Agree - beautiful speech. Reference to Dublin existing in the mental space of writers is so true.

I already knew I wanted to read Solenoid, but after his speech I HAVE TO and soon. I also absolutely want to read Praiseworthy! It sounds so grand and beautiful. And that cover is intriguing.

This makes me so happy! I'm obsessed with Solenoid and want to read everything Cartarescu writes! More people should be checking out this book and I totally agree with your comment about the International Booker Prize Eric.

Love your enthusiasm. I appreciated the presenter's care with pronounciation of the Romanian names. What amazing speeches from both Cartarescu and Cotter. I guess I should finally read it. :-)

Really has to be one of the best acceptance speeches. I think based on what he said I will have to try this book.

I’m happy for Solenoid, it was published by Deep Vellum which is US based, if that makes a difference for the international Booker. Also can’t recommend Sleeping Car Porter enough. So many good books so little time

A fantastic and richly deserved prize for Mircea Cartarescu and Sean Cotter, who are truly one of the most eloquent matches of author and translator that we have now. This was a genius move on your part,Eric, to pick up this Dublin Lit Prize livestream so we can share in your reaction to one of the loveliest acceptance speeches in recent years. Just magnificent.
