I really dig this old truck. The manual and FE makes it really cool and unique. Just an honest work truck, unlike these luxobarges and brodozers now a days. Your welding seems to be getting better too. Can’t wait to see more!
Came here about a year ago and your videos helped me get my 67 mustang running as well as motivated me to make my own channel. Looks like I need to get an F100 to follow along with you now! Cant wait to see all the progress coming on this and your mustang when you get it back!
On my 1967 F-100 SWB. The floors weren't in that bad of shape. Now the bed that's another story. The entire piece of the bed from the front edge of the wheel tubs to the front end of the bed was gone. I learned the hard way about "sheet metal " from lmc that way.
Depending on how far you want to go with the project I'd recommend taking EVERYTHING out. Chances are you also have some rust around the windshield, cab corners, etc. & having the interior empty helps when messing around with this stuff. Looking good! Body work can be a nightmare.
Good work! Your technique of cutting the strip and welding in short sections is called ‘cut and butt’. A gent has a channel on UA-cam titled ‘Fitzee’s Fabricications’ where I learned of this technique. Your video will help me replace the floor pans (interior and trunk) on our 68 Plymouth Fury II sedan.
Looks like you did a decent job. I am doing my 2 rear pans and driver pan on my 68 mustang. Getting ready to start. I am in the over thinking it stage right now. Your video and effort helps my motivation.
I'm just starting to do the same, I am very slow lol also still working on making straight lines with cutting wheel but getting better, you made it look easy
It's crazy how much time something like this can take. But part of that is me over thinking it. The other floor pan was done in almost half the time, so it does get a little easier. :)
Good stuff as I am getting ready to tackle my 78 F250 floor pans! And I got a 66 Mustang as well but not as nice as yours and have a nasty bit of rust under the vinyl top...ugggg. May have a convertible before its over lol.
Hi, Just would like to know where did you get the floor pan from ? I have found a few different suppliers, but some of them are thin gauge. Do you know what gauge the floor panel was ? Thanks.
I’d recommend adding some seam sealer too but for not being a welder that looks damn good! I am probably getting ahead of you but are you planning to move the gas tank to Uber the bed in the rear frame?
Hey Andy... will be cool to follow your new build and glad to see its another Ford. As far as welding, are you self taught? What welding equipment did you purchase or use? Maybe you could show us your welding setup in a video.
Took some basic welding stuff back in school (but that was ages ago). Cheap welding equipment, nothing exciting. I'm not good enough to be passing on welding advice, that's why I gloss over that part in my videos. :)
Andy, the more you weld the better you'll get! There's something to say when you can actually do the work. Feels good to accomplish it yourself!
I agree that we get better with more practice, but I still suck at welding. :)
If time permits, it's always fun to do the work ourselves. I'm out here in Southern California and the shop labor costs are crazy high.
Looking great Andy! This is how these trucks stay on the road. Make it work and enjoy driving it!
Thanks, will do!
Andy, you are awesome. I have a 67 Cougar and a 73 ford F250 Crew. Love your videos. So happy to see you working on this truck. Love it.
Thanks 👍
I like your channel sir. Looking forward to this build! Plz keep those wheels on her…so tough!
Thanks! Will do!
God video dude!
Thanks!

Thanks! The farther I place the camera from my work the better it looks! :)
Loving this new build series, Andy! Such a great truck!
Thanks a ton!

Right on, let's go!! :)
cover the bottom metal with cosmoline spray to seal the metal from moisture. it's VERY durable and will keep the metal from rusting for a long time.
Thanks for the heads up. :)
Great Job, Welds looks good. As long as they are functional. LOOKS GREAT
Ha, there's a reason the camera only gets so close..... :)

Yeah, these projects can be overwhelming some times. :)

Nightmare status achieved. But it's only money, and you can't take it with you, so spend it all!! :)

Yeah, I figured someone out there knows the technical terms and whatnot, now I can add that to my list. :)
Nice ! Looks great!
Thanks!

Awesome, you can do it!
You’re a brave man with a good attitude!
Haha, thanks! The thing about being brave means brains are not required. I'm a perfect fit! :)
I would go ahead and show the welding. It looks fine. It helps the beginners. Well done Sir. Very informative.
Thanks 👍
Thanks Andy!
You bet!
Dremel with a cutting wheel helps in the tight areas
Yes, that could have helped. 🙂
Looks great! No one will see what's going on underneath the carpet!
Thanks!

Nice, make a video of your projects and put them on UA-cam! :)

Summit Racing. Sorry, I don't know the gauge. :)
Hey, what was the settings you used on your welder for the sheet metal? I am also using a harbor freight welder
Sorry Boss, I don't recall. :)
I’d recommend adding some seam sealer too but for not being a welder that looks damn good! I am probably getting ahead of you but are you planning to move the gas tank to Uber the bed in the rear frame?
Seam sealer wouldn't hurt. No plans at this time, but I have a long way to go. :)
These old trucks with a rubber mat instead of carpet holds moisture between the floor and the mat causing it to rust more.
Probably, but this truck doesn't go out in bad weather. :)
great job Andy!
Thank you! Cheers!
Where did you get your floor pans? Those look like they fit around the curve in the back really well.
Summit Racing. 🙂
Thank you.
Great work. What kind of welder are you using?
Thanks! Harbor Freight special. :)

@AndyKruseChannel Haha. Fair enough!
Great informative video, thanks
No problem. :)
Nice work👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice job,
Thanks!
Looks better then i can do
Maybe, I'm not a great welder, that's why I invested in a Grinder. :)
