I was impressed with your straight cuts without using a physical straight-edge !! Thanks for sharing. My wife (Jackie MacDonald) is a full-time artist and she's been working with glass for a long time. We make wall hangings with fused dichroic glass mounted on a sheet of clear glass. We get the edges of the sheets polished by the supplier, but I've started to drill the mounting holes through the glass myself. Maybe we could make further savings by trying your polishing method. Best wishes from New Zealand.
I work at a glass shop and make the window units and some of the bigger units for store fronts when there made out of lami...I can say that man pushed hard as hell to make them cuts🤣🤣🤣 other then that pretty good video but if u have the glass most glass shops will run it through there polishing machine for 20$ or so u just have to know how much to add to your cut(we add 3/16) overall and it comes out on point
Working in a glass shop too always makes me laugh/cry when i see someone 2, or grab a fistful of the cutter. 1 hand and hardly any pressure, perfect cuts. Regardless this was cool
Sir just for a request.. 😊🙏 can u show us how to polish smooth and clear the edges of a mirror without white spots on the sides 🙏 i hope u will read my msge.. thank you 🙏
This is really hazardous :/ inhaling glass dust, and having it in your space like this leads to silicosis. Inhaling glass dust causes irreparable harm!
Not true. Silicosis is caused by crystalline silica with a size of around 10-30 microns. Glass is amorphous and does not contain crystals. Glass dust is a bad irritant, but short exposure like this will not give you silicosis. That being said, it’s still best to wear a P100 respirator.

That's what I call a pipe clamp. What grit sandpaper? Try speaking next time to convey important info like the grit of the sandpaper. Sorry bro, I had to ask, I know you're getting sick of the same question, but I had to do it. Cheers.
Well if you don't know how to use a sandpaper machine, glass cutter, and this type of home workshop equipment then I guess it's not diy. If diy is your concept of warm-gluing wooden sticks and cartoon then cool stick with it. Real DIY is having a basement/garden workshop and doing reall woodwork stuff
DIY is a type of activity in which people independently produce or restore any products for their own use. Everything that is not made in industrial production is DIY. And this is not only woodworking or glass cutting - this applies to any field of activity: music, literature, cinema, design, construction, the list is endless ....
Do it yourself is almost a philosophy, the main components of which are self-education, the acquisition or improvement of skills. So I don't need to talk about what DIY is.

how do you drill holes in glass? can you show your work? I'm very interested to see.
Nice to watch, the Gaelic tune towards the end was pleasant
"Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" (of Jesus)
Very interesting. Love the music. God bless!

Great idea. I mever thought of using orbital sander on glass. Thanks.
Thank you. Glad to.

nice to hear the opinion of a professional

What grits did you use on the sander
The gaelic grits
I just can't believe you cut so straight whithout a gide. Really amazing skills, how long you been doing this?
I have twenty years of experience

What glass scriber is that? Looks much better versus the ones you find today.
this is a glass cutter
@@FakeWorkerAmerica yes but who makes the one that you have? Because all the ones today seem cheap
inscription on the handle is made in Germany
Nice
You did it really well. Can I do it using the angle grinder?
try it then tell me
Dont. Take my word.

work is dangerous get a good mask
And my girl was wanting me to sand down the glass for her vanity. 😂 she wanted me dead for sure eh?😅
@DivinationNation Yes, it's labor-intensive work.🙂

But is only finely ground, for polishing use Cerium Oxide and a Felt Pad!
What grit sandpaper did you use? Does it matter?
grit 20-H, after 40
When an unfamiliar power tool is mentioned immediately after reading about a DIY project, it can cause confusion
What grit sand paper are you using?
20 and 40
That is not really polishing though... I was hoping to see a clever DIY method for high gloss polishing of the cut glass surface.
Can you try a Flat Polish style on the glass edge with a makita 9031
Yes
What grit papers were used?
20 h - 40 h
So was that like 200 grit regular sandpaper?
Try
what's the grade of the sand paper?
20-H & 40-H
What grit is that? 20? 40?
Nice seamed edge, not polished but still nice!
wtf how do you cut so straight?
20 years of experience
Good .If our glass has a another shake how to polish it
Exactly the same
Never said what grit paper to use
20 - 40 H
there is only one lesson I can get from this video: _if you buy any tool, it has to be makita_
Yeah... and your login say about you.) Joke.
grit?
Which tool is this
Sander
How do you control the heat buildup from the sanding? Too much heat and the glass may shatter.
in my practice, there were no such cases.
I think orbital sander doesnt create so much heat compared to maybe an angle grinder. I have seen both cases
Did I miss the grit of the sandpaper?
there are in the comments
belt sander
What do you mean?
I believe the belt sander is harder to controll on that small edge
Get rid of the boring music, and say something for a change
Like what grit you used, dry or wet, and show us the final result
bare hands 😨
ummmm changed the title to edge sanding not polishing

And not telling anything about the paper grit?? Not impressed.
20h
He did several times
I'll said.. this is not polishing.. is just sanding
