@14:04 that's why Steele is a real pro. Sometimes I look at his flying and think, meh, flippy floppy roll what's the big deal. But that little yaw correction he makes in the middle of his move so the camera stays coordinated... that's the kind of thing that really puts him over the top.
Steel is probably the best pilot for a noob to learn good technique from. He moves his sticks with so much authority and finesse, no one comes close. That combined with his huge amount of experience making cinematic video with Phantoms, I would say Steel is probably the best at keeping the camera looking where he wants it while going through moves etc.
Good to see Steele making a guest appearance on RR. So glad you guys have treated the past like water under a bridge & now moving forward. It looks good on both companies (Ethix & RR) Bravo!
layrad What happened isn't important. What's important is all individuals & companies involved are friends again & can grow the hobby in a positive light without divide in the community 😊
I know it’s already been said a bunch of times but MAN is it good to see the boys together again. This vid helped me a lot and was huge seeing you guys flying together and laughing again. 👌
The nice thing is that joshua can really put himself in the shoes of a beginner and think of things the other guys miss because the have stopped thinking about it, e. g. drib setting himself up more to the left cuz hes gonna roll right .. very helpful video guys
It really good to see Steel in this video, altogether you have five different perspectives and depending on how you fly, it creates multiple options. Thank you all, for your input. AWESOME !!
Hey Chad I really like seeing Steele again in your videos. He brings a precision aspect to the team it was nice to see him on the channel again. Miss Tommy too!!!!!
you are all fantastic, because of your crazy tricks i keep on flying. Mr Steele the Knife edge trick and passing 3 times through that small gap. My biggest respect to you!!!! If i do it, i will definitely end up having my quad cut in 2 equal pieces!!! LOL
Damn I love seeing Josh and Drew together. So long as they can get out of each other's egos, they really compliment each other; eg. Josh points out the left-drift before the right roll, and Drew pick that up and goes with it.
I needed this. I'm a "scared looper". I *always* do full throttle power loops. I need to work on this, and you have given me exactly what I needed to feel alittle more comfortable advancing to a next phase. Also... I absolutely LOVE that Steele and RR can fly together again :) Makes my heart warm.
All I can say is hours and hours or days and days of practice!!!!!! Mad skills all !!! I am new to the sport and absolutely love flying quads. Everything that I have learned about flying, setting up quads, i have learned from all of you.. as JB always says “ You are going to learn something today” and I usually do. LOL 😂 Thank you so much for everything and hopefully I will get to meet you all at one of the quad camps... Keep doing what you do.
My god!!! Amazing to see you all together and happy. Lol - thanks for promoting our scattered hobby. I'm trying to get some local guys to fly office parks on Sundays!!. Oh PS. Please do more of these. The more in depth discussions about the tricks helped push our (and your) understanding of the subtle physics involved. Good stuff!!
Love to see mr. Steele back in rotor Riot I know there was some disagreement that was going on but I think Steele is a great asset to rotor Riot and love to seem him come back it would be a great investment for rotor Riot. Steele brings a lot of good content
JB brings up a good point here at 5:40, Drifting to one side of gap to allow room to roll....., this technique is also very handy for last minute corrections. e.g. your coming into your gap and realize your too close to the left side, a quick right roll can center you thru the gap or at least prevent you from hitting the left side of the gap.
Excellent video guys!! You seems having so much fun it’s good to watch. The intro song from Drew is so funny!! Outro from Stingy with the stick, 😜 Peace!!
I can't believe you guys didn't say it but... Aim for the *gap* not the edges of the gap. If you focus on an edge that's what you'll hit. That one tip made me better instantly. I was focusing on the top of gates and I kept hitting high. Don't aim for the thing you don't want to hit. Also I'm glad Steele's hair is grey. He's easily the best grey haired pilot I know, gives me me hope.
Awesome video! Great to see Mr. Steele again. Love hearing everyone’s perspectives. I do okay with basic gaps but struggle with knife edge & inverted. I found a_nub’s advice about slower speeds useful.
Nice little video. I'm always amazed by the amount of land they often find to fly. Living in a congested place SoCal, we have nothing like that. I looked at Google maps in my area and there are hardly any green patches of land. Anything with any amount of space is an active golf course.
Tiger Words still flys an Alien 5” to win the tournament. 👍🏼. JB thanks for adding the uptilt as something fliers should recognize. So important to how it flys. Like Stingy said: He can barely see when I’m landing but this view is for flying baby! 👍🏼
And here a tip from an FPV noob that had to learn it the hard way... Don't stand anywhere near to the gap. I practised flying through a door while standing about two meters to side on the other side of the door to get better video signal into the building, thinking I was safe there. Turns out I wasn't. I hit the doorframe, the quad bounced off at an almost 90° angle and hit me in my left hand. Fortunately the crash with the doorframe disconnected the battery so the props weren't spinning at full speed, but I got scratches and bruises all over my hand and arm nonetheless.
Another thing I didn't hear mentioned is target fixation. If you look at the things either side of the gap you'll hit them because you just kind of subconsciously fly in the direction you are looking so you have to look at the gap itself or maybe even through it. I suck but I'd love to hear what some good pilots think of that statement.
@@electrisean2676 Maybe cos that's not how they think. Remember, Drew was actually heading for the tree on the left, before flipping to the right and thru.
It's good to see Mr. Steele show up in a Rotor Riot episode again

Joshua Bardwell I don't like his style as much as dribs but i have to admire how much control he has over that quad, it's very impressive.
Also THAT GAP!
That gap is only for 4S, with 6S the kwad is to high and can't fit there 🤣😀
absolute unbeleaveble how he does it!

Joshua Bardwell the tape video was very helpful
Good to see Steele making a guest appearance on RR. So glad you guys have treated the past like water under a bridge & now moving forward. It looks good on both companies (Ethix & RR) Bravo!
KrissKwadd FPV What even happened? I'm so out of the loop
layrad What happened isn't important. What's important is all individuals & companies involved are friends again & can grow the hobby in a positive light without divide in the community 😊
KrissKwadd FPV Agree, their maturity is admirable. It's what you'd expect from those we look up to
When you see TBS Unify in the RR store then you'll know everybody has truly kissed and made up.
@@JoshuaBardwell what did actually happen though? boycotting each others products or what?
Steele is a magician.... glad to see him back hanging with Rotor Riot. He belongs in that Tribe.

Just wan say thanks to all of you at rotor riot. You've all helped me progress so much just by watching and laughing.
Mr. Steele killed it with that tiny gap!!! 👍😀👍
One if the best trick Tut's in the series.

You guys should watch the video again and count how many "that's what she said" jokes you can throw out. Damn glad to see you back in the riot Steele!
Thanks RR. trick series is paramount to the hobby.
As always...thanks for the tips, I wouldn't have been able to complete my last three Freestyle videos without trying these. Someday...
Steele bringin the heat.
Great vid, was nice to hear the break down along with the real time talk through. Great to see Steele out with you guys too.
Great tutorial. When Stingy held the quad for visual reference this was especially helpful. More of that in future videos would be great. Thanks guys.

Well done. Love the RR how to vids. Keep em coming!

i learned a little more today. My 2nd year flying.

Come guys bring Kwad camp to the UK.... PLEASE!!!!
that was a very clean knife edge gap trick ..
I love your trick series!!
Impossible gap that Steele hit! Amazing! I just wish you guys would have held up a quad next to that gap for a visual comparison of size.
That knife edge was amazing
gr8 vid guys cant wait to get out dea and pratice those tricks
FPV world need mr. Steele :D
This dude steel shows there levels to this shit. Hes like the elite pilot and the rest are pros.

Haha the shirt was my favorite

metsubishi look straight through the gap ;) preferably at an object far behind it.
I'm actually surprised nobody mentioned that in the video, it's definitely one of the fundamentals.

more of this, brilliant!!!
@15:29 oh damn, I wish I watched this video to the end before. I got really good at the full send into tree slam standoff break finale trick.
Great video, instructional.
Steele is the god of the gaps 😁
Guy's this is great stuff!
Wow great video guys
