    The install of the fuel pump was a great success, thanks to your instruction video! No need to learn in the new fuel pump, just disconnecting the battery a few hours before install did the job. On to the next project: wet floor in the focus.

      I'm so happy to hear mate just wish I could of shown how to actually get it outta the tank but very hard to do and yeah my next video will be reinstalling new rooflining in your car as mine is toast
      But all in all I'm glad I've been able to help you out in some way

      That will be the guttering blocked under the windscreen. Unplug the rubber and leave it unplugged , because the problem returns if you replace that plug !.

    Thanks, it is done! I hope this new electric fuel pump is at the top of its tasks. ☺

      In the UK TDCi there is not a fuel pump in the tank. There is only the high pressure pump at the engine. The system might need priming.

    • @Hsfgd08
      @Hsfgd08 3 роки тому

      @@tryagain.k1821 Yes, but I said about petrol engine, in this case the fuel pump is located into fuel tank and fuel filter is somewhere near by the fuel tank. OK ☺

    I suppose one could look at it and say he has done what Ford should have done in the beginning, which is put a service hatch in.
    As long as the finished job is safe then there is no problem.....except maybe selling the car on or letting the car insurers know about it.

  • @deepchillzone
    @deepchillzone 5 років тому +4

    If a car cost less then the cost that many garages take for this job, this is an good solution, especially if you are planning to drive that car untill the end. Ford Should have chosen to add an hatch on that spot, but they didn't.
    Question, i read sometimes you have to "learn'' the new fuel pump into the car's computer. is this true?

    • @bt-media
      @bt-media  5 років тому +2

      Exactly

    • @bt-media
      @bt-media  5 років тому +2

      I was the exact same way like "hell naw lol" and decided to do it this way as if it Ever goes again it will be much simpler and it's my luck lol
      And in answer to your question it depends on your car like my car in Australia my Ford falcon (fusion in USA) yes it has to "learn" which is simpally done by disconnecting the battery for 24 hrs to reset the computer then it's easier for it to learn and do it correctly some of the older cars like this one in the video are much simp2and don't need to learn lol

      @@bt-media Yeah i hate it when you know you are gonna ripped off for a job when you know you could done it yourself. Never had any mechanic experience, but replaced the gear box speed sensor on my own on my 1999 focus as well as the destributor cap, just learning from youtube. Guys like you just helps other guys out for finding an solution for every day problems. As for the 24hrs reset, did you do that on the focus as well? disconnect the battery for 24hrs and on the meanwhile, repair the fuel pump? and did you order the same one that was already installed or dit you order another brand?

    • @bt-media
      @bt-media  5 років тому +1

    • @bt-media
      @bt-media  7 років тому

      SoAExile Sorry very hard to show but once the hole is cut you just disconnect all the hoses and then understand screw the pump once it's open to remove it you simply turn the pump unit by 1/4 turn and it comes out
      To put it back in repeat this prosess in reverse its seems complicated but when you see it in real life it will make sence

    😃 This is like: "Why you make things just so complicated", because there are always another way? Old Volkswagen cars has typically already have this "hole" there (gives access to electric fuel pump), so no need for extra job - things are already made easier way. Huuuh ☺
