Also correction to the video. The front caliper holder bolts holding it in are 20. The rear is 18. I was confused watching this as I had recently gone to the junk yard to get some big brakes off a aero and the 18 was not fitting. And i also had a size 20 since i had done research on doing a brake job to do front and back. And the size 20 etorx worked.
Just ordered mine off esaab parts. My 08 aero xwd has like 65k so 40 thousand miles give or take. But the brakes are extremely soft.. I'm hoping once I change the rotors ans pads I have coming will work and solve the issue.
I have a set of those saab specific caliper holders too. They work well on other makes too. Very Customizable. XD On that broken breaker. HarborFreight has a 1/2" extendable HD ratchet that is ultra handy in the wheel wells, since it can collapse for tight spots and extends a bit longer than most breaker bars. Also handy for breaking lug bolts loose. Btw this is my newer channel for cars and stuff. Hope to see you at SOC23!! Bringing the Viggen. -Massivetrackhunter
I got a sabb for my first car got it for free can’t complain but damn new stuff is wrong with it like every week my horn stopped working randomly 😂 it is fun to drive tho
Caliper bracket bolts are 96 ft lbs + 45 degrees. I'm glad you didn't hit yourself in the face. The anti rattle clips come off by pushing down on the end of the clip.
I have this same brake set up on my 08 9-3 Aero. I can’t seem to find pads that have the clips on both sides. The retaining clip is held by the brake pad. If you have a link for those pads I would appreciate it.
I don't know how you put the clip back on so easy. I struggled for two hours even I have a new one come with the pad. And use too much force and ply bar to move the caliper to get it in.
I totally understand that feeling. I've done this so many times now I could probably do it in my sleep. Takes a bit, but after doing it a couple times it'll be like muscle memory.
I ordered the exact same pads and rotors... a year ago lol. Thanks for posting this video, atleast I get to see what they will actually look like!!

Perfect timing on this! About to upgrade the '06 to 314s!
They come with the 302’s right? I was just looking into upgrading myself
@@joelhanson8878 Some of the earlier '06s came with 302s, some came with 314s. Best to measure before you buy brakes
Thanks so much for you videos. Really helping us out.

We'll be there with the lime cv and the lb viggen project (that hasn't been announced sincd I've been radio silent for a while)
You crack me up!
I try. Maybe I should try stand up comedy next... 🤣🤣
The e18 torx you used for the caliper holder was a 3/8?
Saab Dr in the day but at night when crime is around he's the '' Tin Man''! 🤣👍

Any tips on how to diagnose a blown head gasket? I have a Saab 9-3 aero 2008.

Would the install on the brembo brakes for the Saab 9-3 be the same
Great!
Hey Saab dr. Is it possible to install those 314mm brake rotors and calipers on an 04 95?
I've seen it done before, however I personally have not done it.

Sure this isn’t E20 on the fronts?
Off the top of my head, it's E18 in front E20 in rear. I'd recommend having both handy, regardless.
@@SaabDr thanks for the reply. It actually ended up being E20 in front, E18 rear
