I'm not on Patreon, I am so glad you put up this video on UA-cam so I could see your Pecan Grove property. It is beautiful. To see the field before and after Danny was done turning the soil was like night and day. It was a lot of work, but a satisfying kind of hard work. You guys are going to do amazing things here. What is that little patch of green you left undisturbed with shrubs/bushes growing in the corn field? Just curious.
Good morning ☀️ Look at all that rich, beautiful soil! All these years it sat there waiting for y'all to bring it back to life! A new beginning for sure! You two are simply amazing! Thank you for sharing your lives with all of us & teaching us how it's done! 👍 God Bless
You can tell that land has not been worked for a long time. But wow it's pretty. I know you're not supposed to say dirt, LOL. But I still love the smell of freshly plowed dirt.
Good morning from Alabama. I’m so glad you were able to buy this property. You and Wanda will be good stewards on this property. Blessings to you both.
Oh my dear Lord. Seeing that tractor preform all of those task gave me the best memories of living on a large farm. I’ll never forget the SMELL of dirt. Just wonderful. Thanks Wanda, you are working that camera.
Absolutely gorgeous! I remember working the farm when I was younger. I will tell you that I often came home exhausted from being beat up by the old tractor that my stepdad and stepbrother use to put me on. I was so sore by the end of the week. But once I saw the end result and harvest time came it was very satisfying. Thank You for sharing this with us! It brought back wonderful memories of my childhood! I will say that a lot of people have no idea how hard a farmer works to bring in the crops of food! Much Love from our family to your family 💞
Good Morning Danny and Wanda. I know y’all are working hard at Pecan Grove. I am so excited to follow along here and on Patron. I will be praying for y’all and can’t wait to see the fruits of your labor. Thank y’all for sharing and have a blessed day.
Good morning Mr Danny and Ms Wanda. Wishing y'all good luck with your field of dreams! 🌽🌽🌽 Your antique implements are awesome and look like they are extremely helpful.
Awesome, the amount of work to get a new piece of land ready to plant can be a lot of work and extremely time consuming. I am doing that here. Loved what y’all did. I can’t even get in my field yet.
Thank you Danny and Wanda. I turn 64 in May and I have asked the high school kid next door to start helping me out this year in the garden. I have taught him to operate the Wheel Horse tractor, only broke it once (too tight of a turn with the tiller, a pully), but he is a good hand. Looking forward to the help. Also, the more we teach, the less ZOMBIES we will have to deal with afterwards. God Bless and stay safe.
I know I had heard something about the "other property" but must have missed more details. Is it just land to grow in? Either way, I pray the crops do wonderful this year.
WOW...I am drooling over your soil, not a single rock. We have too many rocks here in Arkansas, so we just do raised bed. Looking forward to seeing some Danny corn for sell on Etsy. Hope you guys have abundance harvest!
Danny , have you watched Jtwes & the very old 2 seater planter , planting potatoes , & other seed up coming , amazing what Joey is trying to do , stay safe !
What a beautiful place! Those rows look so sweet! Danny, did y'all walk that spot to see if there are any Native American artifacts? I saw alot of rock that had been brought up by the rain...
What a beautiful property! I don’t know what it is about all the tractor work but is just so satisfying and mesmerizing for me to see you work the land. Thank you for sharing.
Looks like a great start! Nice big field. I'm still weeks away from getting seeds in the ground so it's good to see something going on. Try some cover crops between the corn rows: seven to nine inches away from the corn plants, and when the corn has it's third set of leaves I'm using a mix of buckwheat, flax, black lentils, and dutch white clover, plus winter rye from last fall (spring oats otherwise) -- give all the N, P, and K vitamins, weed control and insect control (beneficial insects). But having that cover mix drops soil temps five to fifteen degrees and slows water evaporation which your area is especially susceptible to in the middle of the summer. The corn will out-compete the covers if staged planting is used and then when the corn is cut off they will fill in so next year's corn gets even better soil. Experiment with a few rows in different spots across the field to see what works best for you.
Danny and Wanda. Pecan Grove is absolutely beautiful.

Clovers won't grow in the summer heat here they're a cool weather crop.
