do you know if theres compatibility issues or diff variants off digitisers?
The current going rate on the Switch Lite (loose) is ~$110.00. However, I'm seeing recent sold listings for the Motherboard, alone, for $125.00. Can't seem to find the logic in this market, cause at the same time broken Switch Lites are rarely under $70. Guess the only thing that makes sense is to scrap the ones you get working. I have no clue how to safely package a mobo though.
OK, Phil, you want to see a REAL horror movie? How about trying to fix my 1987 Toshiba laptop, with at least 20 dead large capacitors, as they released their magical juice all into the power distribution board, eating away almost all of the traces, and chip legs??
I'm told your the guy to talk to. My kids switch lite that the screen no longer works but was still turning on and making noise but no screen. I followed a tutorial from one of your subscribers that suggested you. After making the potential fix the lite no longer makes noise either so I can only assume it's completely done for. Any advice or ideas. I was also told you do fixes of that's an option.
I'm looking for a new switch and was wondering where you sell the ones you refurbish. Because the one I have can't be played in handheld mode anymore. My Switch doesn't recognize that there are joycons connected so I can only ply in docked or tabletop mode and the screen is too small for me to play in tabletop. I looked in the description for this video but couldn't find anything that would take me to where they would be sold.
Hi, my grandsons switch keeps freezing after a couple of minutes and has to be soft reset to start. If we send it can you repair? We will pay. By the way it seems a bit bendy? Thanks James

Best of the best
Don't forget part 2 at some point.. love the vids, really appreciate the effort and time you put in.
Cant wait for part two. I liked the editing and the music. Cheers Phil.
I repair electronics for a living, and still watch every video you post and am guaranteed to learn something each time! Thanks
Thanks buddy really appreciated

Well done Phil. Amazing job changing that capacitors 😮. So much patience

I had never actually seen the dreaded reballing, only people talking about it. Great video
Cheers bud, it's good fun especially when it works 💪
I'm hoping with getting 3/5 working and whatever happens with the next 5 you're able to make a good profit. Keep up the good work Phil.
Switch repairs I find the most interesting. Great video.

Cracking video TheCod3r, learnt tons, and as always enjoy your explanations of process and honest approach. Keep on trucking
Great job so far well done bud.

That severely water damaged switch turning on was a miracle... wow.
Love your work bro, really good content you create wish the video was longer 👍🏾
Thanks mate. I wish I could but most people wouldn't watch it if I made it much longer
Great work as always Phil, and i like your new hair cut!
Cheers buddy much appreciated 👍
This video format was a lot better really nice job
Every time I watch you do a rebelling I feel bad for you. However, watching you do one is how I subscribed to your channel!
Awesome vid Philly got lucky on the 3rd one 😂
Cheers bud
Lots of 420's through the video. Phil makes this look so easy. You forget how small these parts are.
Cheers bud, yeah it's crazy when looking through the scope, then looking with your eyes you realize you can barely see the things lol
Great video Phil !! Nice to see you try repairathons 👍
Cheers bud glad you enjoyed it 😀
Very well explained mate! Keep the vids coming. Thank you
Where did part 2 go??
you are amazing!! love the content!
Nice one love it .. that reballing was brilliant .. wether it was going to work or not and it did work .. good job my friend .. love your work
Cheers buddy, I appreciate that 👍
That is a good deal £420 , I saw another joblot with a bunch of nintendo switches but I am not really ready to start doing that just yet.
Yeah £42 per unit is a great deal. I know the seller has another bundle but I'm in two minds whether to buy them or not
I love watching your content Coder, you are truly amazing at what you do. Keep it up man! 🤗
I couldn't help but laugh at first thinking you were ribbing a fellow UA-cam repair technician. I think you know which one I'm talking about! Lol
I love your videos man. Same with Steves channel. Good stuff
You're dope bro, I've always been fascinated with fixing electronics
I think just putting some flux on all those caps and re-flowing would have prevented further corrosion

Where is part 2 please
The suspense is unsustainable ! 😮
Where's part 2?
Better than factory ! Iam really impress by reballing
Haha cheers mate
Do you also replace screens and bezels?
I bought myself 4 switch stencils, I'll send you one over if you'd like? It saves so much time. And it covers all chips.
I actually found one after I made this video. I must've bought one and forgot about it 😅
amazing work ! and love the accent ! 😀
I can't seem to even find one fairly priced switch to buy and work on, onto the video! :)

So relaxing watching ur videos thank you

Great video. Wouldn't a stencil + solder paste save a lot of time when re-balling the ram, or is the method with the stencil & paste less reliable?
Manually placing solder balls makes me want to gouge my eyes out.
