I never thought in my wildest dream that an italian man would court me by taking me to Venice, staying at the Danieli Hotel, and with its private water taxi, he took me to Murano island to see the glass works by the artists there. Thank you tesoro mio. I married him and lived in Milan for many years as our home base as we did live in many other countries as well for his job. But I lost him 5 years ago. A romantic beautiful story that I've been blessed with. Thank you, Italy.
Venezia is the most beautiful city I’ve ever visited. Nothing like it anywhere. Venezia, forever in my heart. My friend treated us to an all day private boat tour Grand Canal with several stops. One of the best days of my life. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We went to Venice in 2009.It was so amazing to ,actually see this beautiful city. I have traveled with my deceased husband for many years and drove from Northern Italy to Trieste to Slovenia. This was an absolutely memorable trip.
Complete and detailed documentary, never boring. Venice is the city of my ancestors who have lived there since the 12th century. Venice and its province are wonderful destinations for their cultural experiences, natural beauty, excellent food, wine and friendly people. I am a teacher and hold a PhD in Italian history. If you are looking for a bespoke tour in English or Spanish, reply to contact me.
I loved the 3-hour hike from our hotel---didn't know where we were going....but we finally made it----we got back to our hotel----after climbing l5 or so tiny bridges. So much fun....Loved Venice...
I worked in Vicenza and Aviano for years. Weekends, I usually stayed across the water in Mestre and then trained it across the bridge... 20 minutes or so. From the Stazione, you can waterbus it up the Grand Canal one way, or the lagoon the other. I usually hoofed it through all the amazing narrow streets - up and over the bridges, including the largest - Rialto, to San Marco. A truly memorable view of the city is at night when all the cruise ships are gone. The streets are all illuminated and the silence is deafening! :)
A unique and breathtaking city. Venice is like no other city in the world. I visited Venice in 2019 and thereafter, the memories remain etched on my mind. Every where is fantastic: St Mark's Square, the Dogge's Palace, Rialto bridge, Grand canal, the bridge of sighs, the Campanelli tower, etc. Visiting Venice is an experience i will never forget. I feel like reliving that once-in-a-lifetime moment. Thank you Venezia.
Very nice video so many beautiful things to see and historical aspects to know about this marvelous city. Honestly, this video motivates me to go and visit Vienna!!!😉
Any recommendations for a curious tourist who isn't really into the basic tourist stuff? Aka I'm kinda broke but I'm gonna visit the city & i would love to see more than the basics :) thanks in advance (im desperate lol)
@@annavanproosdij1474 For starters, if you are on a tight budget, do not stay in Venice. You can find more reasonable accommodations in Mestre, which is considered 'Venice on the mainland'. It's a 15 minute train ride into Venice. Further, get yourself a city map when you get there. You'll need it. They are pretty cheap and available most anywhere. Venice is a confusing array of canals & walkways. Arm yourself with an aid. Also, do a Google Map search of Venice before you get there, just to familiarize yourself with the lay of the city. That will help when you have that map in hand. You should see the basic touristy stuff (Piazza San Marco, the Rialto Bridge, etc.), but please swallow your pride and venture away from those areas. Consider a vaporetto ticket. It's not cheap (20€) but it allows you 24 hours of travel on the city bus system (boats, but only boats that have an ACTV logo). They have other deals for longer times if you need that. Just outside of the front of the train station, on the Grande Canal, there are kiosks where you get these tickets (and maps). Please keep in mind that Venice has cleverly installed mostly yellow signs (sometimes white) that are arrowed, and point you in the right direction of things that are landmarks (San Marco, Rialto, Ferro Via-the train station, etc). They are mounted on the sides of buildings around the city. Above all, don't be afraid to get lost (you will). It's part of Venice's charm. Get away from the crowds. See the real Venezia!!....oh, one more thing. Always try to get on the back open section of the vaporetto. That's where the most interesting photos are had....Have fun!
Venecia es una maravillosa ciudad, que no cansa de recorrer y conocer su novedosa contruccion de sus palacios, sus multiples puentes, paseo en gondola,ferry.....y sus riquesas historicas......es un sueño el haber conocido Venecia
i go to venice every year. except during the covid virus. i will return in 2022. i buy my home decor , chandeliers and tapestry there. as i am a mosaic artist, i buy my glass from factories there...melody
Ronald Smith: Great dream to have and destination to set your sites on. Along with the normal tourist €$€ means of visiting Venice, there are also plenty of long-term employment opportunities for those willing to make a move. US gov't/DoD positions especially in the regions of Northern Italy at Aviano and Vicenza, but also in the region around Naples at the opposite end and side of the boot.. Most require a commitment of 24-36 months, but many firms include allowances for relocation. Once there, anytime during the day you're feeling a little homesick, a small 3 ft. dish on your roof gives you 100-plus satellite-fed UK/US TV channels (Yes, CNN and other Turner stations air 24-7), and there are the daily English language newspapers - International Herald Tribune, UK papers and on US bases, the daily Stars and Stripes. I think there is still also a version of USA Today. The US Armed Forces network does a good job on both AM and FM bands and broadcasts a lot of syndicated programs (AT40, NPR). So you never lose contact with home and you don't feel like you've wandered into a Black Hole. This of course is in addition to the other normal European languages feeds which allow you to also immerse yourself in the culture. The majority of the Euro population has a strong grasp of the English language, but you get better service and more respect if you at least make an effort to greet and converse in theirs.
