    I'm currently working on a game where you have to explore a mountain to rescue people that were lost on said mountain. While exploring the mountain you find audio tapes or journals (haven't decided yet) with each persons experiences on the mountain recorded on it. I love the menu system that you have setup and might take a little inspiration. Really nice video and I hope that your game gets the recognition it deserves! You definitely have the potential to be one of the top Game Dev creators on youtube, keep up the good work!

      Sadly I’m not that good at 3D modeling, so I got the props for free from the unreal market place and bridge. But the map/maps are made by hand and all props are hand placed in the map

      Ya gotta admit though the first game was proper shit (plus the developers doing scummy things in the 2nd game to prolong game time so people can’t refund)

    I had a similar pricing issue when having a game divided in chapters, after talking to consumers and doing some research I found out that your game might sell better if you just have it as a buy-once type deal, so if the base is 6 and a chapter is 3 bucks, and there are 3 chapters, it would be worth more to sell your game for 12 bucks

    • @sargentgullible2794
      @sargentgullible2794 Рік тому

      Not to mention, you can have a business model similar to Bendy and the Ink Machine, where you have to pay the game full priced with the chapter updates being free, but unlike Bendy, you had the foresight to put in the Early Access tag, so people going into this are aware changes are a thing.
      Oh, and why not throw in a in-game feedback button?

      @@sargentgullible2794 I will most likely do it like that, cause yeah, paid chapters feels kinda like a bit ehhhh to be honest

    If your going to make DLC, cost money then I would try to keep it cheap, especially if your going to have the DLC, contain more story and "Lore" I guess

    I think the idea is generic, the whole evil company putting you underground for experimenting, and the chapter idea is not to great. you have to remember that this is your first game, at least for viewers, you shouldn't be making the rest of the story DLC instead combining it into one complete game where no one has to wait for the next DLC of the story like its some early access junk. Good luck, but I'd change a few things in your story, the map that you showed can fit multiple stories so maybe think of something new, otherwise try not to go to the chapter route of releasing you game, your making people pay for the first chapter, then paying for the rest of the story over time like a subscription service. Good luck with the game, looks good so far.

    • @LenexTL
      @LenexTL  Рік тому +1

      The initial idea behind the chapters is to gather feedback on the maps released, and see what people liked and didn't like, so for the next one we can make sure to avoid those things/add them. If we release the game in its entirety, which also would take very long to do, we can't change any major things that might ruin the gameplay for some people or are just simply bad designed. But I am really appreciative of the feedback you gave and I noted some of the things you said down! :D

    I'm also working on an ue4 horror game! I started using it yesterday and want it to be more movement based then horror, like dashing, crouching, jumping, and also have a nicely designed ai, which I already set up with a tutorial (it xan only waln to random places tho) and have it be a thriller chase thing where you can hide, run, and juice and outmenuever them. I still have no idea what the map should be, the look, or even the killer model made yet, but I'm working on it. I haven't worked on it today since I'm releasing a new video that I worked on today tomorrow, but hopefully I can work on it more! YOUR project gave me some inspiration about some ideas for the movement system. TY!!!

      @LenexTL  Рік тому

      I mean you can start by remaking a game similar to something you enjoy playing, or just make anything random. But as long as what you make is something you’re passionate about that’s all that matters.

      I mainly taught myself by watching a bunch of UA-cam videos on Unreal engine and other softwares, as well as researching game design and other things. But yeah, 99% of the things I know are self taught! Plus the unreal market gives you a bunch of amazing free assets to use for your game.
