Ron Simmons has always been one of my favorite wrestlers. The man has brains and brawn, and he knows how to carry himself. He’s a good ol boy from one of the best eras of professional wrestling.
Even before the Attitude Era, he was amazing in WCW.

Ron Simmons was always a guy that got respected in the profession. Even though he wasn't a big name to the fans all the other wrestlers knew he was a class act.

Almost at a 100% rate, the Undertaker is the most respected man in the history of professional wrestling...just shows the type of man he is...And Ron Simmons is spoke well by most everyone as well...He was a guy not to be messed with, but respected all the same.

Every time Stone Cold brings up Ron Simmons and Fic Flair also, they always bring up about how he was a beast in College Football 2 time All American and played in the Back to Back Orange Bowls the latter Bowl Game FSU was ranked #2 and had a close game defeat by 1 point against the Barry Switzer led Oklahoma Sooners. 18-17 was the final score. I would say the Defense did their job in that game holding a powerhouse offense to 18 points ( OK Sooners also had a great defense) , the FSU offense only scored 17 but regardless that one is a great game.
This guy was one of my all-time favorites and now I know why.

Simmons was the man, he reminded me of Andre in the sense that no body could beat him unless he let them.
Andre was afraid of Harley Race and Haku. I'd argue that Ron was tougher to an extent than Andre.
Respect to a grown ass man Ron Simmons, gets his point across without dumping on other wrestlers. It's amazing to this day how many people still think Triple H married Stephanie to inherit a kingdom and didn't have to work hard to get over like everyone else.

I met Ron twice at the same gas station in Marietta, Ga (Powder Springs Rd and EW Conn/Barrett Pkwy) and he was so "DAMN" cool. I called him "Sir" and "Mr" and he was like "Naw Man.....just Ron!" I had him say "DAMN!" and everyone in the store fell out. Ron is a straight up Dude. Nothing but Respect!

I was at a Days of the Dead Con back around 2015 or so, where there was quite a few wrestlers, the most well known being Roddy Piper before he died. As I’m walkin around I see Ron sittin at the table and he just looks at me and says, “What’s up brother?”. I started talking to him, and man this guy was awesome. It’s like I was just talking to someone I’ve known for years. That’s just how he was. I appreciated his courtesy so I gladly bought one of his signed pictures and took a photo with him. And boy, when he stood up, he was a big dude. We did a fist pump and his hand was like twice the size as mine. This guy is a class act, so it doesn’t surprise me that he has so much respect for Taker.

I always liked Ron Simmons back in the day and through his runs, but I’ve got such a greater appreciation for the man from interviews of others wrestlers talking about him. If I knew then what I knew now, he’d been one of my top wrestlers of all time. Great Man! Great Respect!

Saw Ron in Riverdale, GA out in public. At the time I think he lived in Fayetteville. He was very approachable, maybe because he recognized my brother and the other person we were with. We had a good talk. He dropped words of wisdom. Only thing that stuck out to me was he wasn't as tall as I thought he would be. I was just reaching 6ft in height. He looked about 6'2" or 6'3". But he was wide bodied and side profile thick. From his looks, body fat was nonexistent. And his voice was commanding and rich. Not the kind of voice you want to interrupt.

My first experience of Ron Simmons was in APA, and he always was cool. Seeing him dressed as a centurion was abhorrent to me. Wwf in 1994-7 was straight trash but they let farooq shine in 98-2001.
