I like it that your videos aren't scripted. This one meant a lot to me personally. It was like you were talking to me directly, you know my back story. I know I'm not spending as much time on my CNC work like I need to too be successful. I'm trying to help my son with his retail business. I have sold some projects through his store and have had some commissioned projects as well. I need to get my Esty store going soon. My problem, real or imagined, is I keep letting life get in my way. Videos that you make like this one seems to get my sprits back up. Thank you my friend. Harold Mayberry
BHWoodcrafters, I really appreciate your kind words, Harold. It's great to hear that my videos resonate with you and help lift your spirits. Finding a balance between personal commitments and pursuing your passion can be challenging, but remember to make time for what brings you joy. Good luck with your Etsy store and your woodworking projects!
"Business Mentoring Program" for CNC'rs ? That sounds pretty exciting, Garret ! And Yes, you're quite right - everything is about Identity, or what I call it "Everything's in the Upper Floor" (meaning - in my Head). We all need a general change of perspective - from "struggling and chasing" to a perspective of abundance ! Thank you so much for this epiphany !
alexandervasilev6403, I'm glad you found the idea of a business mentoring program exciting! It's true that shifting your perspective can make a big difference. Wishing you success with your CNC projects!
Somehow I missed this video when you put it out. Just ordered some sanding brushes. I can use all the help I can get sanding. Like you were saying Garret, woodworkers tend to be perfectionists and are our own worst critics. My wife told me a long time ago to quit pointing out imperfections to clients, they would probably never notice 99% of the stuff we fret over. I like the 5/5 approach - can you see it from 5 feet away and will you notice it 5 years from now....Good business advice from the video, too.
WoodMan61, I'm glad you found the video and are diving into using sanding brushes! Your wife’s advice is spot on; we often focus too much on the little details that others might overlook. The 5/5 approach is a great way to keep perspective while working on projects. Happy woodworking!
Feathers! Yes! Abundance! Yes! I'll be on Coast to Coast AM July 7th with George Noory and will be discussing this! Miracles. What are they? You 'Get It!' my friend
DannyQuinn-qq3sn, Having a mentor can definitely make a difference in woodworking and help you improve your skills faster. It's always beneficial to learn from someone with more experience. Good luck with your woodworking journey!
natureblessed8408, Thanks for watching! Definitely, practice makes perfect in woodworking. And remember to enjoy the process and not just focus on the end result. Keep up the good work!
LYTOMIZE_Woodshop, Thanks for placing an order with us! We'll do our best to get your item shipped out quickly so you can have it for the upcoming holiday season. We appreciate your support!
tamarathompson8001, Congratulations on your new Longmill MK2! Dust collection is a great choice for your next purchase to keep your workspace clean and your lungs protected. Make sure to get a system that fits the size and power of your CNC machine for optimal performance. Happy woodworking!
When I grew up my father owned a successful business. When I saw the hours he put in I knew I didn’t want anything to do with it. I CNC for pleasure. I have friends and family request projects. I gladly make them (not all CNC) but never charge $. I fear money would take the fun out of woodworking. I want it to be my relaxation not my job. If you are using your hobby to make money please don’t let it become work. Bless you all.
DougWichman, It's wonderful that you have found a way to enjoy woodworking without turning it into a job. Keeping it as a hobby can definitely help maintain the joy and relaxation it brings you. Your approach is truly admirable. Keep creating and enjoying the process!

chawesspe3, The earnings from a CNC router can vary greatly depending on factors like the type of projects, the market demand, and how much time is dedicated to the work. Many woodworkers can make anywhere from a few thousand to several tens of thousands a year based on their skills and business model. It really depends on how you utilize your CNC router and the niche you choose to focus on! Happy CNCing brother!
louisfbrooks, That's great to hear that you're interested in expanding your knowledge in CNC woodworking! I'm sure you'll find the mentoring sessions very helpful in growing your business.
