Yes, "I won,t hold you back" - very epic. I don't know who used the first line of this song as the main part of another song called "Another chance" anymore.
This is probably my favorite song by Toto. I am a huge fan of Brad Dourif (the stranger in the video), so this was always a special video for me, as well. If you're not familiar with Mr. Dourif's work, you've already forgotten the "LOTR: THE TWO TOWERS". He was also in "ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST", "DEADWOOD", and many more, including J's favorite, "CHUCKY". Great reaction for a great song!
Saw them at The Sundome in Tampa Florida on this tour. I remember the beautiful white minimalist stark stage and the gorgeous colored lights, Fergie Frederiksen's backflips and of course, the incomparable Jeff Porcaro on drums, RIP.
Toto IV album has many great songs that are rarely played on the radio. Isolation is another good album, my fav 2 songs on it are Carmen & Isolation. Toto consisted of studio musicians who were hired to play with various music groups, then they decided to form their own band. Very talented musically.
Guys ! , please do next from them, these other's smash hits : ''Endless', ''Angel don't cry'' , ''i'll Supply the love'' , ''“I won’t hold you back” ''99'' & ''English eyes''
I remember watching the music video for "Stranger in Town" on both MTV and VH1. I remember the video having a good amount of rotation on both channels.
You still need to react to "99" which is my favorite of theirs. But please do the studio version, not the music video which cuts out a whole minute and 13 seconds of the song. Thanks.
@@jethro1963I always say that they should never react to a live version as a first reaction. They should hear it the way we first heard it on the radio so they will have the same experience that we did. The only exception would be if the live version was a hit, such as Peter Frampton, etc.
Fun Facts: The "Stranger" in the video was played by actor Brad Dourif who is best known for providing the voice of Killer Doll Chucky in the Child's Play films as well as playing Sheriff Brackett in Rob Zombie's Halloween films. Also Ironic is that this video came out in 1984 the same year the original Dune film came out which not only featured Dourif in the film but also Toto doing the music for the film.
I love, love, love this one! The great Brad Dourif, “Chucky” himself, as the “Stranger”. Very cool video! He made it awesome! A subscriber called Fosymraz just kindly reminded me that he was also Grima Wormtongue in Lord of the Rings!
As for Amber's question @5:00, in the opening scene of the video, it shows a police crime scene where the outline of the deceased person on the floor becomes animated and starts to relate what happened to him to the police. It was then the "dark stranger" was implicated in the killing of the person and this guy decided to go on the run overseas to London in the UK. Unfortunately for the perp, pictures of him were transmitted to the local British newspapers and the lady who was in the pastry shop spotted the perp after she saw his picture in the "London morning newspaper". Then a nearby London PC spotted him, the perp ran, and gave chase to the perp. The perp got away and is the story thus far.
And peeps unto down the Toto rabbithole..I ❤ IT. I have been a fan since 1983 and I tell you there are a BUNCH of surprises. And when you can dive into the solostuff of Steve Lukather,it is fabulous❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love the vibe of this song. It is based on the film Whistle Down The Wind, about an escaped convict who encounters a group of children who mistake him for Jesus. If you want it even more dangerous: AC/DC with “Night Prowler”.
Brad Dourif made his film debut at the age of 17 in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" earning an Academy Award nomination. He also played a violent sheriff's deputy in "Mississippi Burning". Both films are worthy of a reaction.
Great reaction - another good one to react to, would be "Holyanna" from the same album as "Stranger In Town" and it also has an interesting music video.
Stranger in Town was released from Toto’s 1984 album Isolation. The music video and lyrics to the song are based on the film Whistle Down The Wind, about an escaped convict who runs into a group of children that mistake him for Jesus. Toto would also work on the movie Dune that same year which featured the singer Sting.

It's been quite a while since I made this suggestion, but I'll try it again. I have been with this channel since before Amber took part, so pretty much from the beginning. I can't afford to pay you guys on your Patreon platform, my finances are desperately tight. Over the last couple of years I have tried to get you folks to react to John Hiatt singing Have A Little Faith In Me. There is a wonderful live performance video that I think you would really enjoy. You have already listened to a cover of a John Hiatt song when you reacted to Eric Clapton and B.B. King do Riding With The King. I've seen people suggest that you react to Bonnie Raitt's cover of John Hiatt's Thing Called Love. He's a great songwriter, and singer and I really wish you would react to him singing this beautiful song.

No way, it's Charles Lee Ray and Grima Wormtongue! So cool seeing the voice of Chucky escaping the cops. How ironic. Never heard this one. Pretty cool. I suggest Eric Carmen--I Wanna Hear It From Your Lips (1984).
Such a talented band in so many facets. In 1986, they paired up with Paula Abdul for the video release of their song, "Till the End." Definitely worth checking out. ABSOLUTE FIRE!! 💯🎸🔥🔥🤘
