Warren visits Rob Schnapf (robschnapf.com/) at his studio MANT. They discuss Rob's journey, all things music and get a look at his studio and great collection of gear.
Produce Like A Pro is a website which features great tips to help the beginning recordist make incredible sounding home recordings on a budget.
Love Rob's work, specifically, his Elliott Smith album's. XO and Either/Or - Those albums are perfectly mixed, to me... It captured the era perfectly. Slightly lo-fi at times, then sonic brilliance at others. Then Figure 8 was just so clean and tight...
Thanks for the great comment! Yes, Rob Rules!
You two were like 2 kids in a candy store. So much honest vibes and love of music in this episode. Beautiful!
Hi +Bob Bradish thanks for noticing! That was a huge amount if fun! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
One of the best real honest interviews you've done. Amazing info, great people. I love this, free wisdom.
Thanks ever so much Rick! Rob is awesome!
This was one of the most real/organic conversations you've posted for PLP to date. Favorite moment... cleaning fluid ruined the meter screen! It was like your bass cabinet mic stand - why? It was the right height. Very cool interview. Rob came alive when talking about how his gear effected sound. Awesome.
HI +PJSGBC Thanks very much! That means a lot!! Haha yes the cleaning fluid!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Loved this guys acting in Sling Blade..👀
one of the best P.L.A.P ever !! Robs calm way of talking makes it sooooo easy to follow !! Mellow Gold on that baby tape machine !! Wow true talent !!
Hi +Darlene Sheffield I agree 100%!! Being English his whole style makes perfect sense to me! Well thought out and measured! He has a pure love of music, not just the technical but the musical!! I love being able to talk to people on an honest level, just talk music, not frequencies, not look at screens and talk about how the sound 'looks'!! Haha Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Once again Warren, thank you for your channel and for these interviews you do. There is nothing quite like them on YT or anywhere. It feels like us home studio guys get to just go around town visiting real people making great records. And also, while I love to geek out over the equipment, the message never gets lost. It is after all about the songs. Keep up the great work, you and your team are giving some really fantastic content to us. Cheers!
Hi +James Cowan Thanks very much for the kind words!! It's a real treat for me to be able to talk to guys like Rob who are so incredibly talented! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Hi Friends, I got to visit Rob Schnapf at his studio MANT. Rob has made a ton of fantastic records! We talk about Bowie and all things music, his journey and get a tour of the studio and his great collection of gear. Rob really is an amazing example of someone who has made amazing albums on a shoestring budget! He made Beck's 'Mellow Gold' on a Foster E8 and a Roland Hard Disk recorder and the 'Loser' video for about $3,000 for everything!! Please check out the video, comment and share, you all Rock! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
+Produce Like A Pro thanks for everything that you do warren! i realy love to learn from the experience of the greats by watching your videos!. are you going to do another contest to win a mix review from you?

Hi +Darlene Sheffield I agree! Rob's talent goes far beyond the gear! Musicality and creativity is king!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
I wish you guys would of discussed his work with Elliott Smith a bit. Figure 8 is an amazing sounding record. Would be awesome if you had on Inside The Song for one of the more rockin tracks from it, like Junk Bond Trader, Stupidity Tries or L.A.
Always admired his work with Elliot Smith. I had been looking forward to this interview! Very educational. Love his approach.
HI +Shaun Combs Great stuff! Yes, I've been asked a lot to interview him! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
So great! Thank you Rob and Warren!
Many thanks, Warren! It's great to finally see Rob and many other of the pioneers of sound that I've been listening to and enjoying their work My entire life. Keep at this marvelous thing You have, Young Sir!
Hi +Bennie Clifton Thanks very much! Rob is truly talented and I really enjoyed our time talking together! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
This guy is so cool! Definitely my favorite one of these interviews.
Fantastic Warren, Thank you and thank you Rob. Love the deep dive into the equipment, though it is difficult to follow along completely as I need to get up to speed on the jargon and gear functions.
Warren, thank you so much for this wonderful interview. I am so inspired by Rob's perspective on music and recording. I also love that he had the R8 from Beck's single there. Thank you again.
Another super great video, always love to listen to the conversation when im editing bits and bobs here, and great to see so many different studio rooms and set ups, Nice Nice Nice !!
Hi +Garry King Thanks very much! Yes Rob is a great guy and extremely talented! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Fostex R8 and Mackie 1604! My first “serious” home studio setup in the early 90s. Awesome!
Hi Warren, love the videos. Just wanted to say I built 4 of the classic capi vp28s, the builds are quite easy and inexpensive, and it is great having the dual stage input and output. Thank you again for all the awesome videos
i can watch your videos for hours... I've learnt so much!! and it's so much fun!! Thanks Warren! I love Rob too!.. Fantastic video!
Hi +david diaz Aw shucks thanks very much for your extremely kind words! I'so glad to be able to help! Yes Rob rules!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren

Such an inspiring interview! Thank you Rob and Warren for this. Making me pumped to keep pushing forward!
Hi +kanaK2Nakal Thanks very much! Yes Rob is fantastic and extremely talented! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Really enjoyed this video. Rob seems like the coolest dude. Love the videos man. Learning loads and applying daily.
Hi +Christiaan Rossouw (Chris Ross) Great stuff! Yes Rob rules! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Very cool interview with Schnapf!
@24:50 IIRC the small venue where the unknown Beck performed in Little Toyko was called Troy Cafe (formerly Atomic Cafe). This interview reminded my fuzzy memory I was at one of those shows, I don't recall it being very crowded. One of the other other acts might have been called Kill Whitey?
What an amazing studio! I'm gonna dream about this one... But I love how some of his most well known stuff was made with a modest setup. That helps keep things in perspective. Thanks Warren and Rob!
Hi +noisesoundtonevibe Fantastic! Yes he has an amazing studio! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Beautiful!
In this video Warren and Rob try to remember things. Kidding aside this interview was super insightful and inspiring
Hi +Jordan21Michael Haha no you were right!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Loved your reactions when mentioning the Billion Dollar Babies album!!! That album changed me also.
Keep up all of this great work, you have a great program.
Hi +Gary Breckenridge Love that Album! Dennis Dunaway is a good friend and of course both Jack Douglas and Shelly Yakus Engineered that album as well, so now years after I bought it I know many of the creators, that's a real treat for me!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Sweet open back banjo hiding away. Keep 'em coming.
Warren you're both right on Black In Black, tracked on a MCI, mixed on a Neve.
Hi Mark! That's what I would have thought! Thanks for confirming! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
That man put up with Craig Nichols of The Vines, that’s patience and grace for you
Thanks very much! Great interview, very interesting
Hi +jacd castro Thanks very much!! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
I'm a little younger than Warren, was a young kid in the early 80s but I agree that music between mid/late 70s and early 80s was amazing. Production especially.
The Roland was called VS-880, I had one too. It was cool enough but nothing like today's DAWs power! :)
Second or third time watching this. $3k should be about $5k today. That's really incredible for whole album and video!
another great episode Warren !!
UA-cam gold! Warren you are a legend, Rob you too of course.
+monkey dangus I think this is my favorite Produce Like A Pro to date!
Hi +monkey dangus Thanks very much for your kind comment! Glad to be able to help! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Thnaks very much for this new video very very instructiv (sorry my english) ;)
Hi +Fred Gómez You're welcome! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
I don't do too many redoes on UA-cam but I love what you have done Warren Huart!
Thanks very much Neil! Thanks very much I am so glad to be able to help! Have a marvellous time recording, many thanks Warren
Great, great episode/interview!
Hi +Infamous Thanks very much!! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Rob is awesome. Love that dude..
Hi +Sidewalk Daredevils Rob rules!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Loved it!
Thanks very much! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Amazing... Love how Rob describes the 1176 "haircut" haha and how you both describe the Spectra Sonics sponginess hahah "Chipoww... Chiwowwww"
Hi +HIGHHOPES Haha thanks! I enjoy being a musical geek! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
From Classic Tracks website:
"Modelled on Basing Street, the Compass Point control room was equipped with a 48-channel MCI console, 24-track MCI tape machine and monitors comprising Tannoy Red drivers inside Lockwood cabinets, as well as a then-standard array of outboard gear and good selection of microphones."
"With Johnson’s performances all committed to tape, Mutt Lange, Malcolm Young and Cliff Williams then took care of the backing vocals, including a few that were overdubbed during the mix. This took place at New York’s Electric Lady in May of 1980 as Tony Platt far preferred the idea of using the Neve 8078 console there than Compass Point’s MCI."
So I believe you were correct Warren ;)
Hi +Patrick Thanks for the info! So all of those amazing Drums. guitars and Basses were tracked on the MCI? Fantastic! Then vocals and mixing were presumably done on the Neve 8078. Wonderful!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Here is the full article. Btw, it is always great to watch your channel, so much good tips and music :)
www.soundonsound.com/sos/nov14/articles/classic-tracks-1114.htm
Hi +Patrick Great stuff! Thanks for sharing!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Thanks Rob
Great interview!
I have an electric guitar set up as a nashville tuned guitar - its great and have had it about 12 years. Love the story about the nashville guys knowing it as an LA tuned guitar!
Hi +Mark Lodge Haha yes I was at Blackbird and they gave me a confused look when I asked if they had one, then I described it and they laughed! Lot's of people call it 'high strung guitar'. Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Simple ideas in a song always works, sometimes complex things work, but can take for ever especially if it's an insane performance or extremely difficult to mix.
Hi +blood lord (Chaotic Sonics) Agreed 100%! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
great interview im a native new yorker form long island very fertile music place
F-ing awesome, that was my fave studio visit so far! I love the informal yet informative
approach of your videos, and this guy seems like a total dude.
Thanks Warren & Rob!
I know this is massively lazy of me, but it'd be ace if all the pop-up links that come up in the videos
could be put in the video description for after, as my memory's calibrated to melodies and
fretboards - not so much names! :0)
Hi +jon Burns Thanks very much!! Yes I had a great time talking with Rob, I have a huge respect for how his recordings sound and the level of creativity is outstanding! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
PS +jon Burns will try to add more descriptions below! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
The elctrodyne console WAS featured on SOUL music - check out Sigma Sound studios folks! All the MFSB stuff, electrodyne console, much larger than his!
Love that C2!
Hi +David Iliyn Great stuff! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Loved the interview. You can tell Rob is a real salt of the earth kind of guy. Warren, I've heard you mention Dave Sardy more than once interviewing guys. Any chance of you visiting with him in the future?
Hi +Devin Buchhorn I love Dave!! You never know!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Great interview Warren, interesting guy. By the way the album after Back in Black ( For Those About to Rock ) was also recorded on an MCI but a black 400 series using all the mic amps - no external amps. Except the lead vocals recorded somewhere else.
The BBC monitor Rob is refering to is the Rogers LS3/5A monitor, they also did a famous bigger monitor the RM40TL it had mainly KEF speakers in it, and was a transmision line design....famous speakers made in England
Hi +Dirk Klinkenberg Fantastic! Thanks for the info! Yes my friend Jute was a BBC Engineer and he has some! I need them! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Love the video, IMHO your best interview yet. What's the funky silverish blue unit above overstayers?
Hi +indiejohn Aha! That's a Rob question!! Glad you enjoyed the interviewed! I loved talking with him!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Kinda has an la4 look. Maybe it's diy.
Spot on. As a musician I’ve always had that conflicting mindset of ambiguity in lyrics. It has the potential of creating dogma that has the potential to twist or add gravity to your art that has negative potential and perverse reaction. It caused me to put more thought into the songs and albums I’m putting out there.
It can do that, but the way I see it, I don't care what people will make of it. Elliott Smith for example, a lot of his songs or lyrics weren't some deeply thought out, consistent storyline with a defined meaning. I think he wrote lines, or chose words that worked, sounded good, flowed well, and maybe pointed towards a feeling or mood he was trying to capture... Maybe his earlier songs were more of a story, like his folky Roman Candle tracks. Then you hear people write a thesis on what his songs meant. They probably thought asbout it more than he did. I like to write for melody and atmosphere... Not trying to get a message out there, and so if people derive specific meaning from it, that's on them.
Reminds me of that video of Lennon talking to a mentally ill fan who thought John was communicating to him through his lyrics. Neat 2 minute video you can find on UA-cam. He shows up at his house and John basically just tried to calm him and get those delusions out of his head.
beautiful place! seems like a real cool dude who rocks hard!
Hi +Josh Salant Thanks! Yes indeed! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Rob Schnapf = Legend
Agreed 100%!
Two great point made here. It's not the gear and just do it! Thanks!
Hi +Larry Green Music Exactly!! It's NOT the gear! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Amazing interview. Do you know what LDC’s he had over the drum set in the live room?? Thanks!
Can I just say that I appreciate this channel more than you could know, having the experience of all these legends at my fingertips is more valuable than Gold, thanks Warren and Rob and God Bless.
Hi Warren, great stuff as usual, I have learnt a lot form you, I have to admit I prefer most of your stuff as educational over the ITL’s Dave does and those are great also. Have you ever considered making a periscope show of one of your recording or mixing sessions?
Hi +Ian Burt Wow!! Thanks very much for your kind words I really appreciate it! Have a marvellous time recording, many thanks Warren
Pads change to Sonics in some products, depending on circuit design because it can in some circuits & circumstances change the input impedance to the preamp... which as we know changes the sound/flavor. Dependent totally on circuit design of the preamp in use.....
I love Produce Like A Pro...will you be traveling the US once you run out of west coast studios to visit. Im just scared it will end someday.
Hi +Ice Mike Absolutely!! I love doing this, I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful talented, musical friends! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Hello Warren, thank you for these videos I find them very enjoyable and informative to watch.. My question is regarding his choice of speakers, I have the B&W 802 but I use them for my hi fi home audio, I didn't think you can use audio speakers as monitors since they are not really designed to run flat? Am I wrong, or can audio speakers be used as monitors? Thank you
Hi P.o.B pedals, that's a huge grey area! I personally blew up my parents home HiFi speakers using them to record on! Haha. But some would say B&W's are great quality speakers, so they should at least get you going!! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Good to see the DIY RE stuff in there. Peterson Goodwyn is the owner. Would be fun to see him on the show.
Hi +BitterrootRambler Yes it's great stuff! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
I couldn't watch on PLAP site (wouldn't load but, again, might be a problem on my end).So much to say about this one.Early in the interview you guys discussed what practice is for. It made me think of how actors have adopted the Shakespearian line, "The play's the thing," with my own added part, "Not the rehearsal." Then you said about people making excuses about needed one more piece of equipment or this or that new something. This inspired my new quote of the day, "Make do, or you're full of shit!"Sorry. That Fostex R8 was what I dreamed of having way back when. I had to settle for a Yamaha 4 track cassette (with on board mixer) and an R1 reverb. I still have both.I really appreciate these studio tours. I think that even if you never have a chance of owning all this great equipment it is still so valuable to learn the how and the why of this stuff. IT gets you thinking about what one can do to get better sounds, even if VST is your only way to get them. The best lesson, I think, is to quote Rob, "Stacking layers of simplicity." I have an instrumental (guitar) song called "Race Day". When I went to multitrack it I created this awesome bass line. It had groove and funk and make you move... but mixed in it ruined the track. The song is about the lead guitar over the rhythm not a "lead" bass. I've known that when I return to it I'll have to simplify the bass guitar part a lot. "Stacking layers of simplicity" is great instruction.
Hi +L. Scott Music Thanks very much for your great words and amazing insight! Yes the Fostex R8 was beyond my humble means as well! Haha Yes 'stacking layers of simplicity' is an amazing quote! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
I also took note of "stacking layers of simplicity." It helped crystallize an idea I've had for some time. I also wrote down the next bit when I was watching - "these simple ideas and you put them together and you end up with something greater." Not as quotable but it completes the thought. :) Thanks for the interview Warren!
Great video, but now I'm craving some kind of 1176!
Hi +sddbdreed Yes it's a go to for me! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Check out the Clark technic 1176. I hear they're good and afordible.
I loved this episode! So much great information across the essential spectrum.
Hi +Trevor Kerr (Artmada) Fantastic! I really appreciate it, it was a very fun episode!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
No problem, thank you for providing such quality content.
To be honest, every time I get an upload notification theses days and see that it's a Produce Like a Pro video, it's almost impossible to not watch it immediately.
Every video is so encouraging and educational. It really keeps me going.
It's like Pensado's Place for the visual learner. :P
Thanks again!
Hi +Trevor Kerr (Artmada) Fantastic! So glad to be able to make these videos! I get to hang out with great talents and talk music! Truly blessed! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
45:00 Rogers LS5 (BBC monitors). Spendor made the same speakers.
Yes, indeed the Rogers LS3/5A Speakers. Thanks for sharing
Warren I have a question, what is your opinion on the Neve 1073 preamp? and if you know the Golden Age Pre-73 a neve clone, thanks for your answer your videos are awesome!!! Greeting fron Bolivia!
Hi +Alejandro Torrez I love Neve 1073's! My favourite version is definitely the BAE 1073, the Golden Age is a great affordable pre, but it doesn't have the expensive Transformers in it. It's all about how much you have to spend, the GA is great for the money! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Back in Black was done on a Neve. My studio tech ran the session.
DId you guys cover what he records to? I skipped a bit of it but I assume there is a Pro Tools rig there somewhere? I like how there is no computer monitor or keyboard on the desk.
Hi +DoItYourselfMusician The Beck Album was done on a Fostex R8 and a Roland Hard Disk recorder but now I believe he uses Pro Tools as his DAW. Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
hi Warren, Thank you so much for these videos......so great. I just turned a friend on to your stuff today, (when he mentioned to me, and I quote, "my mixes sound like soup....").
so here's a question (or two.).... if you have a moment.
I'm running cubase, I have a mackie blackjack interface, (2x2)...... say I have a $1000 or so to spend, should I get a better mic, (I have a cheapy Audia Technica, an old RodeNT1, and an ART ribbon...), or should I get a better preamp, or a compressor to put in front... (I also have an focusrite trakmaster original...).
I've signed up for your newsletters, but really think I need to get in with the upgrade on your site.....
again, thanks again for all of this content and info.... just amazing.......cheers.
Hi +Shawn Hebb Great question! It seems like you have a lot of options. What do you monitor on? Yes please check out the free trial of the Academy, it's a safe place to share music and ask advice! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
Thanks Warren, I'm going to sign up..... and hope the Canadian dollar gets a little strength before the end of my trial! Cheers, Shawn
Hi +Shawn Hebb Fantastic!! Look forward to seeing you there! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Hey Warren! great stuff as usual....
I know DIYRE products but never known someone use'em really on top studios. When you need standards you probably look for Nve's , API's etc
Have a look at that in the TapeOp review anyway.
Another good company that make similar DIY stuff is HairBall Studio in Seattle
I thought to build a couple of mic pres by myself but it's risky to order them overseas...too much customs to pay .
For people in europe at least it's not worthwhile I think
keep it up ;)
Ciao,
Felice
Hi +Felice Proietti Great stuff! Yes all I hear is great things about those pres!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
1:05:14 one of the coolest topics
Hi Mat, agreed!! Thanks very much for your kind words I really appreciate it! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
What’s the box with the meter on the front above the overstayer on the top of the rack? I was waiting..boom shows over.. noooooo!!!🤣
Awesome video though🤘
what happened to the video of Johnathan Wilsons studio?
was it the band "311" that did a album on a Roland Vs 1680?
We know Warren is not a fan of the roland VS digital recorders but, I have met people who actually made records on them. I myself started my musical journey with a vs-880ex. I believe all you needed was better out board preamps.
Hi Warren, congrats on all the studio tour videos, they're very enlightening.
Can you tell me the name of the person (and the movie) you're mentioning at 10'44? I can't quite understand the name :)
Thanks!! Sam
+samdevol Sorry Warren, think i got it: is it Jaco Pastorius?
HI +samdevol Yes indeed! I love Jaco Pastorius!! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Does he have the Original BECK Tapes to REMASTER into 24-Bit 192 FLAK files???
Hello Warren! man I have a curiosity what do you think about Tame Impala?
Hi +Alvaro Labao They are a great band!! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
What about those Highland Dynamics BG3's? I've never seen those.
You made me curious as well. "The BG3 was another combination idea, with the same British-style Altec 436 front end combined with a UA 175 back end. Rob Schnapf now has the only two BG3s every made, which he uses often."
I have a good brain picking question for you gents, or anyone for that matter: what is your tactic(s) for minimizing snare buzz and rattle from tom and kick hits? Especially in the bottom snare mic. I've tried everything that I can think of, what is everyone else's ideas?
Hi +Jared Pennock Hmmm...are they really loose? Firstly I would tighten them unless you want extremely loose sounding bottom snare, secondly I would look at sjidechaining a compressor to the kick if it's really bad, gate would be my last resort. I hope that helps? Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren.
+Produce Like A Pro I don't believe they are too tight. Either way though, the drummer isn't going to let me adjust it. I will give a sidechain a try. My favorite gate is actually on the MaxxVolume, the big brother of MV2. Great for toms. You should really give it a try.
Hi +Jared Pennock Yes try sidechaining compression from the kick to the snare, lightly compressing the kick hits out of the snare track! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren.
please do 606 studio tour. please..
I like 67 as well - but I'm more partial to September... :-)
Hi +David Case Haha nicely done!! Yes good year!! Nicely spotted! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Will you be visiting Tchad Blake also? ;)
Hi +FedWithMusicPL That's a fantastic idea!! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing! Many thanks Warren
eleven seventy sixy, haha. Great stuff. Cheers :)
Hi +Frederick Thorne Yep! 1176!! Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
This episode was “fun”.
the Roland machine he is talking maybe was the Roland vs880
an R8 and a Mackie 1604...I have these in my studio!!....somewhere.....
@45m13s: Do you mean KEF LS3/5A? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LS3/5A
Hi +strmopizdin Yes!! Thanks very much for posting that!! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
I have a pair of those and use them regularly. Thx, man!
Hi +strmopizdin Wow!! I want a pair badly! My old friend Jute in England had some! I'm going to try and get some from him!! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Hello Mr Huart. Can I come to your house and hang out? [Jokes aside though, great work, as always.]
Hi +Raytheon Orion Haha I get asked that a lot! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
I almost forgot. I share a similar opinion about guitars. Excluding real actual classics with history, I think that once your get much passed the $1500 range for a new guitar you are really paying for finer appointments (generally). I bought my Gibson SG new for $800. I did this knowing the base construction of the guitar was as good as one twice the price but that I fully intended to modify and make it my own. It's not a good idea to spend $1500, or $2000 just to undo it! And really, if you are really into guitars, aren't you going to end up making it your own eventually? Among other things, I put a P94 in the neck position. Now it's a great blues rocker.
Hi +L. Scott Music I agree 100%! My main guitars are all very cheap, my 'fanciest' guitar is an 85' 'B Stock' Les Paul Gold Top which plays great! All the others are even cheaper! Haha Have a marvellous time recoding and mixing, many thanks Warren
If you need a nice luthier PM me. I like my guy and he's not expensive.
HI +L. Scott Music Thanks! I do like my guy, but if I need a recommendation I'll hit you up! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
