One of the uses we have found for tools like this is 1:1 diagrams. Very handy if you have need for a large format plotter/printer for installation instructions but don't have access to those machines. Throw some poster board on the machine, create a 'tape to wall' mount/drill/level template for a one off.

To OP - I’m assuming that you own/have access to the tools required to make your own version of a pen holder. Keep track of the T & M for your version of the pen holder and let’s compare your costs to the sell price of $70.
