I was there when this was recorded, every so often one of the crew would come on to the stage and say he had a message from the 'man in the van' who was the editor and we had to record a whole hymns over again sometimes 3 times. good old Don West conducting.
Goodness me, I was there too! I remember, sometimes we had to sing a hyme two or even three times over before the producer would accept it!! I don’t think the public realised how much effort we had to put in to ‘get it right!’ 😂
I remember being at the recording for this. one of the producers kept on appearing on the stage after we had sung a hymn only for him to announce he had a 'message from the man in the van' (the editor) and we'd have to record an entire hymn again sometimes up to 3 times. Good old Don West conducting.
Peaceful and calming like the Spirit of God who leads us into serenity, not into the hyper charismatic worship of the modern evangelicals. I am Orthodox, and this is the kind of worship I can respect and accept that is outside my Church.
Too true! You'll be pleased to hear that they do in my Baptist church (I'm the organist!) You'd be amazd how many visiting preachers comment on how wonderful it is to sing rousing hymns to organ, because as you say, in so many churches now that isn't done any more. They just don't know what they're missing do they.
Great Video. What a wonderful hymn, brings back happy memories of youth in The Boys' Brigade.

Blaenwern is one of the finest hymn tunes ever written like Cwm Rhondda.
praise God!!
Love those trumpets. Especially evident after ~1:50. Before that they are building slowly, then begin to soar over it all.
cool!!!
Good Video
I agree
