    you don't really notice the pure talent of steele and drew ( and more pilots) until you have just started flying quads FPV

    • @jdfishing3873
      @jdfishing3873 5 років тому +7

      Reuben Rasmussen Totally agree- I literally just got my first fpv and it’s WAY harder than people think. Requires a crazy amount of skill to pull the tricks they do

    • @rizen3467
      @rizen3467 4 роки тому +1

      True, its indescribable how hard it is to fly exactly where you want to and through gaps and stuff in acro / air mode

    • @charlesrollins6085
      @charlesrollins6085 3 роки тому

      That's a fact. I lasted about 5 seconds on my first flight and broke 2 props. Immediately invested in a flight simulator and its helped me as a beginner to drones exponentially. Still struggle on dives and small holes but getting cozy with flips and turns.

    Watching normal pilots try to do what Steele and drib do all the time makes you appreciate the skill these guys have

    I can't wait to get my quad, I have a lot to learn, but I am confident I will catch on. Just remember Drew and Steele have hundreds of hours of flight time under their belts to pull off what they do. I will conquer the skies, and hope to be as good as these legends! Drone On!™

    Awesome to see another trick series. I remember being brand new and totally learning technique from the RR guys. Thanks Drew/Steele, you guys do a great job of remembering everyone is not at your skill level and being encouraging to them while they learn.

    The Rotor Riot boys make it look soooo easy! Definitely harder than it looks and it takes A LOT of practice. In fact that is a great place to practice. Much easier on the quad and surroundings. I remember my first building dive... it didn't end well for the building!

    Totally biased but that's the best RR episode ever. Thank you Ledrib/Steele for the turbo confidence to push harder and fly in ways I didn't know I could. To all of you out there in youtube land, dive that gap you've always wanted too. Powerloop those trees. Don't be afraid, yeah it's hard but when you get it..... hello ecstasy!

      9 months in to FPV... how to land. I am totally serious. I think more people have issues with landing then has been discussed. Mine can be a bit rough. I can dive, swing around things, tricks, etc. But my landings are a little rough. I have noticed on the days where I practice orbits around a pole or tree I land way better? Perhaps its a throttle/mental control issue?

    • @rubberelemental

    "Completely different personalities " is for sure. Both different. Both awesome. It's all about the "float" with 5 & 6 in. quads. Been getting into 3 in. lately, but they don't float as well with less weight. Those Irish guys didn't seem to get that if you would get a little height you can point it right where you want it at min. throttle. Entertaining as always.

      Le Drib cheers man. It's the leveling out, sighting the exit, whilst remaining smooth on the throttle (avoiding propwash) I need to work on.
      The fear of getting stuck up a tree is off-putting too 😁

    Thanks guy! Definitely have to be in acro mode because I'd assume in horizon it would try to correct and it would be very glitchy?

    • @roaldz
      @roaldz 7 років тому +1

      you dont need anything other than acro...

    • @AllenBrooks
      @AllenBrooks 7 років тому

      Roald Zijsling I'll agree to an extent, but for someone learning, acro right out of the box is a bad action plan...I mean unless you like exploding quads and crying! I learned on horizon mode then am now switching to acro...it's a challenge, so I'm assuming your next level at flying?

    • @roaldz
      @roaldz 7 років тому +2

      when you're starting FPV, i'd recommend straight to acro. for LOS, horizon/angle may be good to start with. thats how i did it

    • @AllenBrooks
      @AllenBrooks 7 років тому

      Roald Zijsling I feel you, I had zero flight time...so I literally have worked my self up each mode...3 months I feel very smooth in acro now. Just need bigger quads for more power now. Thanks though for some info!!

    • @keithtracey6319
      @keithtracey6319 7 років тому +1

      Josh Sarchet sorry for the delay in answering you. It's a custom cable I made. Just xt60 at battery end,simple switch then split the cable and run a barrel connector to the power in on the goggles and a regular 2s balance lead to the fan connector. I run it all off a 3s battery. The fan is insanely fast then and keeps the goggles unfogged all day. Follow me on @thoraxsraceshed on facebook for weekly live streams. Thanks.

      @muchthump 7 років тому +1

      It almost looks like you have 2 fans on your goggles. I too was very intrigued by the switchable power cable to keep the battery weight off your head. I want to make one, now. Subbed your channel just because that awesome cable, but love your Ibiza vids! :)

    So I am looking for a little advise.... My son and myself have been flying drones (i.e. Typhoon, parrots, etc.) and after watching some of yours and the crews videos decided to try fpv. We have ordered parts for a build and are waiting on them to arrive so we decided to try a rtf and after watching a few reviews decided on a JJRC JJPRO P130 from gearbest (Worst decision ever). After arriving followed their (gearbest) paid reviewers instructions to the letter would not spin motors. Also b3 charger that came with it was doa so if I hadn't had a charger would still be waiting to charge. Have tried everything I can find on here and still won't come up. In betaflight it won't even recognize the remote and let me see movement even though it will do everything else. We were going to start a retirement fpv vlog and wanted first to be happy and fun now am so frustrated. Please help some noobies out. Thanks a lot and happy flying to all!

    • @sawyerlouise1767
      @sawyerlouise1767 7 років тому +5

      For people who do acro, diving is part of every move, but racers train to keep low and fast, so the finger muscle memory for pulling out of a dive is really hard to learn when it hasn't been trained for.

    • @MrFlamethrower32
      @MrFlamethrower32 7 років тому +1

      AirCannonChannel me neither, maybe its me playing video games all day, but this shit is so natural to me, and i think dives are one of the easiest things to learn (of course it depends on what your diving on or around)

  • @anthonya115
    @anthonya115 7 років тому

    I understand why you didn't dive a building somewhere, but you can't dive a tree, its not a long enough fall to be a dive, it will always look like a split-s unless you went way up higher and managed to hit the hole in between the trees at 0 throttle. Isn't the whole point of a dive to be parallel to the structure you are diving with little to no throttle and then come out of it at the bottom? That was not shown once in the video IMO. Not being mean, but the trick Drib was showing these guys was way closer to a split-s then a dive.
