I work in IT support. We use HP machines and I setup images with MDT. One thing i really like about HP machines is the HP assistant. It lets me deploy the same image to many HP products without having to have a custom image for each model. Generally I setup a VM to install windows and setup all our programs the way I like. I then capture that images and prepare it for deployment. If I have a lot of machines of the same model all at once I will install all the drives and capture an image just to make it go by a bit faster. But hp doesn't have to much blot ware at least on their business products.

Just upgraded from Win 8.1 to 10. I was and still am using Classic Shell Menu, it is the reason I took so long to upgrade. Revo Uninstaller, that's new to me and I used it to get rid of the bloatware. God Mode, love it.

Small systems like this make good HTPC/emulator boxes.
There are better options ... like the Raspberry Pi (size of a cigarrette box) which can play all the way to psp and even some ps2 . These computers cant barely play ps1 . I own one ive tried all of this
The first thing I'd do after unpacking it: 1 not plug it in 2. remove the hard drive 3.put the drive away in case I want to get rid of it, its still factory new. 4 put a new hdd in it 5. install Linux on it 6 enjoy my new computer..

Anyone tried a gtx 1650 on these hp slims? Feels like even with the 180W gold psu, it would still work.
For me its more once every 11 months (sometimes windows doesn’t bork for 17-18 months)
So at that point i upgrade my storage will be getting 2x 2TB 3.0 NVMe drives from sabrent to replace my 1TB and 512GB Sabrent drives
The ones that get replaced will replace my 64GB and 128GB USB’s which as archive sticks amazing read and LITERALLY the craziest write
The sticks will become backups and my old backups will become storage throw aways that i submit my uni work on (dont normally get um back the marker either steals or throws them away)

i have a slim pc for Plex (video streaming server) and hooked up to the 3d printer, as well as streaming low-end games to my phone via steam remote with an xbox controller
i'd also like to point out that you can point steam to a non-steam game such as notebook (windows) or nautilus (ubuntu/linux) to give remote access with a mouse pointer. very very low latency and high quality

WinRAR has better compression in most cases compared to 7-zip and can even exclude duplicate files when making archives.
Solid archives and recovery record data options are great to have!
7-Zip cannot use .RAR files anyways, always get WinRAR for one utility that does it all!
The file properties panel you get with WinRAR is very nice to see and useful.

Hello, is it possible to install graphic cards into these slim PCs? I have one which I would like to use.
A couple of comments:
1. This PC could have been a great HTPC if there was an option to get it with a bluray drive.
2. Using a Microsoft Account to log into Windows 10 will give that account a digital license to Windows 10. This means that if you swap any (or all) parts of the PC, as long as you log in with that same account, the license for Windows 10 will be there. No more calling support to activate after a motherboard swap.
3. Revo Uninstaller is great, because often a program will have some settings files left over after an uninstall, and if you're reinstalling trying to fix a problem, having those leftover is an issue.
4. I recommend moving all the default folders (Videos, Music, Documents, Downloads, Pictures) to a separate drive. There's plenty of programs that will automatically install, save, or download stuff into those folders with no option for you to change it.
5. I love Ninite, I use it whenever I'm setting up a new computer. It also works as a manual forced update for all of the programs you used for it.
6. I would always install either ShadowPlay or ReLive as an easy way to capture clips and whatnot.

@@justinpark2417 It does work, speaking from personal experience. When I upgraded from 7 to 10, when I logged in with a Microsoft account it converted my old product key to a digital license.

UPDATE: I was testing out various Linux Distros and Ubuntu 21.10 will work on this machine. if you perfer Linux over Windows, this machine will support it... it has to be the newest release though and ONLY the 64 bit version of any distro. if you want to change OS's you might have to press F9 to get the software to boot.

I was just given the HP Slim F1013W and really like it. its a nice SFF computer and was able to swap out the 1TB hard drive for 2 2.5" 1TB drives. this is my first DDR4 based system and have to do a memory upgrade to get it to work faster... it just came with 4GB. interesting HP build... customized motherboard.... they just should have done a ITX build, it would have worked better...

I know there is an x16 slot in it, so I am wondering if it would accept something like a low-profile video card. I have a low-profile GT 1030 that I want to put in there.
