I've never been first to a video before, so I'm going to savor this moment.
Hello! 😊
I’ll eventually get to Old Gods Time. But I’m very intrigued by The Farmers Wife that sounds so interesting to me
These sound wonderful, Eric!
Hi Eric! I am reading Medea album Rosie Hewlett at the moment and absolutely loving it. I also just finished Glorious Exploits and am on a Greek Mythology binge. I was looking on Prime for televised adaptations and saw the Greek Myth programme you just mentioned, this was about an hour before I watched your video. What a coincidence!!
Ah, that’s great! The programme is so good - lots of episodes! What did you think of Glorious Exploits? I keep meaning to read it.
@@EricKarlAnderson yes I thought it was really good and so unexpectedly funny in parts. I look forward to hearing your thoughts when you get to it x
Old Gods Time.. one of the best books I’ve read and will stay with me for a long time. Hope it wins.
Eric I love your energy and thoughts on these book. Personally I think you undersold Babel.
Similar in a way to the Golden Mole is one of my favorites, Animal Dialogues by Craig Childs. He also has a number of engrossing non-function books about the Southwest US and northern Mexico.
* nonfiction
What an excellent set of shortlists. I really want to read Finding Hildasay. It sounds wonderful. I recently read The Golden Mole and thought it was excellent. The wombat chapter was particularly strong!
I’m so glad you enjoyed The Golden Mole. And yes, Finding Hildasay sounds like a very moving and contemplative book.
Started yesterday - only a year late! - Claire Keegan's Antarctica. Very much liked the way she describes interior spaces, baubles, and whatnots. tbh tho the first two stories did not completely capture my attention: a little too much sensationalism at this point IMHO. Thanks for the suggestion.
I’ve had Antarctica on request at my local library for months. Expecting to receive it quite soon and looking forward to reading it.
Agreed! I was really unsure after the first story but then got into some of the others.
