Kouyate signing until the end of the season is probably stalling due to having no assurances of playing once Ampadu and/or Gruev returns. And if he is still demanding 50K per week why would we want to be paying him that to not play when we're already paying Solomon and Bamford that same amount to also not play. From my understanding Gyabi has a permanent deal to Plymouth arranged at the end of his loan therefore a recall seems highly unlikely.

@@tanyajacobs9974 it's the same every season. Why do you think we've only signed two left backs since Charlie Taylor in 2011 (Firpo & Davis. Alioski was a winger when we signed him, Dallas a midfielder and Byram a right back)?
The problem is he turns 35 in Dec. He undoubtedly wants a high wage & more importantly he’s played 3-4 hours of footy in over a year! That’s a serious problem. How fit is he? How long will it take him to get to the level Farke wants? By then is Amps back?
Let’s be honest if he were to sign this week, he’s not getting a look in until after the next international break (back end of Nov). After which we’ve got 9 games until the window opens. Are the club thinking is it worth it? Can we hold out until Jan instead?

Kouyate deal could be getting held up due to contract length and guaranteed playing time. As we've seen with loans Farke doesn't make guarantees. Also I doubt we'd want to commit to him further than this season due to age.
Its always amusing when we all know what the club should be doing and how the club should be run, however, there will be nobody that has EVER had experience in anything to do with running a pro club !!!
