Seymour Duncan Antiquity Humbuckers

- Each Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbucker is built in our Custom Shop and aged both cosmetically and magnetically to simulate the wear and tear that a pickup goes through after decades of playing. The mold we use for our butyrate bobbins was created by the same factory that built the original PAF mold for Gibson. Other key features include our specially manufactured 42AWG plain enamel mag-wire, nickel silver cover, 2.5-inch alnico 2 bar magnet, custom machined metal spacer & maple spacer, single conductor push-back braided lead wire, and nickel silver bottom plate with long mounting legs.
Staying true to the original Gibson PAF, these humbuckers are not wax potted which takes you right to the edge of harmonic breakup. For that unmistakable vintage mojo, we wind every Antiquity humbucker on Seymour’s original Leesona winding machine from the early Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, MI. Every bottom plate & bar magnet is signed by Seymour to guarantee that you are getting an original Seymour Duncan Antiquity.

Came to hear the buckers. Stayed to hear the kick ass playing.
video guitar player: Geoff Waldron: facebook.com/gfwaldron
one of the most American comments ever! 😆Came to hear the buckers boys!
Yea no doubt, awesome guitar work. And those pups sound amazing
best demo i have ever seen. diverse playing styles, techniques, amps, gain stages. no bullshit blues shred. very refreshing and i mean come on...the production quality is just stupid good. marketing gets a bonus for this one.
Totally agree! These videos are among the best - if not the best - out there. They are inspirational, for sure, and I've probably sought out SD pickups I wouldn't have really thought about buying before. Good stuff!
I put these pickups in my 1990 Heritage H157. What a magical transformation! It's the greatest sounding LP ever. This guitar has the tone of Paul Kossoff, Mick Jones (Foreigner), Martin Barre, Mick Ronson, Clapton in the Blues Breakers. It's too good to be true.
I’m wanting to put them in a strat, but don’t know how it would sound
Best pickup demo video EVER!
these are the best sounding hum buckers ive ever heard
Y'all make great pickups...but I have to say, you guys ain't bad at video production either. That is one slick video.
Thank you for noticing!!
When you’re involved in music related stuff, it’s easier to get quality studio help. If you’re a good gardener, you may have to put more effort
This was an absolute pleasure to experience while stoned. Enormous props to the player.
I bought antiquity humbackers two years ago and still enjoy listening this guy playing. Very inspiring.
Nice! Love that Hamer Monaco.
Love the playing on this video. Really showcases what the antiquity pickups are capable of.
Wow, those seem to be REALLY dynamically sensitive pickups. The fact that the dude providing the input is a monster player and composes these gems to illustrate the points makes this sort of demo my favorite format. Let the music do the talking!

this video is killer! great job, not only as a product demo but as a production, top notch
Monster demo from a monster player demoing really good pickups.
guitar player: Geoff Waldron: facebook.com/gfwaldron
Sunshine of your love had a sweet tone with those pickups
I love the tone on the neck pick up!
Geoff Waldron is back! Sounds great.

Top notch video. It really explains the pickup to me. Couldn't be made better. I'd like to have more of these for many products. Many thanks!
I recently put these pickups in my 93 Les Paul Classic and I can't believe the improvement. There is such a clarity in the sound. Even with overdrive/distortion/fuzz I can hear every string. I am 100% happy. Seymour knocked it out of the park with these.
One of the nicest guitar design ever in my opinion. Good playing and sound as well.
Wow, serious tone going on there. Awesome dynamics & incredible articulation from those pups. 2 thumbs up!
Ive a pair of these on my Epiphone LP, they are unbelievable! What a difference, love um!
1.) Nazghul / Senient
2.) JB / Full Shred
3.) Alnico II Pro Slash Variant Set
4.) Hot for Tele set
5.) SSL-6 / APS-2 / APS-2
6.) Seth Lovers set
These I love and have used at varying times. Thank you, Mr. Duncan.
Great pickups! Great demo. Really gives you the full picture on this set.
Great video! Awesome way to hear the pickups. A lot of pickup demos are too short.
THIS is a good SD demo- all should follow same format and diversity.
wow. sounds awesome. great playing!
Just bought a set today. Wow they're amazing. Thanks Seymour!
I love that this demo doesn't try to do too much. It's about showing what the pickup can do, not just what the player can do.
Had these in the normal configuration for 20 yrs and 4 weeks ago discovered my 'Holy Grail' tone. Changed positions: Put High Wind in neck slot and 7.5k Low Wind in Bridge. Instant Jimmy Page Tone.. I have further refined it by putting a Short A5 Mag in the 7.5k low wind bridge. Sounds like Jimmy Page at Madison Square Garden 1973.
Love these pickups. Have them in both of my Les Paul's. Great demo!!
Great video, covers a lot of tonal ground and video is well produced.
Wow. Awesome tones. Great demo!
These PUPS rock. The natural breakups are as good as any '50s I've heard.
Awesome presentation. Sounds like an awesome pickup.
I briefly had a Seymour Duncan Antiquity neck humbucker in a Gibson SG Standard. While it wasn't a bad pickup I found the Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro had a rounder sound that I preferred. The Alnico Pro II is now my favorite pickup.
@ghost mall I found the Antiquity neck humbucker rather thin and low output. It wasn't bad, just not what I was going for. But I didn't think it was muddy at all, actually rather clear.
Beautiful video presentation, perfectly produced. And you couldn't have picked a better player to demo these PUPs, guy really know how to make them sing.
After watching and listening to this, I'm not so sure my playing is worthy of these pickups. Holy cow those are some amazing chops right there.
I was listening to the bass tone too 😮sounds awesome
just installed these in a Gibson Les Paul Tribute...the pickups have amazing tone...they inspire my playing, if that's a thing...what I hear from my own playing using these makes me not want to put the guitar down...playing parts I've been playing for years - just makes me sound better ...I'm all in with these...excellent, with tone, clarity, and punch I've never had or heard when I play...if you're on the fence about playing with these in your guitar...GO FOR IT...you will never regret it...wow.
makes you want to play and inspires you? The ultimate compliment
I have a set of these...just bought a new Les Paul...definitely have to install these after hearing/seeing this...can't wait. I've loved the SD 59's in my LP Studio as well, but these will sound very, very sweet.Thank you Seymour
These pickups are no joke. Best pickups I’ve ever played.
*Nice demo video Seymour it just sold me on these pickups.*
Holy Guacamole! Some excellent stuff, thanks so much for sharing. Love them 'buckers. I had a pair of P-90 Antiquities in a guitar, never should have sold it. This demo kills!
These are some amazing "gotta have" pickups!
Awesome sound, awesome playing
Saw this video a couple of years ago and put these in a PRS S2 Singlecut that instantly became my go-to guitar. Absolutely wonderful tone.
Are you still enjoying these pick ups? I have an S2 Satin and want to change electronics and pick ups.
@@michaelortiz97 still have them and enjoying them. They are phenomenal.
Clear note articulation👏🏻 gets my vote!
awesome thanks! because right now I have EGMs in my dean they sound amazing but I am lookin for different tones and this is exactly what I was looking for
That All Right Now was amazing!
Beautiful tone!
Just a genius job !!! hope you are feeling better my friend .
I am thinking of changing the bridge pickup of my 81 Les Paul Custom and I Really Love the Sound this one has .
Glad i finally checked out this demo.. and mini concert 🤙🏽
This demo just sold me .
Hamer produces some sweet axes! [I used to have an Echotone in Aztec Gold with "Duncan Designed" pups...needed the money, so I sold it and still feel sore that I was forced to sell one of the best semi-hollows on the market...I was planning to replace the DD's with real SD's but the tone was still so juicy I decided to stay with what came with it).
Sadly, they are not being produced right now.
Just completely rewired my Les Paul Classic to 50 wiring and put these in to replace the stock 61 pickups. I’m loving them.
SInce then, I've added Antiquity Texas Hots to my Strat, and Antiquity IIs to my Firebird. What an improvement.
Geez, I forgot all about the pickups! Great vid!
These pickups are that good. I put them in my 2002 LP Standard and I wish I had done it years ago! I'm going to put a set in my ES-335, so you know they are that good if I'm going to re-wire a 335 again !
Wait. That line from Sunshine of your Love, that's with the antiquities pickups? Holy star.
I love this video! Sounds awesome
was having a real bad time trying to decide which duncans to buy... 0:40 sold! that was fast. Amazing playing as well, really loving his style
The best Humbucker pickup ever.
Wow! That is one smoking jam! !
every time I think I've settled on "this is the SD pick up for me. I see something in one of these videos and I think...uhm maybe THIS one is the right one!@! They are all really versatile honestly.
great work guys and awesome demos as everyone has said!!
Thank you very much Richard!
Nice job guys
Bless us with that backing track!!
Very Holdsworth!!! Love it
Love antiquities!!!
That part at 1:58 through to 2:15 is awesome. Definitely stealing some of that.
i'm in love !
Just ordered a set of these, they’ll be going into a D’angelico premier Atlantic which is on its way to me too!
Nice!
Very cool guitar. I have the exact same one; but, I have it loaded with a WolfTone set. Also have a 2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard that I’m considering replacing the stock pickups with. Antiquities are high on the list, along with Arcane and Lollar.
Very fine....
I just bought a used Epiphone Les Paul that had these installed along with an Emerson custom wiring kit...They do sound really good. I'm not really into the whole "vintage" vibe but i think i'll keep them. Awesome playing btw! Also ALL of my other guitars have Seymour Duncan pickups so i am a fan ;)
I'm looking to get a semi-hollow electric that I want to kit out for more classic rock and blues style play. These are definitely looking like what I'll swap to when the time comes
Highly recommend, I put these on my les paul and honestly it sounds way better
Geoff my friend, had to come back and revisit this incredible playing again love your playing so much. How are you doing ? hows your health ?
Had my neck surgery everything went pretty good . Let me know how everything is Thanks so much inspiration in spades here Geoff !!!!!!!
Nice Hamer!
I have these in an Epiphone LP and everytime I pick it up I ask myself, why? Why keep chasing tone, its all right here. Perfect
Dude can play damn
Perfect demo. SD Seth Lover pickups are my favorites... worth every Benjamin when it comes to tone. Did anyone else notice the reverse switching on that Hamer -- neck pickup or rhythm in the down position?
I noticed. First I thought too much treble on the neck pickup. F'd up. The bridge would be nuts. Then I realized it was reversed; and I thought, oooh, faster to go to lead from the neck! Nice idea! But, it's still not as fast as mine! Heheheh...
Freaked me out!
both because I would love a job there it would be awesome
That guy could play a 60 dollar squire and make it sound fabulous
Great playing
sick >.
I really like these because of the professional looking black covers/holders/outline/whatever you would call it. Is there anyway to order just that part? It is included with these pickups, right?
Having them installed on my Heritage H150 now...can't wait to hear this bad boy scream!!
Let us know how you like them!!
Just got my Heritage H150 back with the Antiquities! Wow. I replaced my SD 59's (which I still like a lot), and this guitar just plays like butter. The leads are smooth as silk from the neck or the bridge (in keeping with my Dumble in box obsessions). She plays real nice clean as well...WELL DONE MJ!
So happy you love them!
i love Hamer ( got three) i approve of your guitar...damn straight!
Super Demo! What amp are you using?
Wound on the same Leesona machine as the majority of the '59-'60 PAFs its not so much a reissue as a continuation of Gibson's original manufacturing of pickups for the Les Paul model. Its what makes them special. Many have jumped on the bandwagon, and thats cool but credit where its due, Seymours been doing it for 30 years..
I was sold on getting the pearly gates. After this, I don't know which I prefer!
I consider the Pearly Gates to have a sharper attack with an upper midrange bump compared to the sort of flat EQ curve of the Antiquities. The Antiquities don't quite have the sharp attach of the Pearly Gates but they have a real good "bloom" to them as well as some extra chime. The Pearly Gates are great for cutting through dense mixes and the Antiquities really open up where the guitar has a little more room to breathe. Hope this helps!
zmb1982 Thanks for explaining. That helps a lot actually. Based on what you said, I would say that the pearly gates are where I am going to go. I will have to treat myself to an antiquity though some time in the future. Thanks for your help!
Came for the Demo, stayed for the entertainment.
Does this guitar play have any albums out, I would buy them straight away.
Hi
When putting new pups in an old guitar (LP 1997 Classic) would you recommend changing/updating the pots and caps as well?
Thanks
really great pickups, but let’s face it, the level of playing is far beyond of an average player… awesome!
Is there any way to get these without them looking old and used?
I have those on one of pauls amazing low pups so dinamic to attack. Plus u realy show cased those babys with absalute feel & exacution!! Well done very well done in fact! 💯
I have the seth lovers in my Axl guitar
I must say I have these, and tried tons of stuff. These are top PU’s at any price range! Takes the fart right out of your guitar and lets in breathe! I can’t say this for any other pickups. Made by anyone! Seriously don’t mislead yourself by adjectives like sweet you ma get the wrong idea! These can kick ass. First get a proper piece of wood and an amp. That wood is where the problem starts.
That tone for sunshine of your love was perfect! Does anyone know how it would sound in my Chapman CAP 10 America? It's got 22 frets, 25.5" scale length, It's body is made from Mahogany and the neck and fingerboard are both maple. I'm looking versatility I want to be able to get a nice vintage tone for my bluesy playing but I also want to get a nice high gain lead tone as well. Are these the right pickups for me?
Higher gain sounds (depending on how high the gain is) can sometimes be a problem with unpotted pickups depending on the volume and where you stand in relationship to your amp. In your guitar, you can get a slightly brighter sound due to the scale length and maple neck/fingerboard. You can also check out the Saturday Night Special set as well as the Alnico II Pro set if you don't want to worry about high gain microphonics from the pickup.
Yeah, dead on, but he's no Clapton on the lead. Good player though. Good Vintage sound on All Right Now also. I also find the overall recorded volume to be too low. The of power the leads is lost.
