    My (team member: Josh) set up:
    - iPhone X ($0 as I already had it)
    - MacBook Pro (Got it before I started the channel, so let’s say $0)
    - Final Cut Pro ($0 b/c my dad purchased it, thanks dad!)
    - Blue Yeti Nano ($0 as it was given to me as a gift)
    My total as a starter; ZERO DOLLARS.
    I started with what I had, and I didn’t pay a penny. So the “start with what you have” lesson is useful, as a new creator, it’s helped the Insaniac Team grow a lot.

  • @joeygwood
    @joeygwood 3 роки тому +37

    Final Cut Pro is $300US. DaVinci Resolve is free and very robust. Don't buy the Rode Wireless GO (1st version). The built-in preamp is too hot and will clip often. Get the 2nd version or just get a lavalier that plugs directly into your camera.

    Omar! Listen, I grabbed the free UA-cam master class you offered early 2021 (like January/February) great information and I learned a lot. Literally felt like everyone was talking to me, privately , and one on one even though obviously it was going out to thousands. So props to pulling off that personal vibe.
    Anyway, hope this doesn’t come across as weird, but legit I came across this today and I realized I always appreciated your specific style and I (again, not trying to be weird) actually felt like I missed YOU. So yeah, keep it up man. You got something awesome about your style and delivery, and you show you really want others to succeed. ✌️

I like that you gave a shout out to Nolan who did that awesome job with the FCP video and that you acknowledge FCP as being a very good NLE. What desk stand is being used for the Rode Wireless Go @ 5:13? Does the mic have a female screw socket on the bottom side of the mic, so the mic just simply screws onto the desk mic stand??

    • @gospelnculture
      @gospelnculture 3 роки тому

      After some research, I think the stand is Samson, and he may have a cold shoe mount on the stand, then the rode wireless mic slides right into the cold shoe mount.
      I will be using as both video podcast interview mics, and a solo lapel mic, so the versatility would be great! Thanks Think Media!!

    Awesome content! The MacBook Air with the M1 is a beast! It does struggle if you’re using motion graphics templates in Premiere Pro. However, there is a work around I found that has helped a bunch of creators so it is still definitely the best bang for your buck! I can seamlessly edit footage from my smartphone, DJI OSMO Action camera, Mavic Air 2, (different frame rates and RAW) and color grade in Apple Pro Res 4444 or H.264 with lightning speed!

    • @will-beck
      @will-beck 3 роки тому +2

      Here, I will spill the beans so you DONT need to watch my video on the export and render issues. Cause we’re all cool like that!🤘
      1.Save the video preview file to your external SSD after you’ve applied your motion graphics.
      2. Use that video file in a new “final edit” and add your sound design or background music.
      3. Export
      4. Now go check my channel 😂

    This is good advice for intermediate to advanced UA-camrs, not beginners. You never want to invest in a lot of equipment at the start. That will happen later. You'll know what equipment works best for you by then. At the beginning of your UA-cam journey, everything is essentially a trial and error process.
    Viewers are extremely forgiving; you can make a lot of mistakes.
    Windows and a PC work just as well. Apple (Mac) is vastly overrated. It always amazes me how people extol one brand out of ignorance. A phone camera will suffice. There are also free editing software programs available to get you started.
    Everything is available for free if you do your research (as I have). You don't have to spend a fortune to get started. More power to you if you have the fund resources. However, the vast majority of us do not. Please let me know if you want more information on the products to get started, as well as free editing software and music. I'd be able to make better recommendations and point you in a more at ease direction. These videos are completely incorrect and influence people to make unnecessary purchases. I guarantee you that you can get started for much less than the "Think media" advice.

    This is why I love Think Media. My biggest question now is whether to buy the GVM or Aperture cob light or the 800d RGB panels. The panels seem like a better value and can be used as a key and for a colorful background. But the cob lights with the soft box is so much more flattering. Are the panels good at using as a key light or are they too harsh?

    Thanks for the video! I use my phone or a GoPro for now. When you were taking about the tripod there was b-roll of lenses for iPhone, do you have any lense recommendations for the iPhone?

    You forgot a few things SD cards and storage. No one ever talks about storage, that's a huge thing unless your deleting all stock footage.
