Just did one of these! Had to replace the crossover pipe in the back of the cylinder head. Good paying job!

This video has been more of a help than any I have watched…just did a injectors replacement on a 2011 jag xj l and all no gaskets and seals got a no crank no start after getting it together…from what I can see the wrong wires on this one too…the computer won’t even hook up to this one…really hoping this is the issue gotta take some stuff back off but a simple fix in my book…thank you so much…if you have any advice I would definitely appreciate it

Good catch Mario! I recently had a vehicle from the body shop that had 2 connectors swapped that caused no communication to a few modules. Man made problems can take us for a wild ride sometimes!

great job SM i was sure there was a short to voltage on the CTS circuit when i saw the 12 volts previous work history is critical happens so much with no fool proof connectors go one step further than using paper at the tailpipe hookj your pressure transducer the black one you used in other viveos to see the tailpipe anomoly all the best Mario

I’m pretty sure the whole wiper Cowl assembly comes apart. You could probably have gotten to it that way.
The rigid plastic coolant system is bolted directly behind it, still would've been a major pain to get to.
Manifold was out in 3 minutes flat 😆

Got a 3.0 XF with suspected bore wash crank no start, had bought of auction. I hope it’s not mixed matched connectors , by the way which model scanner are you using?
Did you ever hear of that trick...I believe Keith at New Level showed it...where you latch the driver’s seatbelt so that the ignition stays on and not go off on you? I’ve been using it and it works! 👍
Yes I've used it on different vehicles, each one has its own method, i want expecting the ignition to turn off so quickly 😆
I'm dealing with the same issue. Ending up breaking the original solenoid and had to replace it. At first when I everything back together it wouldn't start and the fan stayed on after shutting the engine down, but all of a sudden it magically started and ran fine, except it was leaking coolant at the small hose by the water pump. After I tried to fix that leak it won't start again. No clue why. I never messed with anything near the back part of the engine. I'm still trying to figure it out.

Around 128k
The coolant temp sensor would be about 2k ohm with a cold engine.
That would pass just enough current for the ECM to believe the intake tuning solenoid circuit is intact.
And of course the ~25 ohms of the solenoid would be interpreted as a shorted CTS circuit.

Thanks for that.....am still using the vantage pro as my scope.....is ok but hard work...pico is really the only choice for clear results you can present to your customer.......did you choose not to use a pulse sensor in the exhaust? Would have been interesting to compare with the relative compression pattern.....looking forward to your next one
Customer decided not to move further with the compression diagnosis, so yeah i left it at the relative compression test

I have no crank issue on my 2011 xjl 5.0 supercharged . I had power in the vehicle but when i try to start i would hear a tick and nothing happens
I tried boosting it still no crank
I changed the battery still no crank
I got it towed home ordered a starter motor and it arrived after a week and i changed it my car fired up . Next morning i started the car (its parked in my garage)
Started no issues got to work parked it there for 8 hours and it was negative 15 degrees Celsius tried starting same tick no crank. At this point i have new battery and starter motor in the car. I let the ignition on and started searching on forums that why it is happening couldn't find anything after about 3 minutes i tried again it started. I thought i just got lucky so i drove home and everything was normal. Shut it off and tried to start and turn of multiple time everything seemed fine. Next morning started fine no issues. Got to work and after 8 hour did the exact same thing. No crank just a tick. So i let the ignition on for 3 to 5 minutes and tried starting again she fired up. So anytime my car is parked in cold weather when its below 10 degrees or colder i have to let the ignition on then start it after 5 minutes. Any idea why it makes me do that or what does leaving the ignition on actually do?

Swap your starter relay. Make sure the terminals are also tight on starter and no corrosion.

Lol I did a mid 80 bmw head job and it had about 6 connectors that where all together I didn’t mark any not realizing that they where all the same
Bro I just replace my intake gasket and it fired up right after. I drove for about 7 mins total after 2 stops and when I got up the next morning… nothing. I checked the fuel pump and went straight to the sensor on the bypass to rid out the only engine code. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and the same thing. But after I watched your video I can’t wait to see if I could have swapped wires due to the limited space and eyeball coordination. Hopefully I did. If so bro I owe you lunch 🥙.

Awesome video. Does it seem like the other shop is keeping the compression results from the customer? Like they just paid a bunch of money for other engine work and now they have to tell them they may have to have a bottom end rebuild? I duuuunnnoooooo! I got XF R sport 2015 car. It was Cat S and trying to repair it now. Airbag reset and now everything is turning on but no start. Checked everything that possible to check. Any suggestion you can give me to try?

Where is the starter located
I took my 2006 Jaguar X Type 3.0L to a car wash and they wash the engine now it won't start when it manage to start it won't raise to be able to drive because it's keep shorting off

Dude I see you know what you are doing I have 22 years experience on diesel and gas I work for nyc sanitation but I have a side shop I make a lot of money working for myself after people know you are good it’s steady business don’t be scared start doing side work and build up your customer base the best is working for your self
How bout the A/C job
They declined the windshield. It was full of air, evac and recharge was all that was approved, and it cools. Going to get shipped out to the Caribbean according to the client

I have a 2006 Mercedes ml500 that Im having an electrical issue with and having a problem finding wiring diagram for the tail gate wiring the fog lights and ambient temp sensor is thier a site or location you can suggest I can find that are easy to read I'm s me hanic but novice at reading diagrams

I have a Jaguar XJ 2012 I still have my S types irate the S type better over the XJ I have the V8 and V6 I got hit on a 95 by tractor-trailer truck in my S-Type I did not get any injuries when I worked on the car I did not change the doors my speakers were is not damaged I had ringing in my ears that's all the damage I had being hit by one of these trucks is like going into a wall if it wasn't for this S-Type I would not be here the XJ has less room than S-Type and on the XJ when you take off the bumper to sensor fall out so you have to make sure you glue back in the sensors I just had my manifold gasket repaired at $1,100 they had a call back on this car with the water pump so always change that water pump cuz it's going to go the cam sensor need to be changed so the car was jumping like he was a transmission hard shifting so I replace that
