I do recognize these as valid gripes. I can't imagine dealing with blackout dates, it's been a decade now since I've been to the parks, but that sounds like a real concern. Also, losing the shooting gallery really pisses me off, it was one of my favorite activities when I regularly visited specifically because it was inexpensive!
These gripes *aren't* about Tiana though. Nor conservative vs progressive, anti-gun, anti-woke stuff. They are about Disney's disservice to its lesser privileged parkgoers. We don't really have a way to push back against Disney's whittling away of lower priced offerings except voting with our wallets. Maybe one day groups like consumer protection commissions will have a way to better push back for all of us.

How gruel you are. How awesome is it that Disney Imagineering used the salt mines of Avery Island, Louisiana, used during the Civil War, to create the entrance to the ride, so exciting to ponder the fate of up to 500 black slaves at a time while they toiled and were tortured during the Civil War (See Rice University - Avery Island for further details) covered in infected open sores from the salt, chained at the ankles and to each other and knowing they died in agony while you wait in the entrance to the ride. How brilliant of Disney to use a well documented place of heinous abuse of black people for a family ride!!! Imagine the merchandise that can be created and sold (especially for the Halloween nights) honoring certainly some the worst treatment of blacks in American History!!! Just keep in mine for those who don't appreciate beautiful fun Imagineering, for the squeamish, Disney has put up a sign on Tiana's Bayou stating "Salt Mines - Reserved - For Seasoned Veterans", meaning the tortured slaves.

I’m still holding out hope that the opening will run smoothly. I’m excited to see the new ride, but in no hurry so I don’t mind waiting since it’s practically the same ride but with amazing new animatronics

I'm from New Orleans. I really, really want this to be a great ride, even if the backstory is ridiculous.

Couldn't you just get a reservation for another park and then park hop over when your preview time was valid?

Good question. I had looked at that, but for Pixie, Pirate and Sorcerer the app showed no availability for any park. Since passholders get free park hopping, I guess they blocked it all out to prevent us from getting to MK on those days.

A couple of years ago, Doomcock leaked a story that Disney's strategy was to have fewer visitors at a higher cost. Generates the same amount of money and reduces operating costs.
