Hey Son, I know that's right there goes that Man Putting that work in. Looking good for a first timer. . ( welding)That's right give that motivation speech, if you can do it they can do it......💪🏽💕
I just gutted my 70 Elco as my first in depth project and found my floor pans have left the chat. So this video is my first endeavor getting them done myself. Just doing research. First time on the channel this motivation. Repping Michigan!!!! Yessir
Just saw this video tonight…much love and appreciation from the Northeast! Now I need to get my tail in gear and work on some metal patching on my old truck. I’d be teaching myself how to weld as well. Definite inspiration, my man! Thanks for sharing your experience.
This is exactly the motivation I need. I have some $$ put to the side to buy a Fox Body Mustang. I had a few in the late 90’s, but I’m sure if I buy one now that’s been in the chicago weather, I’ll be doing this same thing. I can do all the motor work, but like you, I’ve never done this. Thanks for the upload 👍👍
@@EprofitdetroitTheProcess I’m glad to see the welder you’re using. Other people have said it won’t be good enough for this job, but you proved that wrong 👍 how’s the car coming along now?
Right , i heard the same thing but that welder works perfect for that job. Its hard welding sheet metal so i had to use a small Guage wire and i was fine .. but its slow motion on the Elco build , i plan to get back on it soon
BRO YOU JUST DONT KNOW HOW MUCH MOTIVATION YOU DONE GAVE ME TO DO MY ELCO FLOOR 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 IM GOING TO GO AND GET ME A WELDER IN THE MORNING THANK YOU 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💯💯💯
@Eprofitdetroit New to your channel but I have almost identical situations going on with my elco. You damn near answered all my question and gave me a bit of motivation in my doubts of being able to complete my own project. Good looking out. Glad I came across your page.
Great job and dedication to the process. Props for learning anew skill - welding. My son and I are restoring my Dad's '78 Elky SS. I used to drive it when I was in high school. My Dad gave it to me and my son before passing away tomake this my son's first car and a project car for us. I've loved every minute of the restoration process, especially doing that with my son who is now 27. I'm waiting for the driver side quarter pan to arrive so we can get to work on that part. We're doing a full off frame resto. Anyway, enjoyed the video on got some good tips. I gotta look for your latest one's and see how's its been going.
Thanks for tuning into my Process I'm glad my video was useful, and a lot of people don't appreciate the time and dedication it takes to restore a old car, it doesn't take a master mechanic just a little research and patience. The joy you feel once your project is finished is priceless and the memories and knowledge you gain is worth all the hard work . Good luck with you build and i had to hit the pause button on my elco build to launch my business but i'll be back to work on it soon .. stay locked in to my channel. ✊🏽
Looks good I fou f your vid glad I did got to replace the floor pan on my 85 el camino. The holes in the back is for draining but like you said never made sence to have a spot for possible problems down the road
Damn... You FORC’IN me to action😳 Bout t’be liv’in YO lyfe...😕 72’ Elco. Solid pan, a few rust holes. Built-Van Nuys Ca Get’in dehumidifier-garage, after paint. U right, get’in to rare t’be rollin Dusty!
Thanks, it was alot of work and i had to teach myself how to weld because its so hard finding a welder that deals with thin sheet metal, But I'm glad i did it myself and was able to show the Process. Good luck with your process ✊🏽
Good job dude! I've got an Elky too. And I'm going to start patching up on my 79 thanks to your motivation!! BTW those holes have a cap over them keeps the splashing water out but drains the leaking water to prevent rust. I'd just spot weld a piece over the holes leaving just enough space to allow for draining. Good luck and Great Job
Thanks I really appreciate that , and yeah i found out about the plugs after i had patched the hole . But thanks and good luck with your elco . Get it done ✊🏽
Thanks fam , and yeah It worked pretty good for this situation, saved me a bunch of money versus paying a shop, but i wouldn't use it for nothing heavy-duty or on big jobs. I'm satisfied overall ✊🏽

By the way, there’s a rust converter product that will cut your work in half for treatment. It’s a rust removal and treatment, metal protector and turn black like primer color and acts as a primer when it dries so no need to primer that section … ( 1 Step) is the name of the product. It works great, and no sanding required either.
Ok ok , i actually was looking into por-15 rust treatment because i heard great things about it but i will definitely look into 1 step .. thanks for the info ✊🏽
