Thanks from a fellow G body guy. Been looking around for how to's since I am starting to take all the good parts off my 87 Montecarlo. Sadly an SS taken off the streets permanently by rust but with every intention of saving every part I can for use on another or someone who needs one of those parts.

Hey Brian! Do you have a video showing how to replace the power antenna? I have an 87 Cutlass Salon and I brought it to the dealer and they like wanted to tear my whole car apart. I've found instructions that say how to do it but a video would be helpful. Thank you!
Fantastic video Brian. wish this was up a month ago before I went to take mine off to remove the AC box in my '78 Lemans. Ended up creasing the fender with the door extremely badly when I fastened it back on and opened the door. Now I can't get my door open and need to find someone with a spoon. Also neglected the shims and let them fall everywhere so it's a big mess.
That sucks. Hope you get things straightened back out.
Had to replace the whole front clip for my 87 some years back. Still need a passenger side headlight bezel and bumper mounted turn signal.

Just found your video. I think this might be a step in the right direction I need. I've got a 78 Caprice wagon that sits lower then normal ("3 clearance). My front tires rub horribly when I turn, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to fix my problem without having to switch out my front tires for smaller ones.

Yep they run behind the fender under the AC box.

Use a floor jack with a long board and 2 people. Bolt it up.

Can u PLEASE make a video about installing the chrome back onto a Buick Regal? The chrome that goes onto the lower door, fender, and quarter panel.
I had mine painted and I have all new plastic clips for my chrome but I dont want to screw up my paint putting it on. I didnt take it off so I'm not sure how it goes back on.
I would join Classic Gbody Garage on Facebook and ask there. Might have some people that can show you how it goes because I don't have a Regal that has any of its chrome removed.

For what vehicle? Check out my header panel removal because I remove the bumper cover and that may help you out.

Unbolt it and pull it out with the wheel removed. There are a lot of bolts tho so you cant miss any.

You have to remove the inner well. It then bolts to the inside of the fender.
purchased 85 el camino roller no motor, trans, or inner fenders, and donot see where the front struts are located

Check the pick up module. Check power going to the cap, its the large pink wire.

Do not but its just the reverse of removing the fender. Just make sure you have the proper shims to gap the it correctly.
What happens if you lose your shims? How do you get it back to perfect?
You buy new shims because they are needed to take up the slack.

A Caprice is a B-Body and there are many differences. The fender on a B-Body might have similar bolting points.

Paul Woods they are located inside the drivers fender and easily unbolt and pull out from under the hood.

You need a NON AC box that has heat only. Non AC optioned cars.

Remove all fender bolts on the back side near door and windshield, remove inner well bolt behind the front tire, remove each core support body mount bolts, remove wire harness, remove AC condensor, remove radiator, remove hood cable, remove any hoes attached to components on inner wells.

The plastic inner well comes with it. There is no way it stays in the car cuz its bolded to the fender.

No the front fenders are in fact different. LS fenders have a different lower section on the front of them.

Thank you for the reply. I ended up doing it already. I did it on a Regal, and from what I experienced it's pretty much mandatory to at least loosen a Regal style header panel. Mostly because of the way it slopes. Removal didn't require it because the fender was badly damaged, but installation of the replacement required some wiggle room.
Helpful video! It gets some credit for helping me finish the car in time for my first-ever road course track night!

Cut it off. They don't unbolt.

Its easier and lighter if you take just the fender skin off ..
Not all Gbodys have a fender skin and this method can be used on all of them
