The way he sings the "Murderer" line is actually a tribute to Reggae artist Barrington Levy, who also had a song called Murderer.
It's not a tribute at all. There's a single identical word. That's about it... If we did that with every word, then it's a tribute to hundreds of artists. Thousands if we include all the more common words. In the live acoustic he does sing the opening 'murderer' more like the artist you mentioned but to describe the entire song as a tribute is a little insulting.
@@Codex7777 it's not insulting at all. Not sure why you would think that Ren honoring a singer he is a fan of is insulting. Who is being insulted? Barrington Levy because Ren honors him? Ren because he drops little references like this to his musical heroes? Tell me who you think is insulted because Ren sang the word that way? Because I don't think Ren was insulting anyone. He's a great artist, and he's honoring another great artist. Nothing about this song is insult.
P.S. Chalk outlines is a MUST! His voice is gorgeous, and Chinchilla is sublime 😊 xx

Do the acoustic version of Murderer. He sits on a big hill over looking LA, Cal. He decided to shoot the video while doing some business there. It sounds much different and he plays the guitar with another guy playing rhythm guitar. I love it.

YES, Do the acoustic version gals. Its even better even if you dont react ( Tova will be on it tonight haha ) So this was at Ren's old flat in Brighton. He put a bit of muscle on cos i was coming to the corner of his town :) Erm swallowing Toblerones is a recurring theme , can you do it ?

In terms of singing, for the past few years, with the exclusion of covers that he performed while busking, most of Ren's original work outside of The Big Push and duets with Chinchilla has focused on (melodic) rapping and hip hop. He usually sings the hook, and maybe a line or two in a verse or bridge.
Ren and Chinchilla wrote and performed two duets together - "How to Be Me" in 2019 and "Chalk Outlines" in 2021. I prefer the live one-take videos, with just a guitar and two vocalists singing their hearts out. In 2020, Ren released a cover of the Elvis song "Can't Help Falling in Love". On his latest album "Sick Boi", he sings in the track "Uninvited". It's the only pop song on the album. (The station was playing "Uninvited" in the background when "Sick Boi" was announced as the number one album in the UK.)
With The Big Push, Ren is the lead vocalist in the following original songs: "It's Alright", "Why My Woman?", "Oh My Woman!", "Dignity" (the chorus and outro; Romain does the verses), "Sweet Little Lady", "Xbox Marijuana", "Watch Out", "Precious", "Radio", "All My Heroes", "Mannequin", "When She Goes", and "No Reaction". Gorran is the lead vocalist in "Swan Song", "Icarus", "Slow Down", and "Heart Attack". Ren and Romain sing harmony on those tracks, except for "Heart Attack". For the band's produced covers, Ren is the lead vocalist (and guitarist) in "English Man in New York" and "Bongo Bong" (Romain also sings and raps a verse in French). Ren has a verse in "What Kind of Woman Is This", "Praise You", and "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'", in which the guys share the lead. Gorran sings lead in their cover of "Heroes".
Here are some suggestions for Ren singing in the early years.
At 19, @nelliemai89 has a video of him at voice camp performing his song "Power of Unity". At 21, his channel has a video of him in London performing "Freckled Angels". At 22, @trickthefox has videos of him performing covers of "Grenade / Earthquake" and "Neon". At 23, @SamuelPerryFalvey has a video of him at voice camp performing "Ain't No Sunshine" mixed with some humor and comments on mental health. At 24, @AyeshaJonesFilms has a video of him at home in Brighton performing his song "Patience".
Ren's album "Love Music" (2015) has 20 of his older songs from 2006-2012, when he was 16-22. Some of the songs in which he sings are "Lost Boy" (w/ Charlie Fowler), "Wild Place", "Knock Me Down" (w/ Tom Law), "Run Away" (acoustic version), "New York City", "If I Leave Tonight", "Falling" (w/ Tom Law), "Okay in the Morning" (w/ Tom Law), and "Power of Unity". I also like "Breakdown" (w/ Tom Law), but Ren mostly raps in that one except for the outro (Tom Law sings the hook). The "Love Music" album can be streamed from his rengill channel on Bandcamp. Someone also mirrored the songs unofficially on UA-cam.
Ren's album "Freckled Angels" (2016) was mostly recorded in 2011-2012 at The Sanctuary studio in London, when he was 21-22. But 6 out of the 16 tracks were recorded in 2012-2015 at home, after his illness forced him to put his music career on hold. The three most popular songs on this album in which he sings are "It's Alright", "Fire", and the title track "Freckled Angels". I also like "Run Away" (but prefer the @trickthefox version) and "Crutch" (the video is popular). I can take or leave "Pixie", "Bullet", and "Satellite Girl".
He has some 'busking' videos where he is performing with his band The Big Push on the streets of Brighton Uk, only 30 miles from where I grew up, you should check out 'I Shot The Sheriff', if you like Regge you will love those videos, his band is full of real talent and they just play to the public as they are out shopping and going about their day. Viktus is the man behind the mask! Do Down On The Beat to hear him rap with Ren . He WAS there when the album got number 1 ❤. He is featured in many other videos as well without the mask.
As I understand it in this video it isn't Viktus in the pig mask, but the bloke who owned the car because he wouldn't let anyone else drive his car.

I must admit I struggled with your first few Ren reactions but I will always stick with new reactors for a short while, this format is loads better ladies. The pig mask 😂 appears on a few vids, the man behind the mask is Viktus who also raps on RENs track Down on the beat which is like all his stuff awesome. There is an acoustic version of murderer which you have to check out. Singing songs from Ren check out Humble, Chalk Outlines live version, anything by the big push originals or covers.
