Review: Bubble Magus Curve 5 Protein Skimmer

This is a cursory review of the Bubble Magus Curve 5 Protein Skimmer. I purchased the product with my own funds, so these are my unbiased opinions. The skimmer has been running for about 5 months.

MAX and MIN is with regards to the amount of water flowing through the skimmer, not the water level inside the skimmer. The more the water flows through the skimmer, the lower the water level and the more dry it'll skim. I prefer dry skim for overall stability. It's a real good skimmer. If you coupled this skimmer with carbon dosing, you can really bring the nitrates very low which I am doing now making me wonder, why buy a top end skimmer if this one + carbon dosing could do such a good job

Right. I routinely have looked at sales of higher end skimmers and then thought “my money is better spent on livestock, the cost effective one I’ve got is working just fine”. I’ve recommended it to several new reefers.
