I think we can all agree that the porno theater in the background at 1:46 was a classy touch. Very nice.
You're sucha devo!
Hey! I know that place!
You, my friend, have akeen eye.
That's amarillo for you.
Now that explains the selective blurring on the video
That's Texas for ya
It would probably fly even better without the blur on the nacelles.
Just saying.. :)
lel
Saw that and the only reason I can think of is that they are trying to hide something in the transition area that is new technology. That or knowing bell, they don't want anyone to see the Duct tape holding everything together.
Actually, we're hiding the 24-speaker Bose sound system
As long as the espresso maker is still sacred..
will it play Wagner?
soooo, lol why is $$$ being pumped into this? Granted I know we have a not so modern helicopter fleet but you can't replace oranges with apples. It maybe able to hover but let's see it drop into a hot/very small LZ at 1000 fpm, dump out the troops/Marines, max perf. takeoff out of the fire in under 30 seconds like a uh-1 or 60...or maybe it won't be used for that. I dunno. I think it'd make a great alternative to all those traffic jams in LA and NYC.
Congratulations to Bell Helicopter and the V280 team! She’s a beauty.
I'm doing software test on it. She is an amazing machine!
...and the people I work with are absolutely wonderful dedicated quality professionals. It's a privilege to work with them!
Not as crashey as the V-22 I hope but the bird seems real stable
Congratulations Bell Helicopter...you folks make us proud...and thumbs up to my son, Hunter Nelson who helped engineer the process!!!!
This bird will eat helicopters for breakfast.
Can't wait to see it at a full throttle !
Alexandre, me too, If rotating the blades 5° it will go 80 knots, then how fast will it go after rotating the blades 90° ?
Only if there is a dedicated attack version that have a chin turret... I might be dull minded here, but I don’t trust General purpose heli too much.
For a professional cooperation and video maker, your ability to keep prototype mechanics censored on this video and the internet suck :p
Then again, I don't think anyone can keep stuff secret any more, everyone, like, everyone has a camera or two now.
That said, I'm excited to see future implementations of this and all that are to come in the future, I'm amazed by what is being made and thrilled to see what can come of them all.
Have a pleasant day!

hi i'm brazilian and would like to congratulate the bell helicopter team on the modern V-280 VOICE VALUE bells voice revolutionized with the V 280 in the category of lightweight devices with speed and autonomy
I still hope to be able to see the V-280 value in the Brazilian military mainly in the Amazon that is very large in the north of the country
If it’s made in America. It will work.
With the Osprey, the engines tilt and that's a problem with hoses etc that have to continually flex. Now they don't have to bend cos the engines stay still in the Valor. Better idea, and I reckon it's not just the hoses that benefit from the new tilt idea.
คือทุกวันนี้ออกแบบโครงสร้างทั้งหมดแต่มันไม่มีกระดูกซี่โครง
They had to blur the engines so you can't tell how it works. Copyright. Patent.
Oops! Forgot to censor the hinge location during the flight. Now N. Korea is gonna build their own and make it stealthy too!
แต่สิ่งที่เราจะทำมันจะมีเฉพาะซี่โครงกระดูกไม่มีเนื้อ
I'm no aviation expert but, I don't quite understand the design logic for this aircraft. From what I've read about what the military wants out of the competition with the SB-1 Defiant, (a dual utility / combat platform), Even though it only recently made its first hover test flight I think the SB-1 Defiant is more in line with what the military wants. The V-280 just looks too vulnerable to weapons fire to be a "under fire" combat platform. I think my biggest worry for our nation's brave soldiers who might be in this some day is that if one of those nacelle's gets blown off, it will be crippled, be uncontrollable with one offset remaining nacelle & will drop like a proverbial rock. With the SB-1's somewhat more familiar design with the twin stacked rotors & a pusher, I think it just looks more survivable in a worst case scenario. Don't think I hate BELL, I dont, The venerable UH-1 IROQUOIS & the AH-1 COBRA will always be some of my all-time favorites chopper designs, but other than possible use as a utility / transport vehicle, I don't see a future for it.
Congrats to Bell! That is a very smooth ride for a first flight! I'm looking forward to seeing even more flight footage this year!
Does it stings too?

What I like is that irregardless of the US Armys FVL program, Bell says they will produce the Valor for other services, export and the Civilian market, and the technology is scalable. So now we know why Bell sold the BA-609 off to AgustaWestland, Bell considers it to be 1st Gen Tilt Rotor Technology.
One concept that bell will consider for future variants of the Valor Tilt Rotor (and not tilting Nacelles), is to mount the engines over the fuselage and have power shafts to the tilting rotors.
Any vets out there with feedback on the Ospreys job roles in combat conditions?? I'm sure I'm missing something but when you already have 47s and 53s, where exactly will this thing fit in? It looks cool at least!
1:45 It looks fucken sick though, and it seems smart to just have the rotors do the pivoting, go easy on the hydraulics and gears I say..
amazing, but why is there no video of the transition from helicopter to airplane and back?
Sikorsky x2 technology is better imo. Commonality between the heavy lift and the attack helicopter just like with the huey and cobra. They are extremely fast and maneuverable and for an attack helicopter they are very small where one of these as an attack helicopter would be way too big and not maneuverable enough. I think theres room for both though, but they already have the osprey... so idk.
A civilian tilt rotor is already rated and production has commence for customers thats already lining up. The Agusta Westland 609
Congrats bell. Looks great in the air. Can’t wait to see it with gears up and in full forward flight.
Its too wide. The Blackhawk is better than this in terms of mobility. Why cant they make something like those helicopters from the movie "Avatar" with the two rotor blades each side.
Looks like the engines are mounted stationary and do not rotate, I personally believe this is a much less complicated way to build a tilt rotor machine over something like the V22.
Oh wow, great job Bell!
Re-inventing the wheel, again LOL
Mal diseño de aeronave y porque censuran sus turbinas
It's great to see in person. If you go to the Texas Air an Space Museum in Amarillo, Tx. you can see these out doing there tests flights
I remember reading in a Magazine as a kid called International Combat Arms that you guys were working on a concept called the "Bell BAT" That was a Two seat (I Think?) Attack Version of the V-280. Will you be bringing that concept back as well?
А где же полет по самолетному? С повернутыми винтами?
И демонстрация поворота винтов? Американские налогоплательщики, где вы?) Вас опять обманывают)
I LIKE THIS HELI! ITS JUST PERFECT!!!
You ever hear of the Osprey?
ITS NEW FOR ME AND ITS AMAIZING!!!
I WISH I CAN INVITE THE BELL HELICOPTERS TO MAX 2019 IN RUSSIA!!!!
Just build a monstorous race drone, give it a cargo bay and hope to hell the g forces don't kill everyone inside
USA need jet engine that move fast or vertical lift that can move fast in and out of the battle. This airplane move too slow .It make a good target for the enemy.
Compro 90 unidades para o exército brasileiro
engine rotation joints are blurred - they secret?
hmmmmm.. this heli need more space then UH 60.
What advantages before helicopter?
So they are worried someone is going to copy their pivot? They sure did blot it out.
Very neat but the only reason i don't think it will be used is that it can't fold up like an osprey
I guess 80 Knots is right before they'd need to transition? Guessing since the Osprey transitions at like 90
This is some hi-tech sht, the engines are running on japanese pornography.
probably could have gone faster but for all that blur you got on the transmissions. that stuff slows you right down.
Make a heavy lift quadcopter version!
I wonder how this would perform on a carrier with all the rotor space it will need on start up
The Army should procure both Valor and Raider Raider for dedicated attack role ISR and Valor for Assault transport, utility . I know the logistics will be wild but manageable with time and technology.
4 prop? Or counter rotate type C130 version?, problably would make to much dust to be covert?.. Anyway just cool thought🌎👍
Clearly, the landing gear is designed to retract. The aircraft would have to be capable of over 200 knots in cruising flight to make the weight and complexity of such a system worthwhile.
Now I'm dying to know what you're Blurring out! Argh!
Tiltrotors are not a replacement for a traditional helicopter and there's no way the Air Force will allow the Army to have an armed variant of this because they will claim it's a fixed wing. The Army wants a base platform that can be developed into multiple roles and there's just no way they're going to be able to develop a gunship variant of this because tilltrotors are not as maneuverable in hover as a true helicopter (they have much higher disk loading) and the Air Force will fight like hell to stop them. I think the ideal situation is that the Army gets the SB-1 and a smaller number of V-280's but unfortunately they have to choose one or the other and I can only see them going with the platform that has the most utility and flexibility to be developed into multiple roles.
OK, that's unbelievably cool. Interesting that they're digitally obscuring the variable aspect drive mechanism at the front of the nacelles. I guess it's something a bit more sophisticated than a worm gear. My best guess is it's *magic*.
This thing is going to replace the black hawk
Love to see these on both Australian LHD SHIPS. With a nice weapons loadout no modifications needed with folding wings.
You ever watch yearly car shows where car brands try to conceal their new models from competitors by covering up some parts on the cars and then when you get to the car show ALL the cars still look the same down to taillight shapes as if 1 designer was contracted for all brands. This attempt of covering up trade secret component is silly as if Bell's competitors don't use more sophisticated means to infiltrate and study their R&D.
This airframe with the push propeller and the double coaxial rotor's of the Sikorsky would make an incredible helicopter 2 wings on the side with room for 3 pilons for weapons a better weapon benith the cabin because the one used on the apache its very inaccurate at medium and even worst at long ranges with 360 degrees view the latest radars optics etc etc And would be a great apache viper and even Blackhawk replacement .I hope they make use of the incredible technology at there disposal today and don't let the gread and corruption get in the way of giving the best tho those soldiers on the front lines
Feel like I'm watching a JAV censored... LOL. It looks so nice.
Definitely will win against deviant
I’m in AMT school a few miles from where they’re assembling and test flying this thing. Really cool to see in person.
Why were some parts blurred out?
Aw yes, finally more tiltrotor aircraft are popping up! The Valor looks awesome, I'm looking forward to seeing her in service. Keep up the great work guys!
มีแต่ราคาคุย
No blade fold wing stow huh
What?! Was it really exist???!?!
Nice one..... Needs stiffer wings though hope they don't crash as much as the osprey.
Sadly it does not work in space
why exhaust area blurred out?
Awesome.. Can't wait to see it in a War Movie with two door gunners on Mini cannons hosing down the enemy whilst yelling "Get Some"
Was it just me or were the hinges on the propellers blurred? It looked like editing, why would that be the big secret?
Anybody know why they are blurring the front of the nacelles? Stealth contouring? So the front gear can retract, but not the rear?
standard metrics please
You can also see the Osprey out as well
Nah, has the infamous Bonanza v-tail, will crash all over the place.
Nice design but the surface area for that wing span, jesus. Wing span ingeneral is just THICC
This is the future for comuter aviation for smaler destination. Saves a lot investment in infrastructure.
It should be called the Crow, when the Army adopts it.
that's 200 short !! (as 280-80) !!
Valor morghulis !
Reached 80 knots? Amazing...
Even though the v22 is nice, this is more practical and it also looks easier to maintain.
This would honestly be a perfect regional airliner too.
why did they blur ?
y are they bluring the connection joint of the pods? hmmmmmmm
What’s the difference between the Valor and an V-22?
The V-22 is a transport to move around troops and equipment behind the frontlines. The Valor only about half the size and something you'd actually use to fly troops into battle.
Special Ops Blackhawk replacement?🤔
will it blend?
Tail wheel huh, ground loop that and there might be a pile of parts.
Looking forward to future tilt rotors like those in the movie Edge of Tomorrow.
Its like hentai. The good parts are censored.
What is the secret sauce you are hiding from us???
Poland loves USA 🇵🇱🇺🇸👍
Can it be shipped by a Galaxy or C17?
Amazing technology, but what happens when one engine goes? Still prefer the S-97's configuration.
Here sir u will get to know that it works even when one engine goes off!!
ua-cam.com/video/XSrwgq9FPrY/v-deo.html
it's just a bevel gearbox, no need to hide bro
Can the V-280, configure it's wing and engine's like the V-22, for transport?
They probably will not add wing stow. Lot of extra work and weight, same with the blade fold system. Marines need them, as will the Navy birds because they deploy on the boat regularly. Army does not.
I'm more impressed by some of the video quality
Holy crap, it finally went airborne!!!
