It's all good. For 90% of the suit I used that CAP Barbell Roll Up Foam mat that I linked in the description. It's about 7mm thick. Here's the parts that were different sizes: *The hand plates are 5mm craft foam. *The shoe ankle guards are the same 5mm foam and the strip of foam on the shoe is 2mm thick. *The gray little circles and rectangles on the back armor are 5mm foam. *The buttons on the pauldron are 2mm *The compad is 5mm *The helmet fin is 2mm in the middle and 5mm on the edges. And the air filter circles on the front are 5mm with a small 2mm circle in the middle. I think that's about it, let me know if there's a specific piece you need.
Hey! I live in the US so I used normal 8.5 x 11 "Letter" sized paper. If you live outside the US then your paper might be a little different which might change the size of the template. No matter where you live, if you want the EXACT same template as the one I used then you should select "print original size" on your printer. Don't choose "fit to page" unless you want a smaller template. Hope this helps!

Like with a measuring tape cuz doing the height scaling is a bit difficult on my end, Just figured I ask for help lol cuz materials are kinda expensive for me asf and I don’t wanna mess up
Thanks a lot for the templates, been looking to make an armor for a while, it helped me a lot, one small question though, what do the numbers mean, is it measurements?
Hi! I just discovered this amazing channel & tutorial! Thanks so much for sharing this with the world! I printed out the templates, but do you have an instructions spreadsheet for those of us new to armor making? Thanks!!!
Hey 👋, I’m really eager to make at least the helmet using your templates to make a “Tup” helmet, but I’m kinda new to this and have a couple questions: * On the templates with numbers on it the templates have triangle like bits on them like a paper model. It looks like you are supposed to fold it but I’m not sure how that would work with foam. Do you just ignore them? * What size paper do you print this on? A3, A4, A2? I want to make sure I get the dimensions correct. * Is there a specific type of spray paint to use when painting this, I don’t want to accidentally melt the foam using the wrong type of paint 😅. Thank you again for making this and providing it for free, people like you make me want to carry on with my passion for making 😄
Hello. Sorry for the late reply. The helmet template was not originally designed for use with EVA foam because it doesn't account for thickness. It would be hard, but not impossible, so yes you would ignore the flaps. I live in the US so all of my templates are meant for "Letter" sized paper which I think is close to A4. If you are painting foam, you'll want a flexible paint like PlaidFX. If you are using the plastic pepakura helmet like I showed in my tutorial series then any paint will work because it won't need to flex. Check out the helmet series if you haven't already. Thanks for you're interest! ua-cam.com/video/HMPydsIoOzc/v-deo.html&t
I'm 5'6, I printed it in your scale but I'm happily putting it up piece by piece, I don't mind being a walking meme of that one police officer that they couldn't find smaller protest armor for 😂😂
I used about 1 and 1/2 rolls of this foam (its also in the description). It's a little different than the puzzle piece kind. Also, the helmet is not foam sadly, I have a video about it here. ua-cam.com/video/I1kE4r5U-bA/v-deo.html&t www.amazon.com/CAP-Barbell-Roll-Antimicrobial-Foam/dp/B00M1S9Q04
I'm actually making another costume so I'll make the helmet the same way for that one and do a tutorial on it. I was using liquid resin so if you're younger, I don't recommend making it the same way as me as it's kinda dangerous if you don't know how to do it. There's some tutorials on UA-cam on how to use Smooth Cast resin if you need help now.
@@michaelg_composer You could modify it a little to get it close but the helmet is a little complex on the front area so I can't recommend it with this template. On my RPF page, there was someone who unfolded a pepakura helmet for foam. Maybe check that out.
The straps are really just an elastic circle that goes around your neck and 2 strips of elastic that go on opposite sides down your arm. If you want it easier to put on, you can cut the back of the neck strap and put velcro in place, but you don't have to.

@@ryzer_red thanks and yeah that sounds cool lol
im not really sure on what type of speaker you used but perhaps you could integrate it into the pauldren where the ammo pouch is. idk if this was helpful to anyone but thought i could say it to see if anyone does it
I've though about putting it in the ammo pouch, and I think it would work. I just need to find the time to try it lol.
What kind of paint did you use for the foam, please include all the kinds of coating paint and other paints in a list.
I used Rustoleum gloss white spray pain for the base coat of white. For the red, I used DecoArt Americana Red Alert acrylic. I also used some generic black and gray acrylic paints for the helmet details. I would recommend using white plasti-dip if you don't want the paint to chip and fall off.
@@ryzer_red thank you so much, I was debating on what type of paint I'm gonna use and getting confused, thanks, now I know what paints I'm gonna use, thank you.
@@danteintense5164 No problem! Good luck.
I ended up ordering the half inch Eva in the description before reading that he used 6mm. How do you guys thing a half inch thick armor will turn out
I apologize for asking so many questions, but which thickness of foam is used for which pieces?
It's all good. For 90% of the suit I used that CAP Barbell Roll Up Foam mat that I linked in the description. It's about 7mm thick.
Here's the parts that were different sizes:
*The hand plates are 5mm craft foam.
*The shoe ankle guards are the same 5mm foam and the strip of foam on the shoe is 2mm thick.
*The gray little circles and rectangles on the back armor are 5mm foam.
*The buttons on the pauldron are 2mm
*The compad is 5mm
*The helmet fin is 2mm in the middle and 5mm on the edges. And the air filter circles on the front are 5mm with a small 2mm circle in the middle.
I think that's about it, let me know if there's a specific piece you need.
Me encanta tu trabajo eres muy avial y sigue así , eres mi inspiración
Hey I'm a similar height would printing the template on a normal peice of printer paper work or do I need bigger peices?
@@ryzer_red thanks this helps alot thank you
Bro thx you, now i want to make me a clone armor i finally found the meaning of my life
Its definitely a challenge but soooo worth it if you can put the time into it!
Thanks so much for this! I’m short on allowance money so this really helped. Also, I’m hoping to be a fanon character I created called Captain Lobster.
“Im not a professional” (fully painted foam armor)
Me with cardboard and a dream:📦 🧍♀️
So do you print the helmet and rest of the template on 8.5 x 11 paper?
Yes, that's what I did. But if you need a different paper, you can just choose print original size when you go to print.
Bruh you at you 1k already yay
also for the abdomen add a buckle and also the other end of the cod peice
it will help with placement
Dang I wish I found this vid before I bought my Rex Pepakura files lol. I'm making my first cosplay (Captain Rex p2) and Im going to use a lot of your attachment methods and building materials. My question however, how many of those mats did you have to buy to make the full armor?
Ah I see. Rex is pretty cool! I used 1 and 1/2 of the roll kind of mats that I listed in the description so I bought 2 mats total. :)
@@ryzer_red I also forgot to ask, can you link your undersuit? Or tell me where to find it? Also where/how did you make your helmet
@@boredasian9445 I can't remember exactly, but I think the under suit was this one. Also I have a new video series going over the helmet if you didn't already see it. www.amazon.com/Lycra-Spandex-Costume-Zentai-Black/dp/B01IUDM2P4/ref=pb_allspark_session_sims_desktop_193_8?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01IUCQDKA&pd_rd_r=580ec267-c186-4d5d-b641-bcb190505820&pd_rd_w=ShE4r&pd_rd_wg=7RaW9&pf_rd_p=e500004d-dce5-4973-9afd-bba519c83f08&pf_rd_r=RGSF1N0B94M72XJ702CK&psc=1&refRID=RGSF1N0B94M72XJ702CK
I cant figure out any way to open the helmet template files. What free software can I use to open it?
The program is called Pepakura. I have covered this in 2 other videos so I recommend checking them out. My Q and A vid, and the Helmet vid too. :)
Hi! So I’m new to cosplaying a bit and I wanna make my own armor but I printed out the template (thank you so much for making it free lol) but I’m having a hard time figuring out how to size it , do you know how I could figure out to size it? Like with a measuring tape cuz doing the height scaling is a bit difficult on my end, Just figured I ask for help lol cuz materials are kinda expensive for me asf and I don’t wanna mess up
Thanks a lot for the templates, been looking to make an armor for a while, it helped me a lot, one small question though, what do the numbers mean, is it measurements?
Hi! I just discovered this amazing channel & tutorial! Thanks so much for sharing this with the world! I printed out the templates, but do you have an instructions spreadsheet for those of us new to armor making? Thanks!!!
I think your work is wicked cool. Is there any chance you have a template for a storm trooper original for Eva foam.
Have you thought about putting the speaker in the pauldron ammo box?
Hey 👋,
I’m really eager to make at least the helmet using your templates to make a “Tup” helmet, but I’m kinda new to this and have a couple questions:
* On the templates with numbers on it the templates have triangle like bits on them like a paper model.

I'm 5'6, I printed it in your scale but I'm happily putting it up piece by piece, I don't mind being a walking meme of that one police officer that they couldn't find smaller protest armor for 😂😂
great video !! but i would like to know how many eva foam matts you used for the whole set + helmet?
I used about 1 and 1/2 rolls of this foam (its also in the description). It's a little different than the puzzle piece kind. Also, the helmet is not foam sadly, I have a video about it here.

@@ryzer_red cheers mate, yh saw the helmet was made of pepakura, thanks again!
How much money did it cost do buy the foam?
Its actually pretty cheap. Im planning on making one.
Hey can you do a tutorial video on how to make the pepakura into the helmet?
I'm actually making another costume so I'll make the helmet the same way for that one and do a tutorial on it. I was using liquid resin so if you're younger, I don't recommend making it the same way as me as it's kinda dangerous if you don't know how to do it. There's some tutorials on UA-cam on how to use Smooth Cast resin if you need help now.
@@ryzer_red would foam work for making the helmet?
@@michaelg_composer You could modify it a little to get it close but the helmet is a little complex on the front area so I can't recommend it with this template. On my RPF page, there was someone who unfolded a pepakura helmet for foam. Maybe check that out.
So I can see you respond to mostly everyone but is there or can you make a template for the bicep straps
The straps are really just an elastic circle that goes around your neck and 2 strips of elastic that go on opposite sides down your arm. If you want it easier to put on, you can cut the back of the neck strap and put velcro in place, but you don't have to.
Can you make the cloth that commanders ( I think) had around their legs
I have a question, how should I set the printer settings? to full scale (some lines exceed the printer borders then) or printer optimized?
Can you do this for cardboard? I would like to make one but only have cardboard
